Does this really go to 90 Brix, or does it require dilution and conversion?

It has been awhile since I used it -- but if the add said it will measure that high, I believe it will.

How do you calibrate it?

I assume you are planning to measure something like sugar content of a mixture like grape juice before fermentation or maple syrup. Make up a simple sugar solution similar to what you want to measure. (You might need a balance to do it accurately.) Measure it with the Brix Meter and compare to what it should have measured. You might have to search the web for details of the concentrations you want. I hope this helps.
