Odyssey Golf Chipper (Putter/Wedge)

My husband was very impressed with the Odyssey golf chipper! It has made short shots around the green much easier and more consistent for him. He reports the club feels well balanced, provides good control, and helps improve his confidence on tricky chip shots.

I have practiced a lot with this chipper. It is good at line accuracy. But difficult with speed control particularly with tight close pins. I found it works best with longer shots on to uphill greens With shots more than about 2 yard from the hole it lands off the green unless I use a longer strokes which are often too much for fast greens. It has the Odysey quality and I would carry one for a few situations if I was allowed 15 clubs. Recommended for beginners and high handicapper who struggle with off green iron chips and may be good on slow greens. I have a very old inflexible friend who always uses a putter and cannot chip with irons. This would make play more fun for him because he does not play for scores.

At 74 years old and I struggle to make a decent chip shot around the green. I purchased the Odyssey Chipper and I must say it is a game changer for me! It’s weighted perfectly and the over size grip is the icing on the cake!

This is a great tool! Works perfectly. Only wish they made it with a little more loft.

My biggest complaint with this club is not the performance of club, but rather that Odyssey does not provide a head cover. This club has an insert just like the putters we have come to enjoy which can easily be damaged if not protected. It is not an iron. Do you keep you putter cover on your club when not in use ? Of course we do. Why would Odyssey expect any different with the $200.00 club that has the same hitting surface as the head of our putter ? Disappointing for sure !!

Chipper is exactly as described. Very sturdy, quality club!

[Review Update] Pros of this chipper: 1. The grip feels excellent. 2. The design gives a visually comfortable impression. 3. It helps prevent those really frustrating mis-hit chip shots. It helps prevent really awkward chip shots. Cons: With its 37° loft, it should produce about the same distance as a 9-iron, but sometimes the shots come up short and other times they go too long. I think it takes quite a lot of practice to achieve consistent distance. The 32° chipper I used before was more convenient for bump-and-run shots because it gave me roughly 8-iron distance. Conclusion: Golfers with a handicap in the bogey range or lower, who already chip well, probably won’t find this club necessary. If you're good at chip shots but not so confident with bump-and-run shots, it may be better to use a chipper with a lower loft than this one.

Great product especially if you are struggling with the short game. Good build quality and finish. Easy to use and improves your chipping tremendously.
