Surprised at the difference.
You know, I knew my GPU was old. It was one of the last things I'd gotten around to upgrading over the years. It was part of the original build, 5 or 6 years ago. But it performed! No, I'm not playing Crysis on High, but it pushed the games, man, and I didn't have any appreciable lag. Frame rates seemed decent, I just had no complaints. But I finally pulled the trigger, and settled on this card for a balance between budget and performance. Would I have liked the 6GB card? Darn right. But I was trying to be fiscally responsible. And this is actually my first nVIDIA GPU, I've always run with AMD. My first benchmark was Skyrim. Yeah, it's dated, but I hadn't played it when it first came out. I just don't see the point in paying $60 for a game I can get for half that in a year or two. Anyway, I enjoyed it immensely, I see why it was such a big deal when it first released, etc etc. And then they released the updated texture packs. Oh cool! So I moved on over to that version, and it was neat to see what they'd changed, what stuff looked more detailed or intricate. I still couldn't imagine what a difference a new card would make. I mean, I'm already pushing this game on Ultra settings, no problem. What difference could it possibly make?? So I threw the card in, loaded drivers, and started up Skyrim. Holy. $#!7. I mean, seriously. Still set to Ultra settings, but oh my god. It was like being handed glasses after never realizing you were nearsighted. Like suddenly being granted hearing when you didn't know you were deaf in one ear. The game just looks freaking remarkable in comparison, and I am amazed. I can't even quantify it enough to put into this review. There was more texture and (as much as is possible in that game from that year) more realism to objects. The parallax in high-ceilinged halls was absolutely stunning compared to what I was used to. I mean... seriously, it was almost like I'd gone from a really nice 2D that kinda looked 3D, to true 3D. The difference was amazing, and continues to be so on the games I'm replaying to see the difference. And this thing overclocks quite well! I pushed the core clock up +300 (had it at like +340, but ran a liiittle more stable at 300), and the memory clock up a solid ghz, +1000. Runs beautifully and cool, even under load. (That might have something to do with the fantastic case I got with it: Corsair Carbide Clear 400C Compact Mid-Tower Case . Well worth the purchase, no regrets. Well, except that I didn't get the 6GB one.

Great bang for your buck, definitely recommend.
For the: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 6GB G1 Gaming Boost Clock 1847 MHz I stressed a lot about which GPU to get for my recent build, after 3 months I am very pleased with the performance of this one. I get a stable 60fps on very high or ultra settings on everything I've played so far except the Witcher 3 on ultra dips down to 54 off and on but stays right at 60 on high, and that is limited by my 60hz monitor and capped by v-sync. The hottest it's gotten is 65c after about 8 hours of gaming. Hardly makes any noise at all, even under load. Unless you have your side panel off and your ear next to it you won't hear it. In my opinion if you are running things at 1080p on a 60hz monitor, this is the nicest card I would buy. If I had had another 800 dollars to toss away on top of the 1600 I spent on my build I would have upped the GPU to a GTX 1080ti and bought 144hz monitor. As a daily but casual gamer who largely enjoys games for being a visual spectacle, I am happy with this card. So far I have played Dying Light, The Evil Within 2, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Dishonored 2, and am just starting the Witcher 3 and they all run buttery smooth. I'm sure side by side with a top tier build you would see a substantial gain, but you get what you pay for, and this is a good bang for your buck. Highly recommend. NOTE: Here are a few in-game screen shots which are actually a bit blurry for some reason. The games all look crystal clear while playing.

EPIC MID-RANGE GRAPHICS CARD!
I used this card in my first PC build, as I wanted something with good power for gaming. I purchased the G1-Gaming model which is one of the faster 1060's I paired this with a Ryzen 5 1600 (like a lot of others, I assume) and 16GB of RAM and it runs BEAUTIFULLY! On my laptop (which is what I used for gaming before my PC build) I was lucky enough to get about 50-80fps in csgo on lower settings with anti-aliasing settings on low/off. With this card, I have set EVERY graphic setting on CS:GO to as HIGH as possible, and I get over 250FPS! It even spikes around 325 often! One of the main reasons I built my PC is to play PUBG. On my laptop, on ALL low settings, I got around 7-10 fps (lol). With the GTX 1060, over 120 FPS on ultra settings! If I turn some things down to have better visibility in foliage, etc, my fps easily spikes over 170. Absolutely incredible. Also, make sure you are paying the right price for the card, it is often out if stock and marked up by 3rd party resellers. The G1gaming model like I have should be no more than $289.99, but I have seen it selling for over $400.00 from scalpers/shady resellers. Don't support scalpers!

Heavy-Duty card for all but the most dedicated vidya nerd
Excellent for gaming needs. Runs nearly everything in the current modern age (2018 as per the time of this review), and has reasonably good support for VR. Reasonably quiet even when overclocking, and though mine runs a little hotter than my last card did (~40C rather than ~28C), I've had absolutely no problems thus far with temperature, even when overclocking for extended periods of gaming (~4 hours at 60C). Would highly recommend this card if you're looking at playing a load of graphics-intensive games made in the current year, and can't quite yet afford the higher-budget ($500-800) cards. This will do most everyone save for the overenthusiastic gaming nerd very well. Really looking forward to using this over the years, very pleased with my investment.

One thing I don't like is the gigabyte utility software
This is the first gpu I bought, and it works very well. I guess it can be a little whiny but that's only when overclocking otherwise I don't hear it at all. The rgb lighting is a little smaller than I thought it would be but the variety of colors is astounding. One thing I don't like is the gigabyte utility software, it's very clunky and not overall not good. I average 105 fps at 1080p on ultra settings for world of tanks and it looks great. Probably the best bang for your buck if you're not too crazy about having the absolute best picture quality on your monitor.

Probably the best GPU for $300
An excellent GPU for the price. Using this alongside a Ryzen 5 1600 with 16GB DDR4, Performance: I get stable 60fps in 1080p in PUBG, a notoriously poorly performing game; 70 fps Battlefield 1 in 1440p with Ultra settings. Temperature: Runs very cool after hours in the above mentioned games, top of my case is not even noticeably warm to the touch. Volume: Amazingly quiet. My case is two feet to my right side, if I lift off my left side of my headphones, I cannot hear any sound from my case, even with no sound playing through headphones. All around fantastic card that performs great, is quiet, and cool.

Solid midrange graphics card with affordable price
It is a great graphic card. It feels solid on the outside. It is heavily surrounded by casing and fans. The card is super quiet because the fan only runs when it needs to. The card also has its own color LED. It can be toggled with included app for different lighting patterns. Graphics performance is good. No lagging. So smooth. I am pairing this card with Intel 7700K CPU. Pricing is good from Amazon too. Better than my local store which was already sold out.

Fair pricing.
This was my first jump into PC gaming from a 5850, and it was a great card back then.

Great GPU, very quiet
The fan is really quiet. It Barely can hear when it’s running. The temperature of running game on 1080(ultra mode) is only up to 70c. I haven’t tried OC mode, the temperature of OC mode may be higher. Never got noise problem when the fan is running. Overall great card!

Excelente GPU
