I went with the unflavored version on purpose because I like controlling what goes into my body. No mystery sweeteners, no surprise flavorings...just collagen. And to be fair, it delivers exactly that. The powder feels clean and fine, not clumpy or gritty straight out of the container. It has that “simple ingredient, no nonsense” vibe. It dissolves really well in liquids, especially when stirred into something warm. I’ve mixed it into homemade orange juice and even apple cider vinegar drinks(ACV). No floating clumps, no weird texture if you stir it properly. It truly has no flavor… which somehow makes you aware that it has no flavor. It’s neutral, but I personally find it easier to mix into something with a bit of punch, like citrus juice or ACV, just so my brain feels like something is happening. After consistent use, I’ve noticed subtle improvements especially in nail strength. My nails feel less brittle and grow a bit more steadily. Skin-wise, it’s not a dramatic overnight transformation, but it does feel a bit more hydrated and balanced over time. Like most supplements, this isn’t magic. It’s more of a “small improvements over time” situation. The key is consistency. It’s not the cheapest collagen out there, but the quality and simplicity make it worth it. I’ve been taking this collagen powder for over 5 years. I am 70 years old now. People are very surprised to learn my age because my face looks younger and my hair is thicker with very little silver hairs. Vital Proteins is a great product and the new container is eco-friendly which is important to me. The powder is tasteless when added to coffee, juice or even soda. It’s designed to meld into the taste of your drink. I highly recommend this to women and men of any age.

Excellent product and price. Brought my nails back to life. They were like flaking/peeling on the actual nail bed, not growing and breaking easily when they did grow. It looked so bad like I didn’t care about myself. I tried putting oil and stuff on them and it didn’t work. I already knew collagen makes my nails grow fast, but I ran out of the more expensive brand I was sticking to weeks ago. I put this in my existing smoothie and my nail beds instantly smoothed over and solidified within three days and started growing again. I’ve never known college to do anything for my hair or skin or anything else by the way, but my nails clearly require it. And for me to find one that works at this price is just so amazing. I was using the Andrew lessman brand because other cheaper priced brands just flat out didn’t work, so I thought it was one of those you get what you pay for products. Nope! Huge skeptic at first but i was determined to add a couple of healthy habits to my routine. One month now into taking it and will say I can see (as well as others) the difference! My face has definitely gotten brighter, smoother and plumper, constantly getting compliments if i changed my skincare or not. I've never had joint issues specifically regarding pain so i don't see much of a change there... my nails have also gotten way stronger! they use to be so brittle and broke easily when I tried opening a box or just any simple task. My nails would also be so easy to break after a shower since for some reason water made them extremely flexible but the collagen has made them stronger over the course of taking this consistency over a one month period. A couple of things i sorta dislike about this is that it does not dissolve well in cold drinks, actually lumps up and looks strange in my almost as if the milk has curdled in an ice coffee or gone bad. Second, it has no flavoring but it changes your drink... not in a bad way but there's a flavor change and might even argue that it makes your drinks slightly thick? Then again I add all 4 tablespoons in one drink instead of splitting them up throughout the day. In conclusion, this works!

Now that I am in the 50+ club I am wanting to take better care of myself, as well as increase my protein intake (wish I would have wanted to do this when I was a little younger). I must say that I am rather impressed with Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides Powder - so much so that my husband has started taking it as well. There is no flavor so he mixes in his coffee and I mix in my probiotic drink. I will say that his mixes a little better than mine because he is putting in a hot drink but as long as I stir as I pour mine mixes pretty good in a cold drink. I have also added to my oatmeal. My hair feels thicker, my nails are growing and this give me the increase in protein I wanted. The only downside is how much per server (4 tablespoons) so you only get 13 servings for the size I purchased. I did find this at Costco for a larger size which ended up being less per server. We will continue taking this as part of our daily routine.

Pros: no smell Cons: don't like the taste, i guess I'm sensitive to taste and smells but i can pick up a taste and i don't know if I'll be able to finish the whole container. It has a smell-taste. Have you ever sanded or ground down bone? Like deer antler or cow hoof? That burnt smell that the keratin puts off? That's what it tastes like. Like I'm drinking powdered ground-up antlers 🫎. My husband makes knives and uses horns and antlers for the handles and when he's sanding and grinding the handle down to smooth it off, this is what I smell in his shop. Unfortunately, this is also what i taste when i drink the powder. I have tried mixing it in with my smoothies to hide the taste but the first time I did this, it turned a 32 oz smoothie into a 72 oz+ smoothie. It Made the smoothie very frothy, voluminous, and it took me a long time to drink because there was so much of it but there was no taste. The second time, i mixed it in with my smoothie I put a scoop of the powder in my smoothie after I had already mixed it. This time it coagulated the powder. It didn't have a taste because it was in the smoothie, but every so often it felt like I was eating clumps of boogers and that made it hard to suppress my gag reflex. Another time I mixed it with a soft drink. I put a scoop in a glass and then I poured the soft drink in the glass and it bubbled over, kind of like when you mix baking soda and vinegar to make a volcano. It was a frothy, bubbly, 7th grade science experiment gone wrong. I went ahead and drank it after cleaning up the counter and cabinets but that also coagulated the powder and i was back to square 1 with boogers in my drink. My only option at this point is to mix it with the least amount of water suggested (8 oz) and just shotgun the drink after I mix it so that I don't have to taste the powdered antlers. I am determined to finish it to see what results I get and because i paid for it but it definitely does have a taste. At this point, i haven't seen any noticeable improvements in my hair, skin or nails after about 3 weeks on the powder. Will update if that changes. Update: delivered Mar 20, today is May 2, I've been taking 1-2 scoops nearly every day since it was delivered give or take 1-3 days where i forgot, so far, I've only noticed stronger nails. I used to have strong nails but, of course, with age that changed. Last few years I've had gel put on my nails and my nails are always so weak and soft after just one gel manicure that I usually don't do them again for a month or so. I've noticed that this time around my nails were so strong after taking the gel off. I also do my nails at home, i know gel manis aren't the best for your nails but i don't buff my nails as hard and the products i use aren't commercial so they don't last as long. Anyway, that is one noticeable improvement, my nails actually have a lot of length to them and they are so strong. It doesn't take long for my nails to grow but i would always cut them down bc i knew that they are softer and would just bend and break and then i just cut them all the same length bc i don't like having different length nails. Another thing that i learned is that the product doesn't clump and congeal if i mix it with room temperature tap water. I was getting my water from the fridge and it is cold and that may have been causing the gross collagen boogers after mixing it. I'm fact, the directions say to mix with tap water or room temperature water or something to that effect. I don't remember reading that the first time so i tried it about 1 week ago and i haven't had to chew any collagen boogers since. So that is my review after one solid month and a half of taking this brand. I will be trying another brand with more collagen types in it (Beyond Collagen with biotin) just to expand my horizons and to see if i notice any changes in my hair or skin with a different brand. Also, i DO NOT recommend the vanilla-flavored collagen, that is such a disgusting, artificial taste that it leaves that i would rather stick with the ground antlers tastes. I threw the whole vanilla container out because it tasted so gross.

I initially mixed up between this product and the other one same brand but different packaging. This one is 20g per scoop, the plastic packaging is smaller is sizer, cheaper but less collagen per scoop (10g).
