Fantastic for a great nights sleep
This is an amazing cooler on hot sticky days and nights, used a lot since buying with perfect results. Very easy to use, looks nice and whilst a quite heavy to put away in the loft in winter it has been a life saver for a comfortable sleep. Wouldn't be without one now. You pay for what you get so whilst some may thick its expensive you really can't compare to the old fashion fans that just blow hot air around your room. this not only sucks out hot air but pumps lovely cool air down to 16 degrees. Noise level is ok, can be noisy of full speed but small price to pay.

Relief for the hot weather, but beware it's noisy.
Portable air conditioners are noisy. 54 decibels on low at idle kind of noisy. Think of walking behind a restaurant and you can hear the evaporators outside – that goes for all portable air cons as the evaporator is built-in. But it's not a bad way to keep cool in the summer heat. The air in the room feels crisp and refreshing when compared to other rooms in the summer heat. In terms of energy, it costs us about £0.32 per hour to run, so it's not great not terrible in that regard. I haven't tried the dehumidification setting yet, but there is some water pooling in the built-in reservoir already – I guess I have to put it on a small table to drain it, as the opening is almost flush with the floor. We tried sleeping with it on the first night we bought it – I couldn't bare it, my partner slept like a log. I've since purchased some reusable ear plugs for around £8, and they seem to have done the trick. Last night I used the timer function for two hours until we fell asleep, and that worked well. Another thing I had to purchase was window covers, as we have top-hung, outward projecting windows in every room. They do a good job of holding the supplied cheap hose, but I am thinking I might need another hose in the near future, as the one that comes with this product is super clunky. An ideal solution would be to drill holes through the wall to and attach the hose to that, but we can't do that since we're renting. All in all, a good solution for the British heatwave. We will see how long it lasts, but for now it's been a releif having it in the home office.

Third year of use!
I'm slow to review products like this one, simply because its impossible to tell their quality over time when you first purchase them. However! Having just set it up this year, for its third year of use, I'm happy to say its still working just as well as when I first bought it. Overall, love this thing. It's my 10 y/o black labradors best friend, he loves napping in the cool air stream. And it's made the last two years summer heat spikes so much more bearable, and its now doing the same for this year too! Its pretty noisy, but thats to be expected as far as I'm concerned. No home AC unit is going to give you an absolutely silent room. But it's no issue for me, my sleep remins uninterupted by it. The window vent is a bit flimsy, so I used some padding and such to improve the seal with the window and frame. All good. It cools my room down in a matter of minutes. I like to turn it on before the room heats up to maintain a cooler temperature when able since I find this more efficient. But it can take it from, say, 24 down to 20 no problem. Sometimes have a little battle of wills with getting the cooling system to start after it's been turned off for ¾ of a year. But I can't really blame it for not wanting to wake up. I can't say I really use the timer, as I just turn it off and on as I feel is necessary. But it's a good size, not too big. And it does just exactly what I want it to. I cant claim to have stored it away meticulously, either. But its pretty easy to take the filter panels off to clean the dust and such. All in all I'm extremely happy with this, and for now 3 years of cooler sleeping conditions in summer it was very worth the price in my opinion.

Excellent cooling ability
I am an elderly lady who needs equipment that is easy to get going from point of delivery and easy to manouvre in situ. The air conditioner arrived promptly and was easy to put together. I did wait for the 6 hours advised on the outer packing and fiddled a bit with the window fitting gear, as I only have small, outward-opening top windows. The sliding gear fitted in easily and I secured it with a couple of pieces of strong, double -sided tape. I then devised a fly screen , made of plant netting and tied that on, secured with awning clips that will be easy to remove at a later date. This unit was purchased as an addition to 2 x 20 year old air conditioners which have tanks that need to be emptied of water several times a day in hot, humid weather., partly because of the fact that the new one discharges the water through its own hot air duct when in cooling mode. Having now used it, I am well-aware of the improvement in speed and fast cooling effect. It is almost enough to cool my entire 2 bedroom bungalow, but a second one will be a perfect solution in really hot weather such, as we now suffering. The only downside, is that it is a bit noisy, but I got the house cool enough yesterday, in about 4 hours, to enjoy a perfectly acceptable night temperature. I always had to use my old ones overnight and almost all day in very hot weather, so think I shall be able to get a better result with less use of electricity with this model. In addition, it is pleasing to look at and not as large as the old ones. One perhaps important point is that it has a much wider outlet hose and I am guessing that this disperses heat from the house much faster. I just hope that it lasts as long as my old ones!

Is nice and cool - but possibly not the best unit for my setup
The unit does work well as an Air Con unit. You can really feel the cold coming through it. The main issues I have had with this unit, some of which are probably on me for not doing a full research before buying are: - Noise - this is a very loud unit. I wouldnt be able to have it in my room if I was trying to sleep. Luckily, I use it in my office, where I tend to have headphones on, so it doesnt bother me too much. - How it connects to the window - My windows open outwards, where this unit is designed for sliding windows. This means, I have to have the windows to use it. Reading up on Air Con units, as you are changing air pressure in your room, the pressure is backfilled with Air outside of you room. If you have the windows open, then this would mean you are drawing warm air from outside back into your room. It does a good job at cooling a room down, but I suspect, it isnt very efficient at doing so in the way I have it configured.

Powerful Cooling for Bedrooms & Home Offices (Essential Setup Tips)
Bought this ahead of the summer heatwaves to keep a medium-sized bedroom comfortable for sleeping and working during the day. For a 9000 BTU unit, it punches well above its weight and makes a massive difference in a room within about 15–20 minutes of turning it on. The Breakdown: • Pros: The cooling efficiency is excellent. It drops the temperature of a 250 sq.ft room noticeably fast. The digital display on top is crisp and easy to read, and the remote control is brilliant for adjusting the temperature or fan speed from bed without getting up. Having the built-in 24-hour timer is a huge plus for setting it to run for just an hour or two before sleep so it shuts off automatically. • Cons: Like all portable air conditioners with a compressor, it is quite heavy to wheel around and it isn't silent. On the low fan speed, the hum is steady enough to act like white noise, but if you are an incredibly light sleeper, you will notice when the compressor kicks in. Also, the included plastic window kit is designed primarily for sliding windows; if you have standard outward-opening casement windows, you will want to buy a cheap fabric window seal separately to exhaust the hose properly. Performance & Real-World Use: Setup takes less than 10 minutes out of the box. You just attach the exhaust hose, run it out the window, and turn it on. One thing many people overlook is that the exhaust hose itself gets quite warm while pumping the heat out, so keeping the hose as short and straight as possible maximizes the cooling efficiency. The dehumidifier function is incredibly effective, but keep in mind that during very humid weeks, you will need to drain the internal water tray via the bottom plug occasionally, so keep a low tray or towel handy. Final Verdict: If you are tired of sweating through the summer months with just a fan moving hot air around, this unit is a liface-saver. It’s powerful, easy to operate, and highly reliable. Just be prepared for the typical bulk and noise of a portable unit, and make sure to grab a fabric window kit if your windows don't slide. Outstanding value for the price.

Cool, powerful and reliable, but with a few quirks
❄️ Cooling Performance I’m definitely a fan of this unit - it works very efficiently and does a great job of cooling larger spaces. At 9,000 BTU, it’s powerful enough to comfortably control the temperature in a good-sized room, and it’s been a real lifesaver during the summer months here in the UK. I did notice a bump in my electricity usage - I’d estimate around 5-10kWh extra depending on how often it’s running - but that’s to be expected with any air conditioner. 🏃♂️ Mobility & Build It’s a heavy unit, so moving it around isn’t the easiest task - especially on carpet. On smooth flooring, the wheels make it a bit more manageable. The filters are easy to clean, and I really like the built-in cable organiser and plug slot on the back, which makes it tidy to store when not in use. 💨 Functions & Features The dehumidifier function is a handy extra, and the swing mode helps circulate air - though it only moves the fan guard up and down, not side to side, which limits how widely the cool air spreads. If you’re cooling a larger space, you’ll probably need to angle it manually or move it around slightly. 🪟 Vent & Window Fit The included vent hose is about 160 cm fully extended, so you might struggle if your window is far from where you want to position the unit. One thing to note for UK homes: most windows open outwards, which means there’s usually a small gap that reduces efficiency unless you get a proper seal. The unit only comes with a sliding cover - not a soft one to fully seal your window - so you’ll likely want to purchase that separately. 📱 Missing Smart Features It’s worth noting that this model doesn’t have Wi-Fi or app control, which would have been really useful for pre-cooling a room before getting home. Not a deal-breaker, but something to consider if you like smart home features. ✅ Overall Despite a few limitations, this is a solid and reliable portable air conditioner. It cools quickly, handles humidity well, and is powerful enough for most UK homes. A couple of extras (like Wi-Fi and a full window seal) would make it perfect, but as it stands, it’s a strong performer and one I’d recommend - especially when the heatwaves hit.

Doesn’t actually cool so is just an expensive fan!
Probably the worst purchase I’ve made from Amazon because it’s just not fit for purpose. In its favour the unit is compact and not as noisy as I’d expected. However that’s pretty much where the positives end. I left it to settle upright in the box as suggested following transportation before placing in position in front of the window with adequate space around the unit. The hose etc was easy to attach and of good quality compared with my previous Delonghi unit. Setting up was fairly self explanatory and easy. Having checked window seals were in place, sufficient space around the unit, settings and that the hose was connected properly it was time to switch it on, close the room up and give it time to work it’s magic. An hour later I returned with the expectation that the room would be chilled. Sadly this wasn’t the case. Upon checking it the unit was expelling room temperature air only as per a fan and not chilled air. I disconnected all parts, rechecked window seals etc and tried again only to have the same problem. Still hoping it would miraculously work I left it on for longer and stayed in the room noting intermittent bursts of cool air but no continual cooling. Instead it just pumped room temperature air around the room giving the same effect as a £20 desk fan! This is my 3rd a/c unit over the years having bought it to replace a more expensive Delonghi Pinguino which gave up the ghost after less than 2 yrs. So I do have some awareness of how they work & how to make them work effectively etc. I realise many have left positive reviews for this item with a few stating the same issue as my unit so perhaps it’s not a common problem. However in this instance the unit is not fit for purpose and therefore has been a total waste of time and money. Will be returned and I can not recommend the product based on my experience.
