Does the arms up feature really prevent the startle reflex from waking the baby? it looks so flimsy...

They’re soft fabric but it’s a great feature if your baby also likes to have his/her hands free from the traditional arms down swaddle. Our son still had the startle reflex when we used this swaddle and we didn’t have any issues with the arms up aspect (as he also wanted to suck/chew his hands at that stage - so we weren’t having success with them tied down).

Question 2

My baby is 2 weeks 2 days old. Can I still put her in this swaddle with the arms up feature?

Sure! Some babies prefer to sleep with their arms up. We recommend you keep the cuffs closed, so the sleeves will provide partial suppression of the Startle Reflex and keep her hands close to her head. Fasten the wrap around her chest/tummy and it will help her feel more secure and sleep better.

What is the tog?

We do not use TOG on our Omni Swaddle due to the layers involved with wrapping, and the multiple ways it may be worn. The Omni has half-length sleeves with mitten cuffs that can be worn open or closed, and arms may be under the wrap or out of the wrap as well. Cotton knit is a lightweight stretchy fabric. For example, our sleeveless cotton knit sleeping sacks have a TOG of 0.7. A good rule of thumb is baby should be comfortably warm, wearing no more than one layer more than you would wear to be comfortable in the same environment.

How long are these? My baby is 22 inches at 3 weeks and have had issues where other sleep sacks are too short

I don’t know the exact length of it, but I do know it fit my son who was 22 inches at the time I bought it. He was 1 1/2 months old in size 3 month clothing and this swaddle fit him with room to grow.
