What is the pressure rating? Is it adjustable at all?

Im not sure what the default pressure rating is. There is no way to change it without modding the machine. The pressure is regulated by a simple spring. You can buy different springs to swap out online. You only need a small spanner to do this and it would only take a few minutes to achieve. There are many Youtube videos teaching you how. I would watch one to see if this is the way to go for you. A set of springs will cost you less than £10.00

Is it worth it without mods?

Yes. You just need to learn it's rhythm. Gives a great cup of espresso for the money.
