Pack Gear Compression Strap, Adjustable Travel Organizer Accessory for Bags

My husband and I went on an 8 month round the world trip in 2022, and these straps plus the pack gear hanging system they go with saved our butts. We only took a 45 L pack each, and these compression straps were absolutely a game changer in how much clothing we were still able to bring. We used them constantly for 8 months, moving every 1-4 days to a new place and thus repacking and reusing the system, and while one of my straps developed a small tear in the nylon at the top (of the fabric, not the strap itself), they overall were incredibly durable. We each used two sets of the compression straps for one set of the hanging pack cube/organizer system to try and get it as small and cuboid as possible, and that worked super well. Would absolutely recommend these for anyone who is going on an extended backpacking trip, especially if you have very limited space like we did. Just for reference: we each had approximately 4-6 shirts, 2 pullovers, 2 pairs of pants, 2 sets of leggings, 2 pairs of shorts, 5 pairs of underwear, 4-5 pairs of socks, 4 sports bras, a bathing suit, gloves, a wool hat, and at various times things like a rash guard or extra shorts (depending on the country we were in). This system allowed us to pack all of that in a 45 L pack along with at least 1 pair of hiking boots, 1 pair tennis shoes or tevas, toiletries, and electronics. Packing cubes alone never would've accomplished the same thing. Of note, if you're going on a long RTW trip bring a bigger bag than we did.

Works well. Measurably added space in my luggage. Be careful to order the correct size Pack Gear bag -- small. First time use was for an Arctic cruise and this helped with compressing bulky items, The bag itself was useful after unpacking, as it hung in the small closet. Seems to be very durable and worth it for travelers needing to optimize space.

Used this compression strap for the first time this spring on a several-week trip to Lisbon, Portugal and Morocco. My clothes wrinkled, but it was much easier to pack and unpack the Pack Gear Hanging Carry-On Organizer than to put all of my clothes in separate packing cubes. It took me and my engineer husband a bit to figure out how to put this compression strap on, but it was easy once we did it the first time at home. Be sure to watch the video on how to: 1.) Put the top over the top of the Carry-on Organizer than 2.) dangle the straps two sides and 3.) straps front back. You may have to re-adjust the top again once you tighten all of the straps. I will happily use this compression strap again in my travel adventure future.

I bought this along with the pack gear and it works great. We used it for a quick 4 day trip to San Jose to visit relatives. We were able to fit my husband's, my daughters, and my own clothes in a carry on bag using this system. Saved us time getting on and off the plane and we had no issues carrying it all back in the same bag. I appreciated that all I had to do to unpack was to hang up the system in the closet. It made the trip really easy! Great product.

I purchased the medium sized Pack Gear pack, which fits perfectly in my carry-on bag, along with this compression strap. To my surprise, I discovered that Pack Gear makes the packs in three sizes, but only makes a matching compression strap for their smallest size. I bought the straps anyway to try them. It kind of works, but the straps compress the pack unevenly due to their smaller size. Although the packs and compression straps are great products in and of themselves, it is disappointing that the straps are not available specifically for the larger sized packs. Pack Gear should step up their game and make matching compression straps for all their pack sizes!

As the title says, one of the sides that has two straps sewn together ripped when I attempted it for my third vacation. They worked great for the first two experiences, but now it’s unusable until I get the sewing machine out (if my needles will even go through that think of fabric). Really disappointed with this product.

I got the Compression strap and really liked it. I found it easy to use and compressed pack up to 1/2 original size. Great when compressed for stuffing into larger back pack or carry-on suit case...especially return trip home when I had more stuff than I originally started with! Like the compression strap, it is very light weight but strong. Have used it 4 or 5 times and it continues to hold up well!

Works super well with the hanging packing cube! Completely changed how I pack and is so easy to use!
