how much do 100 AA batteries weigh so I can buy the correct recycling box? There is no longer any place near me to take them for recycling

I've only ever purchased them in the 48 count box which weighs, including the box, 2lbs 12oz You can do the math on that but I reckon a 5lb recycling box, whatever that is, would be suitable.
