I forgot how nice British malt vinegar was since I visited England decades ago. You don't get a lot of malt vinegar, but what you do get is EXCELLENT. Would recomment to manufacturer to also offer glass bottles and larger sizes---in glass. Otherwise, keep up the good work. Put this in your pantry for your vinegar collection.

I grew up with this. Only kind I buy for fish and chips. Malt vinegar has a milder flavour than regular vinegar and doesn't overpower the fish (unless you use too much). However, this bottle used to have a removable top to allow for refilling. This looked like it should in the picture, it did not. Perhaps it should state this in the description. Someone in the reviews said theirs did have a removable top, mine didn't. This was the reason I gave it a five rating.

When back home I douse, no, drown my chips (aka: fries) in this stuff. My hubby (American) and family (English) alike cannot abide by how much I put on but it's sheer love. I can drink this stuff, not that I actually do. The stuff is definitely an acquired taste but if you're looking at this you probably know exactly what you're getting. I struggle to eat fries without it, unless they're heavily salted or disguised by ketchup (which is inferior to vinegar) and other fish and chip lovers will understand that emptiness you get eating fries without it. I bought it online as Pathmark and other stores do not seem to have true malt vinegar. I've not even found the Heinz malt here in NYC. Thankfully it's not too expensive though I would probably consider bringing bottles over next time I'm visiting home. So nice to have American food with this stuff. Would also say I normally buy glass not the plastic bottle Sarsons Malt Vinegar so cannot attest do differences there but there may be a difference.

Any type of fish. Excellent flavor. Spouts out sparingly. Mild acidity. No odor.

Tasty, but the bottle is plastic. So you have to wonder about BPA and other undesirable chemicals leaching into the vinegar. Too bad. I will not buy again.

If you want the classic British chippy taste at home, this is it. The plastic bottle makes it a safer, more user-friendly choice for the dinner table.

Top is fixed so you cannot refill this. This is disgraceful by Sarsons. I would be happy to purchase a 5ltr of Sarsons vinegar if this was the case. Heres an idea Sarsons, produce a screw top bottle as you used to and sell that with a 5ltr refill, or keep filling landfill or keeping recycling centres busy, ridiculous and unnecessary.

simply the best

This is a great traditional vinegar, which always reminds me of going to a good fish and chip shop. A few months ago I bought an 'artisan vinegar' for several times the price of Sarsons. I wrote in my review of that, that it was inferior to good traditional vinegar like this. I shall not be repeating my mistake in spending over the odds on an 'artisan' product!
