Garrett A.T. Pro & Pro-Pointer A.T. Metal Detector Bundle

OK, I have had my AT Pro for short time now and have taken it out for a go at finding something. I went to an old campground for horse people. I turned on the detector, did a ground balance and in less that 10 minutes found 2 pennies, 2 dime, and 2 quarters. I also found a key, a live 45 long colt cartridge. The cartridge was over 8"deep. The coins were from 2" to 4" deep. There is a lot of years of accumulation of old .22 shells pull tabs and tinfoil at this site. By using the coin setting I was able to exclude a lot of it. My dang cell phone went off so my hunt was cut short but I will be back up at the horse camp in the near future. I received my new 5x8 inch coil today and went out in back and tried it out. Works like a charm. Ok now for the pros and cons....Pros:The detector is light weight and very easy to swing.The readouts are clear and easy to see, even for my old eyes.The learning curve is fast. There are also tons of good information clips on this detector on U Tube.The unit seems to be well made an easy to take down and set up. "I have always kept my detectors in a case."It has an adequate amount of setting for most detecting tasks.It seems to me over the years its been the detector other detectors are held up to for performance and quality.Cons.Garrett should make this unit available with a choice of coil to be purchased. Not make you buy another to fill your needs. Their marketing dept. probably don't like me now.What the heck were they thinking when they selected the plug in for the coil on the detector body. Its not an easy task for these old eyes to plug the coil into the detector. Now I realize your probably are not going to do this ever day but still. I have two coils and I plan on using both of them.Ok, thats about it. Over all I'm pretty sure you will find this detector a great choice. I think you will have to spend quite a bit more to improve on it. Its time proven and tested. Its made by an American company and for me that is a plus. This is not a first choice for gold prospecting, I use a gold bug 2 for that. It is a great choice for relic and artifact hunting and experiencing the fun of getting out of doors and just having fun. This is my first metal detector and I wanted to use it a little bit before I wrote a review. This is a very capable and well-made metal detector. It is built to identify and discriminate between iron, junk, and high value targets. The different tones are helpful to sort out low value junk. The notch feature is useful and i have started to use it to narrow my searches I have used the pro features and also the pinpoint feature, which works extremely well. When I was trying to decide which metal detector to buy, people told me not to buy a cheap detector. That was good advice. Save up if you have to and start out with a decent detector. I would recommend this Garrett 80 Pro for your first metal detector.

This is a really nice high quality general metal detector that is good for beginners and pros alike. The manual is easy to read, the youtube video's are great, and I was out digging up treasure and junk metal in no time. I plan to have and use this detector for a long time. Assembly was easy and the wife enjoy's it as well! Great hobby and this unit is fantastic!

I like that I have found over 100 coins in the couple of months that I've had the Garrett AT PRO Metal Detector. I've never used a metal detector before. It is lightweight and easy to use. There are lots of videos on YouTube showing how to use it. The pin-pointer is wonderful in narrowing down your find. It took me a little bit of time to be able to time it right to go through the 6 settings. I have no problem with changing settings at all now. I watched a YouTube video and I got the timing down.

Great detector and perfect for me as a newbie!!! The pin pointer is a great tool and help....its a great way to start off without the need to upgrade. Complicated enough to allow me to grow yet has modes simple enough to get me going, i am headed to the beach!!!

I started out this hobby about a year ago and have detected my 5 acre lot 100 times and the first time i went out i found a 1885 flying eagle penny in the middle of the path i walk every time I go back detecting my property… machine is great and works well when you learn it

40 anni fa avevo autocostruito un metal detector, in tempi più recenti ne ho comprato uno di media qualità. Questo riesce a dire più o meno di che tipo di metallo si tratta ed a che profondità si trova. Col pointer in dotazione poi la ricerca viene ulteriormente facilitata. Non credevo fossero così progrediti. Trovare qualche piccolo "tesoro" sotto terra è molto piacevole
