Excellent movie

Purchased as a gift. They are very happy with the movie.

I have been looking for this movie for ages. It has been almost impossible to find a copy that will play on American DVD players. The reproduction is very good. It runs about 30-35 minutes shorter than the original movie that I believe was made for TV as it appears in box format. But the story is still good and has great actors in it.

THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT A POOR GIRL THAT FALLS IN LOVE WITH A MOB BOSSES SON. SHE GET'S PREGNANT, AND HAS THE BABY AT A UNWED MOM'S HOME. THE FATHER OF THE CHILD GET'S KILLED. WHEN THE GIRL GOES TO THE CHILDS GRANDFATHER TO PLEAD HER CASE FOR HERSELF AND HER CHILD. SHE GET'S HIT BY A CAR ACCIDENTLY.WHILE SHE IS RECOVERING AT HER SON'S FAMILY'S HOME SHE FALLS IN LOVE WITH ONE OF THE OTHER SON'S AND HE FALLS IN LOVE WITH HER. SOFIA STAY'S AWAY FROM THE UNWED HOME TO LONG RECOVERING FROM BEING HIT BY THE CAR, AND THE NUNS PUT HER SON UP FOR ADOPTION.AND IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE REST. YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY THE MOVIE. BUT TRUST ME, IT IS A VERY GOOD MOVIE THAT WILL KEEP YOU GLUED TO IT.

I saw this movie on cable many years ago and it is a welcome addition to the gangster/mob section of my library. I happily discovered its availability on Amazon. After seeing the running time I thought that for years that I had been mistaken that it had been a mini series. After reading a couple of reviews I found out that I had been right all along. Even though 35 minutes are missing I still enjoyed it. If the original mini series version were to be released I would buy it,

Love this movie!

Great movie about four women that take on the would of the mafia. They see loved ones die and children lost yet they manage to find a way to keep on keeping on. They are survivors through it all and they come out on top of the game. They stick together and are not embarrassed to be themselves. Most importantly, they don't try to act like men. They do it in a female style, you know classy and sexy. I highly recommend this movie to mafia buffs and to anyone who just loves women's conversations and interactions.

fair warning, the sad part is this is the edited version rather than the longer version that was aired on tv as the mini series which is the one i fell in love with and whole reason i wanted it on dvd.. but the good part is, at least you can watch this shortened version on dvd since you'll never see it on tv again lol. it's a great ensemble cast with the mafia life from the female POV where they all end up being widows seeking revenge. james marsden is great in his role too, and he's been a long time crush for me so he's a nice bonus :)

I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS ABOUT TEN YEARS AGO AND THOROUGHLY REMEMBER WHAT A SHOCKING FILM THIS WAS. IT HAS SUCH SHOCKING SCENES AND THE ACTING FROM ALL CHARACTERS COULDNT BE BETTER. IT IS ABOUT FIVE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN WHO BELONG TO THE LUCIANO FAMILY AND OVER GREED AND PRIDE THEIR LOVED ONED ARE BRUTALLY MURDERED BY OPPOSING GROUPS WHO WANT THEIR ASSETS. SOME SCENES ARE TERRIFYING AND HARD TO WATCH SO BEWARE. IT IS A SAD MOVIE WITH AN INTACT STORYLINE ALL THROUGHOUT AND IM SURE YOU WOULD ENJOY IT AS A FAMILY AND IF YOURE INTO CRIME DRAMA.
