C.E.T. Enzymatic Toothpaste for Dogs and Cats, Vanilla Mint, 2.5oz

I love that this comes in a minty flavor! We've been brushing our dogs teeth since she was a pup so she doesn't mind it the process and actually perks up when I bring the tooth brush over to her. Most dog toothpastes only come in chicken or peanut butter flavor but this one makes her breath smell minty fresh like toothpaste should. Which is an important since she sleeps in my bed and I don't want to wake up to chicken dog breath. She tries to lick it up eagerly so I think she likes the taste too. When we first started using this there was an almost instant improvement in her breath which had been smelling like hot garbage. Her teeth stay clean for a while but we try to brush her teeth 3x a week. The consistency can be a little runnier than you'd expect and it's easy to squeeze out too much. The texture is a slightly runnier white paste than you'll normally find in human toothpaste. I wish it didn't cost as much as it does. $14 for toothpaste seems ridiculous but it works, the ingredients are good and the doggo likes it. The tube can kink up weirdly and it's impossible to twist it back to its shape so they could do with new packaging but the product itself is stellar.

My new dog, a 78 lb border collie/greyhound mix, has a history of poor reactions to general anesthesia, so having the vet do a dental cleaning isn’t a good option. He’s been getting vet recommended dental chews, but still has had tarter build up and bad breath, so I decided to try adding some brushing to his daily regimen, and went with this toothpaste. I choose the vanilla mint because I’d already given him a few mint dog treats (to help with his breath) and he loved them, and because I like vanilla and mint myself, and thought I’d prefer vanilla mint doggy breath to beef or poultry, lol. And I do like how this toothpaste smells, While my dog is not a fan of the brushing (he doesn’t much like me holding his muzzle or lips), he loves the taste of this toothpaste, and actually looks forward to his nightly brushing, though he’d prefer to just eat the paste off the brush. He’s a super good natured dog, so he’d probably tolerate the brushing for me regardless, but it’s nice that he doesn’t entirely hate the process. I’ve been using my finger/finger brush for the back teeth (because he’s not keen on how I have to hold his mouth to get the toothbrush back there) and I feel like the teeth are getting better coverage that way, and mostly using the toothbrush on the front and eye teeth. I’m hoping he’ll eventually accept brushing the back teeth better, but as this is an enzymatic toothpaste, I figure just getting the paste on those back teeth should help. It’s been about 6 weeks, and there’s been a pretty clear improvement; I’d say the built up tarter has been reduced by a third, and maybe even as much as a half on his eye teeth, which I can get the best look at. It’s also noticeably improved his breath; the two nights I missed, I noticed his breath was a little funky the next day and remembered we’d missed the brushing. I plan to continue to use this product—once I figure out how fast I go through a tube, I’ll probably just it add to my subscribe and save list—and hope to see continued tarter reduction.

I LOVE this doggy toothpaste. It smells so freaking good - like a vanilla/cream soda - and the dogs generally love the taste. It can be used on a toothbrush, a cloth, a rag, or applied onto a toy or dental chew.

This toothpaste is our favorite at home, both my dogs really like the vanilla mint flavor and it makes their breath so nice without smelling overly fragrant. I also really love that the toothpaste tubes are aluminum instead of plastic! It might seem like a small thing but it really does add up and I greatly appreciate that about this brand. My pups are both elderly and although they didn’t grow up with a dental routine, they’ve adapted to our current routine beautifully. I would’ve given 5 stars but the box it came in was a bit beat up on this recent order. But overall we definitely recommend this toothpaste. In the past we have used dental chews, water additives, rx dental kibble, but truly nothing compares to good ol’ teethbrushing. Brushing truly is the gold standard. Especially since my pups are older, dental cleanings with anesthesia are riskier for them, so preventative care is huge for us, and more affordable! Enzymes do need time to work, so be sure to hide the water for about 10 mins and don’t forget to bring it back out once that 10 mins is over. Happy brushing!

My dog East loves to sample the Vanilla-Mint flavor right out of the tube—but I can’t get her to enjoy the brushing aspect yet! She tolerates it. The size of the tube is going to last a good while, and I’ve used it twice so far with a small improvement in her breath. It’s very easy to use and I see no discomfort with the taste or texture of the toothpaste whatsoever. I’m really looking forward to continuing our regimen!

I have an almost 6 yr old Pomeranian. From the start, I have always been concerned about her dental health because she is only 6.5 lbs and tiny teeth in dogs can be an issue. From the beginning, trying to brush her teeth was concerning because I literally felt like I was going to break her neck trying to hold her to get it done. We use high grade kibble, dental chews and dental rinse routinely. I had her teeth professionally cleaned at four years old despite the cost to keep her teeth in shape. It hasn't even been two years and with all the same products I noticed a significant amount of dark tartar buildup and poor breath in the last 6 months. Having her teeth professional cleaned was expensive and she looked great afterwards. But it literally took her four or five days to be herself again, and i was concerned. I decided at the beginning of February I was going to brush her teeth, whether she liked it or not. I started off with the poultry flavor and she seemed to be OK with it, but I was hoping for something a little more for her breath and I switched to the vanilla mint. At first, I noticed a dramatic improvement with her breath. Her teeth appeared cleaner, but only slight improvement in color. I have been brushing about 6 days per week even when I'm exhausted because I don't want to break the routine that took a few months to get her into. Well suddenly today 2 pieces of dark brown tartar on both her canine teeth just fell off during brushing! Although it's gotten better, she is still not a fan of the brushing. But this dog mom is ecstatic! If you are consistent this product does not only prevent tartar buildup, but does does eventually break down hardened tartar already present. To me this is HUGE! It's given me all the motivation to keep going with this product! Still some small amounts left on her top front tiny teeth but the canines were the worst! it definitely doesn't happen overnight, but huge difference with consistent brushing for two months with visual brown tartar build up! I wish I had a picture.

I’m pregnant and my dog has fairly good teeth, but his breath is rough. He has moderate plaque as all older dogs do but has reached the point where he’s too old for a dental procedure. Strong smells make me nauseous and my dog loves to breathe in my face. He enjoys the taste of this product and gets excited for teeth brushing time. I try to brush his teeth at least 3x a week (usually every other day) and am happy with the results. His breath smells GOOD with the vanilla mint flavor and he tolerates it well in terms of digestability and ease of use. I’d highly recommend this product if you’re dedicated to using it consistently.

I have been brushing my 6 month old Chihuahua’s teeth with this brand of toothpaste since she was 8 weeks old. I am in the habit of brushing her teeth every night and have so far gone through 2 tubes. Because I started brushing my dogs’ teeth at a very early age, she became accustomed to it and does not give me any problems when I brush her teeth. The first 2 tubes that I went through were poultry flavor. She was pretty cooperative with the poultry flavor, but on this order I decided to purchase the vanilla mint flavor. Good move on my part as she seems to like the vanilla mint flavor more and now brushing her teeth has become even easier. My dogs’ teeth are really white and the poultry flavor kept her breath fresh, but the vanilla mint flavor has made her breath even more fresh. It’s a bit pricey for 2.5 ounces, but it is well worth the price. I highly recommend this toothpaste, especially the vanilla mint flavor if you want to keep your dogs teeth bright and clean, as well as keeping your dogs breath fresh. Buy it, you won’t regret it!

One of our dogs has some sensitivities and can't use chicken flavors, so the Vanilla-Mint flavor of this enzymatic toothpaste has been a fantastic find. Not only is it gentle for her stomach, but she really loves the taste. Shee now knows exactly when it's time to brush and looks forward to his daily brushing routine. You get a good amount of product, and it comes out of the tube nicely. Will it get absolutely all the plaque off? Not likely, but it's definitely helping.
