Pyle Compact 40 watt Mini 70v Public Address Amplifier

The 20 year old Radio Shack PA amp in our retail store shorted out, started smoking and left a wonderful burnt electronics smell in our offices for about 24 hours. So nice! It's amazing that thing lasted as long as it did but the day had finally come for us to replace it. We weren't looking for something incredibly powerful or with hi-fidelity. We just needed something to power four 8-ohm Radio Shack PA horns we've had forever. This 40W Pyle amp worked out perfectly. Installation was quick and easy and performance is much better than our old PA amp. The unit is compact (less than half the size of our old PA amp) and much more powerful. Noone can claim they "didn't hear the page" anymore :) There's aren't a lot of bells and whistles to this PA amp but that's precisely what we wanted. It's a great product at a great price. I’ve tended to stay away from the Pyle name brand as it relates to electronics because they simply don’t get the best reviews. However I picked up this one used for $40 and am very pleased! I needed an amplifier for 70 volts to power my Evid 4.2t 70v speakers. This did the trick with decent quality. I just use a 1/4” to 1/8” adapter for the AUX input and connect my phone with Spotify. The built in eq (bass and treble) is a nice bonus. Great little amplifier! The true test will be its longevity. The speakers I am using are outdoor on my patio. So once summer rolls in, this will be seeing daily use! I’ll update as I use it more.

Nice! Powers 8 speakers plus a powered subwoofer throughout my home via an impedance matched speaker selector switch. Primarily used for background music, so volume is low and there is no distortion (as some have reported). I keep the amp volume at 50% or less and use the selector switch for home volume control. Would recommend for low volume control of multi-zone systems.

This product has a lot of nice features, I guess. Trouble for me was, I was never able to get it to work! I hooked it up as specified in the directions and it didn't work. I tried hooking it up based on my experience and it didn't work. I have never had good luck with 70V systems at any point in my 30+ years experience in audio. So it sits on a desk, mocking me, but serves as a reminder.

Better than it has any right to be. Driving an old mirage nano 2.1 with 8” powered sub. Real sub-out. Sounds great. Power supply IS big as another reviewer mentioned but I think that’s a non-issue.

I bought this amplifier to replace a much more expensive, higher power commercial 70 volt amp. There is nothing wrong with the old amp, it's just that I'm moving and want to take it with me but leave the sound system working for resale.I have to say I'm impressed. More than enough power for a normal small business or home system. It delivers clean audio with no backgound noise. It even has auto ducking for paging. It comes with a cable to connect a sound source via an 1/8" plug. Just keep in mind that the aux input needs to be line level.Well worth the price.

This is exactly what I wanted new in the package. It is not stereo, and I knew it when I ordered it, might want to change the listing and remove the term stereo. It is a Mono amp. I am going to pair this with a Viking FX1 -1A ring trip paging adaptor to allow my wife to page me while I am in the yard. The paging adaptor will be on a port of my SOHO Pabx989 bucks on Amazon) which I use to block nuisance calls, and drive a pair of 15 watt 70Volt atlas horns I got for 50 bucks. the Amp and speakers roughly a c-note and I could play church chimes if my neighbors want to hear them. tehe

It worked great for a few months then it stopped working and produced intermittent sound.Had to replace the box with the same item. Hopefully this one lasts.
