Yes, this watch is radio controlled. Casio's term for this is called Multi-band 6. Be advised, you must be in an area that is actually covered by the time clock radio waves. ie: US, Japan, China, UK, Germany. Side note: I think this is Casio's best watch, regardless of price. GW-5000U screw back. This watch used to be JDM (Japan Domestic Market) only, until 2021 when it was sold in the EU market as GW-5000U-1ER. The U in the model number indicates that it is the upgraded module beginning in 2021 (date can now be DD-M or M-DD, the backlight is different now too) Amazon's price at around £215 is really very good. Also, the GW-5000U is made in Japan. Most other squares (except screw backs) are made in China or Taiwan. FYI - if there is a W in the G-Shock model nomenclature - then it is probably a "Waveceptor" Radio-controlled Multi-band 6 watch. I much prefer Multi-band 6 to Bluetooth in a G-shock.
