Worked perfectly for my project
Needed to increase the dynamic microphone output to build an adapter for my Heil Pro-7 headset to work on a rig that Heil does not have an adapter for. Small size fit inside the break out box that I built. 73 de KV4ZY

Works until it doesn't
Both worked until pot was turned. Then quit working. Pot finally came apart. Do not waste your time.

This is a product board, not a development board
This board needs some up grades. Pin 7 on the chip needs a cap. to gnd to get reduced noise and distortion. Pads to pins 1 & 8 would allow changes to the gain 20 - 200. Board set at gain of 20 as shipped. A pad from pin 6 would allow a bigger filter cap. The one shipped is the smallest one that could work. There is a diode in-line with V+, which means the lowest voltage allowed to the board is 4.5 V. Chip then gets 3 - 4 V. This also means the output power is lower, because the chip voltage is lower than the board. I should have read the description better, not what I thought I would get.

Have used one of the two, with a 9V battery, 1/4 W speaker and a piezo mic - works great. Haven't tested the other. Pin hole spacing fits standard pin headers, so easy connections after soldering three 2-pin headers to the board.

Remove D1 for 3.3V
I must concur with the user AllThings. If your voltage input is around 3.3V, you must shortcut the diode D1 for the amp to start working. I wouldn't be surprise that the other changes he suggested will improve the quality of the sound.

They do work well for driving small speaker projects, and will make great pre-amps.

Did not work for my Project.
I Need to Amplify the output of a microphone Horn speaker. The output was connected to a 16-bit A/D. Was unable to get and count out of it. Used another type and it work properly.
