The best and safest way to connect/lengthen standard wiring
Cut the blue wire ? Cut the green and yellow wire? One wrong snip and kaboom ! The closet you will ever get to being a bomb disposal expert. I recommend wearing protective glasses and have a small child on standby holding up an egg timer set to 30 seconds. For extra tension tell the child his pet rabbit will die if the alarm goes off.

Very awkward to connect the cables. Very fidgety. There are better out there.

Very easy to use and effective
such a simple device that I had my nephew (who has never changed a plug) repair a cut hedge trimmer cable with it. Under supervision of course! Ideal for cable repairs which, in my experience, are the cause of a lot of older mains powered tools going faulty. Problem at the end of a cable? Change the plug. Problem in the middle or near the appliance? Get one of these.

Does the job well made but definitely would not recommend outdoor use as advertised it is not in any way water tight

This is a v.useful bit o' kit for the householder to have tucked away. I bought it in order to repair a lawnmower, I now have a spare which could be v.useful in an emergency. It IS waterproof, but for my intended use, it has to be. Easier to wire than a 3 pin plug, the wiring guide is included and even stamped on to the brass screw fittings - you'd need good eyesight, but it is an additional safety feature in addition to the enclosed wiring label.
