No you put the lid/ brush screwed on shake it to clean then put it back on the bottle it belongs to.

It has acetone in it but also 1-nitropropane

How does brush restorer work? Can I use with other brands?

You simply put your brush into the bottle, seal and shake. I don't know if 8t would work with other brands
