2 Pack Adjustable Torque Hinge Position Control OWACH BH-672-2 for Electronics Box, pochade Box Replacement E6-10-301-20

I’m using these on a pochade box for my oil paints, which is a Sennelier paint box that I’m setting up to mount on a tripod. The box had floppy hinges. These torque hinges are working much better. The only downside is that the box no longer stands vertical on the hinges when closed, but of course the idea is to have it horizontal and open for painting. :)

These hinges are heavy duty and did a great job holding the paint box’s lid firmly in place. My husband replaced the original flimsy hinges on the paint box with these ones to make the lid to stay upright and withstand the pressure of a paintbrush strokes and the hinges did the trick. They helped me save hundreds of dollars by allowing me to have a DIY paintbox made instead of buying a ready to use one that would break the bank.

I needed a hinge that would lock in position and this tough little plastic hinge was perfect. I like that it’s very durable.

These hinges will work for the homemade palette I made. Unfortunately the torque adjustment screw protrudes beyond the form of the hinge, basically the hinge won't completely close because of the adjustment screw. Instead of the unhinged side being 3/4", the depth of the hinge, the open end is 2-1/4" wide because this how far the hinge will close. Think of a U where the distance between the open legs is that of the bottom connector. With this hinge the U has more of an angle like a W. I just need to keep the one side detached when in storage or carrying around and then when I go to use it reattach the one side. It does mean I need to carry around a little wrench and screw driver which is a bummer when trying to pack as light as possible. It does work though and has great torque that's adjustable.

Very high quality and heavy duty. Smooth movement and adjustable. The large size is 2 and 1/2 inches wide. Bought these to replace broken ones on a boat. Better than the originals and much better price.

The height of the adjustment screw will not allow the hinge to close fully to the zero degree condition. For s box lid application this would prevent the lid from closing completely.

Love that these are small and lightweight. Disliked the round headed screw to tighten the torque which gets in the way of the hinge closing so I replaced it with a flat headed screw. Also the torque could be stronger. I wouldn’t buy again for my purposes but this may be ok depending on application.
