Unbreakable - Pour Over Coffee Maker with Double Stainless Filter 27 fl oz, Thickened Heat-Resistant Borosilicate Glass Pour Over Coffee Dripper, Stovetop Safe

I've been using a paper filter pour-over from the originator of this type of coffee making for about a decade. I've gotten a bit tired of the cleanness of the coffee and wanted to try something a little more robust. This caught my eye, and I figured what the heck, it looks interesting, it's not expensive, so why not. It was a good purchase. the urn is attractive and flawlessly made. I hope not to find out whether or not it lives up to the Unbreakable name, but it has held up to a bit of careless handling. The borosilicate glass has a bit of weight, but it's not too heavy. The spout pours perfectly cleanly without a single drip. The filter is a cross between a cone filter and a French press filter. The coffee is double filtered; the inner filter is a fine mesh filter, the outer is just perforated steel. There are several holes in the bottom, and I was afraid that it would pour too quickly and not give water enough time on the grounds, like some other mesh filters. It does not. Coffee drips at a normal rate for a pour-over. It tastes a lot like press coffee without the sludge (or not much). I'm using the same medium-fine grind that I use with the paper filter maker, and it works well. Since the volume of this filter is less than the #4 filters I've been using, I have to do more pours, so it takes a little more attention. Grounds tend to stick to the filter, so it takes a little more care in cleaning, but the results are worth it. This is definitely different than other coffee makers I've used, but I'm quite pleased with it. It makes good coffee, looks unique, and pours like a charm. I'm convinced.

This may be unbreakable but I haven't tried to break it. The glass and feels like it would break easily, if you tried to. Works great for making coffee though. I like the spout. Makes it easy to pour coffee into my coffee cup. Sometimes I pour it into my coffee mug. It works well for either. I typically add creamer to my coffee after I pour it into my coffee cup and/or mug. Then I drink the coffee. It usually tastes good, unless I use a flavored coffee I don't like the taste of. After I'm done drinking the coffee out of my coffee cup or mug. I clean my coffee cup or mug. Then I clean the unbreakable pour over coffee maker. That is some what cumbersome if you don't have a brush that can reach the bottom of the pour over coffee maker. I don't really drink a lot of coffee though.

High quality glass, and the metal filter is much better to use than paper when it comes to convenience. One thing you should know about these metal filters is that you shouldn't overgrind your coffee beans or you risk some making it through the metal holes. This is not a problem, but just one downside of them. I still think it's cleaner and more convenient than paper filters though. It does look pretty brittle though, so be careful not to drop it.

UPDATE: I found myself not wanting to use this because it was so delicate and gave it to my daughter. They got one use out of it before it fell and shattered. Luckily, the kids and pets weren't nearby or blood would have been spilled for sure they were so sharp. - NOT UNBREAKABLE IN THE LEAST - This cannot possibly be real borosilicate!!! - DANGER WARNING - DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN OR PETS IN THE HOUSE!!! Original: It's adorable but the glass is a lot thinner and lighter than I would have expected from something deemed unbreakable in the title. I'm 100% certain that claim is 100% false - it's way too thin to be unbreakable; I'm not sure if it's borosilicate or not, and not sure where it gets the claimed "thickened" unless it means like thickened from being paper thin LOL (ok it's not THAT bad but definitely not comparable with other borosilicate glass kitchen items I've seen). I also got a cheaper filter that's just one that sits on top of a mug and for whatever reason, that other filter seems to work better and the coffee is more flavorful with it than with this one, and that's been consistent over several uses. Overall, this is super cute and does work exactly as it claims, and as thin as it is, it did not break in transit - it was very well packed inside its box luckily. So, it absolutely does work and it's easy to pour out your coffee, but avoid it if you have anyone in your household that tends to break things easily or if you have children that might knock it over. It doesn't seem like it will be very long-lasting since the glass is so very thin, which is the reason for the lost star.

I bought the spout type in September 2023. At that time it was listed as 34 ounce. I found that 27 ounces would be a more honest description (see my first review below) . And behold, the seller actually changed the description to 27 ounces! So happy to report that the seller paid attention. It helps a lot when your buyers are not disappointed and get what you describe. Having said that, I have not raised the stars to 5 because I just broke it. The spout broke when it tipped in the sink. These are made of glass, and no matter how strong the glass, they are not "unbreakable" especially when the spout protrudes out. But, I have very much enjoyed using this maker and it is a terrific value. It is also packaged beautifully so it makes a great gift. I have re-ordered the model without the spout. I don't that it was available back in September. I like w/o spout better. Takes up less space and easier to store and also less apt to break! ******************* This is an early review, prior to actually using it. This carafe is adorable. Having said that, I dropped a star from the start because the stated 34 oz is deceptive. I got this one to replace a 6 cup Chemex which is described as a 30 ounce decanter. The Chemex bowl is much bigger than this one and yet the "unbreakable" manufacturer says it holds 34 ounces. The difference is that the Chemex 6 cup holds 30 ounces in the bowl of the decanter. I filled up the "unbreakable" using an 8 ounce measuring cup. I managed to pour in 4 cups and 2 additional ounces however the liquid goes high up in the neck and also fills up the spout and literally spills out. A fair description of this is carafe would state 27 ounces, because that is what the bowl holds without flooding the entire carafe.

Having a cup of pour-over coffee is my favorite way to start a weekend morning, and this coffee maker has made that routine even better! The 27 fl oz capacity is fantastic, providing more than enough coffee for a satisfying morning brew. The heat-resistant borosilicate glass feels thick and durable, and the double stainless steel filter works beautifully without needing paper filters. Good while it lasted, beware definitively NOT unbreakable - it last about a year then broke

Well designed, the handle and gooseneck ensures it pours well. The reusable metal filter is easy to clean - even after more than a month of use, it is still spotless. Would buy again.

Looks great and stores well. Cleaning is a breeze. Works well and metal filter does surprisingly well. I have used a paper filter inserted as experiment to see if the slow drain through made a big difference, it didn't. Use right size grind of coffee or buy ground coffee for pour over/caffatire and you will be good. Great tasting coffee fairly quickly and stylishly
