KNIPEX 81 11 250 Pipe Gripping Pliers With Replaceable Plastic Jaws

I purchased these as I frequently need a 'no mar' adjustable plier option as a home owner for home maintenance, automotive work, and so many other situations. I used these today to grip on a bathtub water faucet 'bell trim' with all the plier strength I could squeeze and it broke free a corroded trip piece withOUT any damage to the trim cover I needed to reuse. The replaceable soft jaws on these are a very nice feature, to avoid a full price replace if/when the soft jaws wear down. I've used these quite a bit and no evidence of jaw wear whatsoever. This adds to my Knipex tool set and everything I have purchase of Knipex is well engineered, strong, and highly functional. I find the size of this plier ideal for general use and needs. It is large enough to grip large objects, but the overall plier is not so big you cannot use in some tighter spaces. I would buy these again and again.

These Knipex pliers are a speciality tool, of high quality, designed for specific tasks involving delicate and critical fittings (electrical, aircraft, etc.). If you are doing routine plumbing work involving chrome, copper, stainless steel or brass pipes and fittings, the plastic jaws on the Knipex plyers will likely be too soft and slippery to grip and turn tight fittings. Thus, carefully consider your intended use before buying these plyers, unless you know exactly what you are looking for.

I use these all the times when removing oil caps on vehicles. From the heat cycles tightening them down. They adjust wide to fit perfectly over different sized caps and I don't have to worry about scratching or damaging the plastics. Fit perfect in your hands the rubber grips in the jaws themselves feel really high quality and won't deteriorate after a couple uses. The soft rubber handle grip makes them a joy to use as well. I have use these on projects you can put scratches on, they are perfect for those odd jobs where you need them. Knipex really hit the nail on the head with these specialized tool. Well worth the money.

I loved these so much that I purchased both the bare plier and the one with nylon jaws. Well worth it, even if you don't use them for aviation connectors. My application was plumbing repairs. My current house is over 25 years old and I've lived in houses that are 6 decades old. Sooner or later, you'll encounter rusty/corroded valves, bonnets and cartridges that are very difficult to remove. The plier has a very liberal jaw opening. It's not loosey goosey like a Channelock. The leverage point is adjustable with a push button locking mechanism. The nylon jaws fit very nicely into the metal jaw. I believe you can order this attachment separately by contacting the vendor, but I found it more convenient to order one plier with and one without the nylon jaws. In plumbing, time is money, and the downtime of having an entire house shutdown for a repair is not acceptable (to my wife). Not having the right tool also runs the risk of damaging old parts, necessitating the need to rip out an entire valve. How many people carry around a brand new rough-in kit and valve on a simple leaky valve repair? So, think of yourself as an astronaut on a space walk who better have every possible tool you need to complete a job, because you won't get a second chance. That's my excuse for buying quality + versatility first and foremost.

Just the right size 2" or smaller plugs. Size makes it easy to loosen /tighen connectors in confined spaces or close grouping of plugs. Grips on handle and jaws are very good quality. Adjustable are tight but also easy to adjust.

I just want to say I got to use these bad boys today for the first time, and man was I speechless. I used these Cannon Plug Pliers on a Boeing 737 today to remove and tighten a cannon plug in a tight spot, and they got the job done right away stress-free. 100% recommend these if you don’t have a pair. #ilovemyknipex

I love these things as far as it goes with the pliers is concerned. The only reason it did not get a five-star rating is because I am not too impressed by the soft jaw inserts. They don't seem to grab onto slick surfaces that you don't want marred like shower heads and wands. It does appear that these inserts were sharp as far as plastic goes. But I think I may have squeezed them too hard on a surface and destroyed that. And that might be why it is not working for me. That was one of the first times I used it as well.. i have several Knipex tools and this is the only thing ive found wrong with anything they make. You're far better off getting the pair that does not have the soft grips on them., They work incredible. It's the soft grip that fails so miserable...

Great pliers. I use them as cannon plug pliers on aircraft maintenance. Great feature is the replaceable jaws. Would buy again, best soft jaws on the market I think.
