Works great!
This product worked perfectly! I have never been able to wear boots because of my calves. This stretched the shaft of the boot so I not only can get them on but have room and the shape of the boot is still perfect! It took a little time to figure out how it worked since there are no directions but yes it is totally worth the money.

Solid and heavy- works great!
So far this has worked great. I have used both the lower and upper mechanisms to stretch the tops and instep of several pairs of boots. Currently have it in a tall boot I can’t get in because the heel cup is very narrow, hoping it does the trick on it too. I do think it would help to add some dry silicone to the moving parts to make them easier to move and turn.

Defective and Poorly Designed Boot Stretcher
I read a lot of reviews and looked at several pictures before making the decision to invest in a singular $200 boot stretcher. I think I’ve encountered not only bad luck, but received a defective and poorly designed tool. The reviews didn’t joke about just how heavy it is. It weighs in at 6.8 pounds. Please *look closely* at the pictures I’ve attached and you will see it measures in at 14” in length, yet the average woman’s knee high boots are 16”. My boots in the photo are 18”. This means it would take 4 days to stretch leather boots (2 days if you buy two stretcher for $400). Day 1 stretch the lower calf and ankle area. Day two stretch upper calf area. Day 3 and 4 to perform the same on the second boot. Now notice the shaft in one of the photos the mechanism is bent and the pin in the shaft fell out. This caused the stretcher to become stuck in my $400 Frye boots. I had to cut the stitching to remove the boot stretcher. I hope I can find a skilled cobbler capable of sewing them back together. In addition to the bent shaft and pin falling out, I also cut my hand and bleed on my boots because that sharp metal pin on the handle also is falling out. Thank goodness my boots are black and brown leather to hide the blood stains.

Great!
Great item! Works well and does a great job stretching those tight boots. You might need just a quick spray of WD-40 on the threads right out of the box, just a little stiff at first.

Instructions
I was ready to return it and write a 1 star review, but I'm glad I didn't! After trying to get it to operate without much success, I took a good look at the mechanisms. They needed lubrication. I sprayed all the moving parts with dry silicone. Next, I really looked at how the scissor gears worked. Each end/separate mechanism operates independently. The handle had 2 settings. One pulled up to use the upper gears and one push in completely to use the lower gears. Once I figured it out and had it lubricated, it worked fantastic! An instruction sheet would have been so helpful! Hope this helps!

How do you use this thing?
I feel like this is a durable product. It’s very heavy weight and would be seemingly effective. If only I could figure out how to make it work. Please provide instructions!

Worth the Squeeze
I bought this device to stretch my high end boots. The incline to get into the boot is high and calf shaft is narrow. This device was able to widen the shaft and incline. It is costly but is does the trick. I stretched my boots for days not hours and I used the spray that is recommended to help with the stretching process. The mechanics of the device is tricky and it did get jammed but I was able to free the device. It didn't get caught in my boot it was locked into itself. It takes practice but you will get the hang of it . I wear a size 8 but I had to upsize the boot to a 9 because it is known to be a tight fit. I can now wear my boots as intended.

Stretched tight vamp of heavy leather work boots
I have very high instep. I also injured one foot years ago resulting in loss of a muscle on the side of one foot such that if I have a comfortable boot on one foot the other is too loose or too tight. As a result, I fit my heavy steel toe workboots to the smaller foot so that the boots don't cause blisters, but the larger foot suffers due to the extreme tightness of the vamp cutting off circulation across my instep. Regular shoe/boot stretchers have never been successful in stretching the vamp any noticeable degree. However, this device successfully stretched the vamp in one application overnight! It is expensive, but I will use it on every pair of boots I buy from this point going forward. The instructions were easy to understand, though it is not a complicated device. It is all metal. I have not had an uncomfortable minute since removing the device from my boot.
