Essays on Astrology

Robert Hand is, hands down, my favorite author on the subject. I learned astrology by reading his earlier books and just really appreciate his pragmatic, clear take on things. Nothing wishy washy about his assessments.

I have been an avid Robert Hand reader for years and am so pleased to have a copy of this book again! It arrived quickly, it's exactly as described and I give this seller an A+.

I've used this author's exceptionally helpful "Planets in Transit" for many years. Its excellent information is all very well written. So I thought I'd try another of his books. I managed to get through a couple of the poorly written articles that are not too technical, but they espoused a lot of thinly explained opinions. I couldn't find anything helpful in it. I think, though, that some of the other chapters may be useful for professional astrologers, so I don't want to give it less than 3 stars.

Another amazing publication by the brilliant dr. Robert hand. He provides an in depth knowledge on the science behind astrology. Also he showcases the importance of mercury to our solar system.

Have loved the writings and talent of Rob Hand many decades and relied on his transit expertise. This book is not one of his best.

This is some heavy stuff. If you are really, really into astrology I would say go ahead, but otherwise you run the risk of it being Greek.

ロバート・ハンドが1970年代ならびに1980年代前半、占星術雑誌に発表した記事、占星術講座で話した 講義を文字起こしした文章など計13編がまとめられた一冊。13にわたる「占星術のエッセイ」で扱われた テーマは月相、ハーモニック、古代ギリシャ占星術で用いられたテクニック、歳差運動から占星術と人間の成長 とのかかわりや父親コンプレックスまで、じつに多岐にわたります。 第3章の水星にかんするエッセイ、そして第4章「マレフィック天体を巧みに扱う」エッセイは、名著 "Horoscope Symbols"（レヴュアーレヴュー済み）でのサイン、天体、アスペクト、ハウスに ついての、著者の鋭く深い洞察の数々の再来といった趣きで、読んでいてぐいぐい引き込まれてしまうほどと いえるでしょう。 地球中心の緯度（第5章）、赤緯と黄緯（第9章）ならびに高緯度でのアングル（第12章）の三章は氏が 天文学、数学、幾何学などにも通じている占星術家であることを思い出させてくれるエッセー。 第7章「トランシットへの新たなアプローチ」は、天体の黄道上での配置を読む、いわゆる私達の多くが用いる ホロスコープの読み方以外の手法、パランを用いた観点を提供した文章。通常のトランシット読みだけでは説明 がつきにくい具体例を用いてのケース・スタディは圧巻かつスリリング。 2018年現在、齢70代半ばにして、古典占星術家として鋭い知性を発揮し続けるハンド氏ですが、知性の 鋭さじたいは、氏がいまだ現代占星術に取り組んでおられた20代後半～30代の頃からなんら変わっていないのが よくわかる一冊、といえるでしょう。
