Should be Required Reading
Hands down this is IMO the best entry-level book on Spring and Spring Boot. Iโm a senior level software engineer who uses Spring daily and wish I had this book when I first started out. I think this book should be required reading for any new engineers onboarding to a team that uses Spring and Spring Boot in their eco system. For example a lot of new Spring engineers donโt fully grasp dependency injection or understand the multiple ways you can register beans to the Spring context, or why and when you should use one over the other. Likewise, (and perhaps surprisingly) many new engineers donโt fully understand the correct usage of HTTP methods in REST and how to correctly build service endpoints. This book explains that and so much more, completely demystifying the entire Spring approach while also teaching RESTful best practices. The author is masterful in his writing and delivery. He is clear and concise in his instruction. His examples are relevant and on point. He does not ramble on or get side tracked in theory or minutia. He just delivers the right amount of info in a most clear and engaging way. Iโve read a lot of books and watched a lot of videos on the subject, and this is absolutely the best educational tool on Spring/Spring Boot I have come across. Kudos to the author. Thank you!

Fantastic Intro to Spring
I read this after completing a vocational course in core Java. Immediately after finishing the book, I was able to complete one of the Manning liveProjects dealing with Spring Boot. The first 6 chapters will drag on. Dependency injection is useful, but not the most exciting topic in the world. I feel itโs an effective approach though, to go slowly through the fundamentals in order to learn them well. The real fun starts with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Thymeleaf in chapter 7. The focus on templating is very minimal, but enough to get going. The book moves on from templating to APIs, and stays focused on the latter until the end. The teaching style is very focused and elementary. There is a lot of repetition, especially in the beginning. The coverage is just deep enough for the reader to start swimming.

Actually for beginners
I have spent many hours trying to find a resource that explained spring from top to bottom, but they all leave so many aspects untouched. They all either assume you know basic spring, don't care enough to know what spring is or just jump from one topic to the other leaving you with some working code that you know works but nothing else. This is the first resource that actually takes the time to explain what spring is thoroyghly and i couldn't be happier. A must read if you're getting into spring

Teaches more than school
In school for computer science not learning anything relevant. Just there wasting time and money for the piece of paper. With books like this you donโt need school. Amazing content taught me everything I need to know about the Spring framework. 5 stars better than anything I have been โtaughtโ at university

Can't stop reading.
I recieved this order a few days ago and can't stop reading it. The last time I used the Spring framework was in 2018. A lot has changed. I'm now using Spring framework 6.0.2. This book is refreshing. When considering all of the changes since 2018, I felt like I knew nothing about the Spring framework. That was until I started reading this book. If you want to learn the Spring framework or need a refresher, this is absolutely the book for you (in my humble opinion) .

Perfect for beginners!
The book explain everything perfectly and with details. I recommend using IntelliJ, as in Eclipse not everything works well. You can obtain a solid basics of Spring which can help develop further. I fully recommend. With the book you get the pdf and kindle access as well - this is awesome, because you can read it everywhere without having to take the book.
