2026, still the best all rounder
I had one of these on launch that broke, and since tried the Audeze Maxwell, Logitech Astro A50, Razer Blackhawk V4, and the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro. Mid 2026 and I've come back to these as the best compromise of all factors. + Well rounded sound (not tinny like the Razer, not as good as the Astro) + Outstanding battery life, nothing comes close + 10/10 comfort, ear cup fit. You don't realise how much lightness matters til you've tried a headset that weighs twice as much + Simple, robust build and feature set. Doesn't require any software to use full functionality + Decent sidetone/mic monitoring option (hold down the mute button for a few seconds) ~ Okay microphone, acceptable but I think all rivals were better - Not a fan of the red and black colourway but given all the positives I can live with it

HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless headset
Pros: - Killer battery life - Comfortable - Solid sound quality - DTS - Works with PC / PlayStation console Cons - A tad pricey - Not the best microphone - Not as versatile - Software buggy - Doesn't work with Xbox console I just purchased the HyperX Cloud Alpha wireless headset from black Friday sale. I feel I need to leave a detailed review so people can get a better understanding on these headset. Be aware! Amazon made a mistake in "details" on the product, states 2 years licence only for the DTS, this is false, it is lifetime (contacted HyperX to confirm). Due to being visually impaired, when I first used the headset I struggled defining the difference between the left and right earcup, I would recommend braille or another way to determine the difference. Battery The main selling point of the Cloud Alpha Wireless is its killer battery life with 300 hours on a single charge. While using the headset it lasted me two days without having to re-charge the battery, even when playing games all day. Comfort, design, and build quality While superb battery life alone doesn't make a great headset, and those using headset during a long gaming session will agree that comfort might be even more important. Over the past years I've tested many headphones that felt great at first then after a few hours of use, the discomfort beings. These headset is so comfortable but not the lightest on the market, however, you can get cooling gel earpad options. I would recommend purchasing extra pads with cooling-gel, this is to make the headset more comfortable if you don't like breathable leather or sweat a lot. Design-wise, is exactly, the same feel to the wired version, although it's slightly larger, but, the new wireless model doesn't fold and the earcups cannot be turned. The build quality of the headset is what users can expect from HyperX cloud series, solid build headset with durable and reliable materials, with easy to adjust fitting for your liking. Sound performance Majority of HyperX headsets, sound quality is pretty great, offering a varied soundscape with plenty of separation, especially when used in games. Unfortunately again, the bass appears to be slightly boosted sometimes, but the lowers don't drown out the less distant sounds. Sound isolation is excellent as expected on the product. Sound customization options through the HyperX NGenuity software are decent enough, including EQ presents and a DTS Spatial sound feature, be WARNED this doesn't carry over for PlayStation players and compared to the software of some other brands. The only issue I occurred while using these headsets is the DTS sometimes not working and the headset cutting out every time I launch a new game or alt-tab out of the game, however, this could be down to Call Of Duty Warzone. Closing thoughts I would recommend this headset to gamers out there, especially if want a good immersion into the games.

Sudden failure of plastic screw fixtures leave me with a useless headset.
Reasonable sound quality headset with great battery life but sudden failure of plastic screw fixtures for right ear cup leaves the headset useless. Had this headset for just under 2 years, was reasonably happy with it until today. Headset started showing stress fractures in the plastic housing that holds the ear cups in place about a year ago, not great but thought nothing of it as everything was secure and solid. Completely out of the blue I picked my headset up today and the right ear cup came off in my hands at the lightest touch - on investigation the screw fixtures within the plastic housing have failed (see second picture), no way to fix this short of gluing it back together as a temp fix. Really disappointing, might expect this of a budget headset but not when you're paying £100+ for a 'gaming' headset. Will avoid HyperX when getting a replacement.

Good headset with bad software and missed opportunity
The headphones are good great sound snd Battery lasts a very long time. I am not a fan of the base station I wish it includer a normal small Dongle and you could choose to use the base station or only the dongle. What really lets this Headset down though is the new inquity app not saving presets or things you changed its in beta seems crazy to me that they would release this Headset with it relying on a beta app with so many bugs. I have used hyper x headsets for a long time have had multiple and the software has never been this bad before. Good Headset letdown by bad software and in my opinion a missed opertunity to include a smaller dongle you could plug in without the base station or even swap it between them if you don't want to use the base station

Extremely good battery, perfect for FPS games
I bough them a month ago and upon the order delivery the battery was at 70%. After a month of playing (usually every day for a couple of hours) the battery is at 50% (I didn't charge them even once yet). I've heard the battery is good, but honestly I wouldn't dream of that good. I'm using those headphones mainly for CSGO game and they are great. I always know where the enemy is coming from. Compared with SteelSeries 7 that I've used before, I feel that HyperX headphones are slightly better in competitive FPS games. It's worth noting, that the microphone is also great and its noise cancellation is doing a great job. I'm sitting very close to my partner when playing games (we're about 1.5 meter apart with the monitors in-between us) and my mic is not picking his voice, which is great. Also, they are so comfortable! In my previous headphones, my ears felt stiff after a few games. In those I can play a while night and there's no ear pain at all. Theres only one downside I've noticed. If the mic is muted, the red light on it will turn on, which is great. But the mic has a tendency of falling out of its socket (it's falling enough for the lighting to stop working, but not enough for the mic to stop working), which is slightly annoying. But it's not happening very often and only when moving the mic a lot. Whenever I'll notice that the light is off all the time I'm just trying to re-attach it properly and so far it's working fine. So far it happened 3 times. The design is cool, you can feel the high quality build. The metal parts used in the design are really robust and they don't feel like you could bend them (even though those are so thin). So overall I'm very happy with the buy, it was really worth the money. I guess those are not one of the cheapest headphones, but your getting many extra features which are worth it. And did I say it already? The battery!

Not good enough
I bought this item on 35% discount. My previous Cloud Alpha Wireless 1 was 3.5 year old I wanted to upgrade. The build quality of this headset is objectively very good. For me, it was not as comfy as 1, because clamp was stronger, and the pressure created on the ear was stronger. Still, it looks durable and the sound isolation is better than 1. The headset sat confortably on my head. The volume wheel on the 2 is worse than 1, because you can't tell the steps clearly, if feels low quality. Also there is no number to know exactly at which step you are at. Unfortunately, no matter what you tweak (spatial/dolby, hardware/software EQ or not), the sound on this headset is NOT better than Cloud Alpha Wireless 1. Simple as. I followed countless guides, did my own advanced tweaking following some outstanding guides on Reddit, including one to get Harman 2018 quality, but Cloud Alpha Wireless 1 is simply crispier, clearer, punchier, more vibrant where it needs to be. (I did not do a spatial sound comparison, because I mostly don't use spatial sound, and can say both are equally bad). The NGENUITY software has matured - but not enough. It will install 6+ channels no matter what you do, and most of them are useless (incl. the 8 channel one - as I said, spatial audio is pointless). You can customise stuff, but it's buggy. Switching between software EQ was not working for me until I created more than 1. Trying to reset anything does not work - there is no default option, switching off the lights of the dongle does not work. Some options like setting up sleep just keep on being unset even after you set them. The dongle is OK, it's higher quality than it looks (except for the flaky on/off button). However, as a relative minimalist I don't like its purpose, yes it can be convenient but it's mostly just bright and telling everyone you are a gamer. The bluetooth on this headset will stop working out of the blue, in fact it didn't work more than it did in my case. This is a huge missed opportunity. This is not a Cloud Alpha Wireless 1+ headset, it is a minus in almost all categories. The sound is worse, the shape is at best equal, the comfort is worse, the bloat is worse. I have used 1 for 3.5 years and it melted into my head perfect, and I realised just recently how spoiled I was. I really wanted to love this product, but I do not recommend it. Not at half price, not at any price.

Good headphones but missing features for the price
I got these headphones primarily for work, as I wanted a wireless headset (mic necessary) with the longest battery life possible so that I didn't need to worry about charging them. I have not been able to test the entire length of the battery life yet so I can't speak to that but I have no reason to believe that all the other reviews that say it really is as long as the claimed life would be lying. This is immediately a huge selling point over other wireless headsets that don't even come close to that kind of battery life. There are however other issues with the headset that I can comment on. Starting off with by far the biggest issue: there is NO other form of connectivity than the provided USB connector. So no bluetooth, no 3.5mm, and you can't even use it while they are charging. This is a huge negative overall. With a headset with an integrated battery, EVENTUALLY, that battery will stop holding a charge, at that point the whole headset becomes E-waste as there is no other way you can use it besides battery power. The replacement process may not be that difficult but that doesn't permit this behaviour. And no, the warranty wouldn't cover it for that length either. Besides that problem, it's also just disappointing I can't easily use it on any device that doesn't have a full sized USB port, i.e. my phone. Adding bluetooth may have impacted the overall battery life this headset has but there should be ways to design a product that minimises that impact, which they have already done with the rest of the components in here. Audio quality is a somewhat subjective thing, so take this with a grain of salt, but overall the audio performance of this headset is good. At the end of the day however, these are a closed-back set of headphones, which (IMO) always sounds worse than open-back headphones. DTS spatial audio does a good job of making up for the lost sound-space - it picks up small sound details in games really well - but everything tends to sound especially bass-y which is unavoidable with a closed-back design. Again this is subjective, frankly a lot of bass in games can be fun, but when it comes to music or any other media, it's not what I prefer. Comfort wise, they're good, but not perfect (again this is slightly subjective). It's about the same experience I had with my first gen wired cloud's. They don't put any particular strain on my head, however once in a while I'll just have to take the ear cups of my ear to let it breathe for a minute. This is even with a more breathable velour material ear cup that I have for them, not the leatherette ones it comes with. My HD599's I can wear indefinitely with no comfort issues. The microphone is sub par. It really doesn't sound much better than the original HyperX cloud's, and it's quite quiet, however it has the limitation of being a tiny mic attached to a headset, so not much more can be expected. The closed back design provides an amount of passive noise isolation that may be important to some people, but it's important to note that there's no active noise isolation of any kind, which can now be found on even much cheaper headsets. And that leads me to my final point. This headset is EXPENSIVE. I got them for £111 on sale, but they're usually £160-£190 on here. That's about the same as what my much better sounding (but non-wireless and no mic) HD599's cost. That's a considerable amount of money, and considering all the features you're missing on here, you're giving up a lot solely for the battery life. As mentioned however, that battery life is a key selling point that no other wireless headset on the market provides, so if it's REALLY what you need, it's your only option. However I would suggest looking in to other headsets below and around this price range if you think you can settle for charging them once a week.

If this headset is ever discontinued, I will cry
I have gone through many headsets over the years, from many different brands and I have to say that these are my absolute favourite. i've had two pairs since 2022, and the only reason I had to replace my first pair is because I had broken the USB bluetooth connector (not because of any build quality reasons, accidentally flung my laptop across my room and it happened to land on the side where it was plugged in, which snapped it in half.) I can 100% confirm they aren't lying about the battery life. I use these for minimum 7 hours a day, and frequently up to 14 or so hours in a day, and even with that I charge them maybe once a month, and most of the time I don't even fully charge them, usually to around 40-60%, just because I usually have them charging while I use them, and having the cable attached annoys me. The build quality is great. A lot of my previous headsets have been lost due to me accidentally stepping on them (dont question how) But I can confirm that even with me stepping on these a couple times, theyve held up great. The only thing that comes close to a drawback with the build quality comes in the plastic blocks on either end of the headband, and the leather on the underside of the headband and the earmuffs. With the plastic blocks, a piece has cracked off on once side, and there is a crack that has formed on the other side. Although, this is likely more due to me being a bit heavy handed, and/or clumsy with them. Then, with the fake leather, after over 2 years of daily use, it has started to peel and flake away, but that is to be expected with any headset that sees this much use, and im surprised it took as long as it did to start showing wear. Onto the functions of the headset itself, the buttons are easy to operate - a simple power button and mic mute on the left, and a volume dial on the right. Not much more to say on those, other than they are positioned in pretty intuitive places. Although I don't use the mic included anymore, (upgraded when I moved from laptop to a PC) I did use it for a while and can say that I never had any issues with it. I wouldnt expect to be landing any voice acting roles with it, but it is certainly clear enough to not cause the ears of those listening to you to bleed. The microphone is adjustable too, and it holds the position you put it in pretty well. In terms of sound quality - I've never been too fussy about sound quality, as long as it doesnt sound terrible im happy, and this does that just fine. I frequently use it for gaming, especially games where sound cues are important, and I've never had any issues. It also can get pretty loud Lastly, this is an incredibly comfortable headset. The weight is good, and it isnt too tight. I personally like to listen to music when I sleep, and have slept in these just fine on multiple occasions. Overall, 100% worth the money. I believe you would have to search quite hard to find an equivalent headset at the same price
