Curel Japanese Skin Care Intensive Face Moisturizer Cream, Hydrating Face Lotion for Dry to Very Dry Sensitive Skin, Anti-Aging, Fragrance-Free, Anti-Wrinkle Japanese Skin Care, 1.4 Oz

I have sensitive, acne-prone combination skin that’s frankly really hard to take care of. I’ve been on the seemingly never-ending quest for skincare that works for me for the last several years, jumping from one regimen to another. I study up on products before purchasing them now, using the site INCI Decoder to check ingredients for the comedogenic & irritation potential. I was really impressed to find that this one has really, really low potential for either (photos attached). I have tried many, many moisturizers — this is one of very few I’ve found that actually works for me, and meets all my requirements. Scent: I get headaches easily & my skin is sensitive to fragrance. This doesn’t smell like anything. Texture: I haven’t felt anything like it before. It’s almost like cool whip..? It’s very very lightweight and airy and spreads easily without any pilling. It’s enough to keep away dry patches while using Tretinoin, but it’s not greasy or heavy at all. Effect on skin: I use this at the end of my regimen, after Peach & Lily cleansing gel, Laneige milky moisturizing toner(?), Innisfree Vitamin C serum, and 10-15min after applying Altreno gel (a form of the prescription retinoid Tretinoin), morning & night. It keeps my skin hydrated & moisturized for at least a day without forming any dry or greasy patches, which says a LOT. Value: $20 for a tub is fine. It’s not a ton, the pots are pretty small, but I’m happy to pay for anything that keeps my skin happy. I’m a little bummed it doesn’t come in a tube or pump bottle since pots will collect bacteria from repeatedly dipping your finger(s) in it, but it’s fine. Overall, this is the most pleasant experience I’ve had with a moisturizer. It’s legitimately so neutral that I don’t even have to think about it — it’s just such a seamless part of my skincare routine now. I’ve been using it for over a month now and haven’t had any issues at all with irritation or breakouts or dryness (or anything that can be a sign of a failing lotion). If you haven’t tried this, I definitely recommend it.

Amazing! This cream saved my "on fire" flaky skin after "beauty night" with my niece! And just crossed 50s line and I breakout! Ive struggled with extreme red lichens & hot spots. My skin was painfull to the touch. I was desperate... and I just ran out of my Curel body moisturizer - always to the rescue on my face. Why to buy and use Curel Face cream: 1) smooth application 2) very subtile scent 3) perfect on any sensitive skin... if it works on mine, it will work for you (I can break out even from overpowering smell) 4) it lasts all day or all nigh - just like body moisturizer 5) my morning puffy eyes gone in few minutes after application 6) radiant skin 7) feels amazing DONT THINK! JUST GET IT! *yes, it is a bit small packaging, just 40ml, but this cream is efficient and there is no need to overapply. LUV IT! Will be getting more face products... I have trust now.

I purchased this just last year for half the price it’s listed now. Have used it since first discovering it in Japan. It works well for me though it leaves white cast on hair/beard, that requires rubbing in. Especially for melanated folk. Deducting a star because the size didn’t grow but the price doubled because of greed. Purchased in May 2025 for $22.05. Nfw is it worth double 6+ months later.

TLDR; Curel is good but it kinda sits on top, it’s a great non-pore-clogging occlusive though. Pic shows Malezia on the left is thinner/watery compared to thicker Curel on the right. Long review: I have oily/dry combo skin, super prone to clogged pores and flakey patches around the nose/mouth and dry eye area. I don’t have fungal acne but I do find that FA-safe products are the only thing that work to keep me from breaking out/clogged pores. I use the Folliculitis Scout website to help me choose products. I use the Malezia Urea cream and that pretty much solved all my problems except in the winter/summer it doesn’t last on my skin. No matter how much I put on, the skin around my eyes and mouth were flakey and sore after a few hours. They list this Curel cream as safe and semi occlusive - occlusives scare me, I’ve had bad experience with clogged pores but I gave it a shot. I put the Malezia on and then I put Curel on top - It fixed the dryness in just one use. Also, my pores are cleaner now than they were with just Malezia alone. Only gripe is that foundation doesn’t look as good on either of these creams as it does with high-end skincare but every time I try one, the bumps come right back. So, it’s a fair trade off. Also these are so inexpensive in comparison so I’m not mad. Malezia would be perfect on its own but if you need extra moisture, layer Curel on top to lock in the hydration. I tried Curel alone and it doesn’t sink in well, it really needs the Malezia underneath.

This stuff has seen me on my worst days and still hasn't caused any issues. Even with a sensitive face due to new skincare, this moisturizer did no harm. It definitely repaired my skin barrier. It beats my pore clogger checker tool because the ingredients don't cause any breakouts or clogged pores!! It is a little on the heavier side because it's a cream, but that's exactly what I was looking for! When you have dry or combination skin, things that are too thin don't seem to do the job. Even though it's thicker it does still seem like when it absorbs (which is does quickly). It doesn't feel greasy at all, and the scent is neutral. It's great!

I discovered Curél while living in Japan and have been using it for almost a decade—it's unbeatable for very sensitive skin. However, the recent price spike on Amazon is disappointing. I had to buy it directly from the Kao website to get a reasonable price, so I hope Amazon drops it back down to its original $20~$25!

I received this cream just yesterday and used it right away. It moisturizes very well and doesn't cause any itching. However, I didn't like that there was no protective seal between the lid and the jar. Also the jar is so small for this price.

Excelente crema hidratante, me deja mi piel súper luminosa, me da ese glow up que necesitaba, cabe mencionar que suelo tener piel seca, pero desde que la uso, mi piel se ve hidratada.

I LOVE this moisturiser! As an eczema sufferer that has been a huge win for me. I would say that the word ‘intensive’ is accurate. It is a thick & heavy cream, but for someone with super dry skin this is perfect. I would say it is similar in consistency as to other moisturisers that are branded for “nighttime”. It’s great for super sensitive skin, it feels lovely & luxurious on. I would agree with it being fragrance free. Will definitely be buying again (& again & again). This is the first year I didn’t have a dry skin outbreak over winter - YAY.

Crème sans parfum, parfaite pour les peaux très sensibles. C'est une crème riche, mais elle pénètre bien et laisse la peau toute douce. Cette marque est super aussi quand on utilise du rétinol, pour calmer d'éventuelles irritations.
