Great item for the kitchen
This is my second one of these. The first one lasted ten years and then the open sensor failed on one side. I bought another. I like the two sides, and use one for recycling and the other for trash. If your hands are dirty it is great that the lid will open and you can drop in whatever you want to get rid of and then it closes automatically.I am a single person and don't throw away a lot of stuff. Check the size of the containers to make sure this will work for you also.

HATE the plastic ring designed to hold the bag in place
I never leave reviews. In fact, I have never left one before. I have the double can, & have had it for 2-3 months. I love the concept of the can. But, I’m starting to hate it. My husband already does. 1st, the ring thing which is supposed to hold the bag in place DOES NOT WORK! EVERY TIME someone pushes something down in (whether the bag is full or nearly empty), the plastic thing falls off the rim of the removable, internal can, INTO THE CAN, essentially negating point of a having bag at all. Then, in order to change the bag, I have to reach INTO the can to find the plastic thing to pull it up & remove the top of the bag from it in order to even pull the bag out of the can. Many times I even have to REMOVE TRASH to find it, not to mention my arm gets COVERED in gross stuff. It actually MAKES the mess the can is supposed to prevent. It’s awful. Maybe I don’t know how it works, but the little handles on the ring ensure the bag isn’t secure around it, anyhow. My husband refuses to change it, because it’s too hard to figure out how to put a new bag in. I agree. My kids CAN’T change because it already makes a mess when I do it, & I can’t imagine the mess it would make for them, AND because it’s to hard to put a new bag in. In order to avoid the mess, I have to change the bag before it’s even half full, & check the ring every time I put something in. And 2nd, even when the can gets naturally full, the bag itself isn’t full. I end up leaving the bag next to the can, continuing to add trash through the day until it’s full enough to take out. Why even have a can at all?! The can does NOT hold anywhere near full capacity, wasting bags. If the plastic ring were able to hold the bag up securely, AND had a little larger capacity, I’d love the can. But I just can’t love something which causes so much headache. I’m going to shop for a new one & take this one to my rarely used 2nd home.

Low Quality for $170
For almost $200, I expected this garbage can's features to be more efficient.First, it doesn't come with batteries. For a purchase that's this expensive, it just seems like cutting corners to not include the (4) D batteries needed.Second, the motion sensor requires you to nearly touch it in order for it to work. That small range makes it nearly a moot point to get a can with a motion sensor. Also, getting the top off to take out the bins for garbage and recycling is a pain. There's two clips on the inside that you have to push first before the top will release. Why not just put them on the side where the handles are located so that you can grip the handles, unpack the top, and lift it off. Or even better: make it so you can retrieve the bins from the motion sensor opening lid.The casters supplied are cheap, plastic garbage. I'm not expecting them to last long. Each side of the bin is only 8 gallons. So it fills up quickly. To top it off, the flimsly plastic retainer ring doesn't hold up to the weight of the garbage placed into it. Causing your bag to fall in. It also smudged immediately upon trying to remove it from the packaging.I'll be replacing this bin soon with another one that actually does what this bin was designed to do. I can't believe it it was nearly $200 for a GARBAGE CAN that isn't even good at doing what it's built for.

Terribly fiddly, but good once figured out
Original review is below, but I have to admit this is a good product once you figure out not to bother engaging the clips for the top and develop a system for securing the bag to the retaining ring. It took a good bit of fiddling, but now I find I enjoy the purchase.*******************This is an expensive PoS of a garbage can. The top is secured by two interior clips that require you to reach into the garbage to release them to access the two plastic internal bins. The main issue is that the system for changing and securing the bags is a tragic mess. The sadist that designed the method of securing a garbage bag really should be commended if the plan was to frustrate users. The flimsy plastic ring easily falls into the bin taking the bag with it, and the handle to remove the bin interferes perfectly with the ability to use the two retention clips for the flimsy plastic ring. If this wasn't such a PITA to return, I would send it back.

It's not cheap but it's worth every penny in the end
Having one of these trash cans again is like getting back with an old love. The one that was amazing but you didn't realize it until they were gone. We bought one of these a while back and while there was nothing truly wrong with it, I guess I was mildly bothered by the holes in the lid for your fingers. I also thought it was just a lot more can than we needed and wanted to sell it and try to make some money and then buy some cheaper cans. We ended up with 2 cans of different sizes and found it to be a huge hassle in trying to empty them both at the same time. And they just didn't look good sitting out there next to each other. This can has handles and one can very easily take the trash and recycling out at the same time. This isn't cheap but it works reliably, it's really easy to empty the cans at the same time, and it looks great.

Great at first, but it won't last.
We purchased this to replace a single automatic open can that was starting to die, and it was great at first. However, about 2 years on, it's time to move on from this one, too. Given the price of it, I don't feel good about this purchase and will avoid this brand entirely in the future.First, the retaining ring system for bags is not very pleasant to deal with, and we actually had one of the rings break very early on. We stopped using the rings altogether some time ago.The bigger issue is that one of the lids has almost entirely stopped working. It opens slowly, and never fully closes, unless the button is pressed repeatedly or the lid is manually forced down. The area and unit is clean, and new batteries don't help. These sensor-open units just aren't up to long term use, and for the price they really ought to hold up better. I'm disappointed, both to need to replace this item and to have yet another large piece of trash to have to dispose of.I'm going to get an old-fashioned all steel step-open unit with dual zones, and it will cost less, but I'm positive that without electronics it will last many years. I recommend you do the same.

Short, holds a lot, rolls.
Love the wheels! Off the ground and no foot step to open means the bottom stays very clean, no dust, no cat hair. The wheels are small, but work well enough. I can roll to sink or stove when needed, helps keep the floor clean. It's a lot shorter than I thought it would be, but each bin actually holds more than my oval, much taller stainless steel trash cans. The lids, even without the charger, open so easily. I don't use the top pieces that are meant to secure the trash bags - I don't want to clean them, and the trash bags stay in place without them. Having recycling and trash in one bin is really nice.

Avoid the Dual-Compartment
I had plenty of issues with this trash can when it arrived. First and foremost, I needed another option because our puppy had learned how to open our trash can and was eating the trash when we weren't looking. This really didn't serve that purpose because my dog stuck his head over the can and it opened it for him. This is no fault of the can, but keep that in mind if that is why you are looking at this. I wound up going with a can at the fraction of the price that had no lip my dog could flip up.I think, for the most part, most people are used to changing their trash bags like this: open the lid, take out inner can, remove bag, replace bag. Well this can makes things 10x harder. It literally goes like this: open lid (both), unlock lid, remove and separate lid, remove inner cans, remove bag holders, remove bag, replace bag, reassemble. With the cans only being 8 gallons, chances are you going to be replacing the bags a lot and spending a lot of time doing it.It would have been better if the lid hinged open, rather than coming off and lock/unlocking from the outside rather than the inside. Further, the can's lid latch arrived broken and partially snapped off. Poor quality control for the price there.Lastly, the can itself was shocking me (literally, not figuratively) every time I touched it after I turned it on with batteries. I get that it is "touchless", but you have to touch it to move it, replace bags, etc. This tells me there was poor / no grounding in the circuit. Again, poor QC for the price.TL/DR; this is a garbage garbage can. Go with something else.

This is a really nice unit.
This is a really nice unit... Really enjoying the no touch opening so handy when cooking or doing dishes. It looks great, and the tops open so easy it seems like the batteries last forever. Love it!!!

It was a good purchase.
The review here was very mix. But I am not regretting buying there. It works very well.

automatic lid broke twice
The automatic lid broke several months after using this item, and it was was replaced for a fee by the manufacturer. 7 months later, the lid again stopped working on the one side. It would not go up automatically. The manufacture would not provide a replacement lid under warranty (which is 1 year) or provide any discount to replace it. It took several days and attempts to contact customer service. I dont recommend this product due to the high failure rate and limited customer support available.

Es funcional para espacios grandes
Tiene lindo diseño, la tapa no me parece que sea del mejor material, hay que cuidarlo mucho para que dure. Me gustó el sistema automático de abrir y cerrar las tapa
