Really happy with the investment in this Dometic CFX3 45L
This fridge is awesome. Super quiet, can not hear it running. Very efficient. The fridge has been running in my jeep with only a single Oddesey battery. No problem maintaining temp and cranking in the morning. I have ordered the external cover and I'm sure it will consume even less energy once installed. It s 90 degrees outside temp so I'm sure the internal temperature of my jeep is much higher. Really like the Bluetooth and wifi capabilities as I can monitor voltage level and temp from inside my house. Hard to beat a Dometic.

Absolutely does what they say it does
We used this cooler on a 4000 mile trip over 2 weeks and it worked great. I put it in the back of the van where we could easily access it through the back doors and it kept Our Favorite Drinks cold the entire time. We left it in the van plugged in the entire trip, even overnight, and it never drained the battery. It was set to medium batter saver so the cooler shuts itself of when battery voltage goes below a certain threshold. The drinks were around 54 F in the morning but once the van was fired up it cooled right back down to 34 F in an hour or so. It was so nice having what we wanted to drink, not what some gas station, truck stop or rest area was selling, available to us. And the drinks were much colder than you can get from a convenience store cooler or rest area soda machine. The ice maker works great too, it makes enough ice for 2 - 14 oz glasses, we didn't use it on the trip but I tired it at home on 120 vac before the trip to test it out, it made ice in about 2-1/2 hours. It's pricey but I got it on sale at $800 and used a $200 gift card to get it down to $663. Not having to deal with ice, drying off wet drinks and dumping the water every day is, IMHO, well worth the cost. In hindsight we probably could have gotten by with a smaller one but hey, we put homemade dip, candy, drinks and all kinds of other stuff in there :-)>

Another one of the best things I've purchased
I looked at many different 12v fridge/freezers and it seems every reviewer online holds these coolers as the gold standard. It wasn't cheap but I work away from home and the ability to bring frozen and prepared meals with me has saved time and a lot of money. It works perfectly and it's nearly silent other than the odd time the compressor runs (which most people won't hear unless they sit right beside it). The wifi seems finicky but the bluetooth works great with the app. It is worth the extra initial cost.I also bought the cover for it, fits well and it seems to aid in keeping it cool.

Real World Recovery Gear Up
475 days have passed since the USFS burned me out of house and homestead by carelessly igniting the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire. My off-grid house and everything in it was totally destroyed. FEMA is dragging its flat, bureaucratic feet compensating me for losses to the fire which means I must gear up to begin rebuilding from scratch myself while they do whatever it is they must do to finally get around to it all.The homesite is located at the end of a remote, unimproved jeep trail situated in mountainous terrain at 8000 ft elevation. I set up temporary off-grid living accommodation (in an overland pickup camper) there before commencing work to rebuild. It might be as little as another year—or who’s know how many more years beyond that highly optimistic estimate—before reconstruction can be completed as FEMA carries on with its clouded, convoluted, inefficient rigamarole of mandatory, inflexible processes. My accommodations in the meantime must be substantial enough for long-term stays, totally off-grid powered, easy to use, and reliable.A key element of this off-grid living kit is a large, portable refrigerator/freezer for keeping a considerable quantity of food (at least 150 meals worth) to avoid having to repeatedly trip to and from town to restock the larder. This spacious, dual-zone portable refrigerator/freezer energized by an 1800W/1152Wh power station which is being recharged daily using a 350W foldable PV array is exactly what I need to keep enough food on site as reconstruction progresses. Using them together now for three days with the CFX3 95DZ stuffed to the brim (see photo), has required no additional power source whatsoever (even beneath moderately cloudy skies), and it is so sweet being able to monitor both the CFX3 and the power station/PV array status via Bluetooth. They both fit nicely into the overland rig bed with out having to sacrifice convenient accessibility, providing as perfect a solution as I had imagined. ☮️ & 💜 & 🔆

Quality and Adaptability
The Dometic CFX3 100 is an exceptional cooler and freezer that blends durability with superior functionality. Its generous 100-liter capacity is ideal for long journeys, while the VMSO3 variable motor speed optimization technology ensures effective cooling and freezing, even in harsh environments. I have adjusted the temperature from about -5F for freezing to the suggested 39F for standard food cooling. A standout feature is the Bluetooth app control which enables remote temperature monitoring and adjustment to about a distance of 30ft. That can come in handy while driving in the backcountry with the cooler in the back of a vehicle. The unit's sturdy construction makes it well-suited for outdoor activities. However, the cover, which must be purchased separately, is challenging to install on this cooler/freezer. The CFX3-100 is expensive, but its quality and warranty set it apart. The CFX3-100 remains a dependable and adaptable mobile refrigerator for any travel arrangement or emergency scenario. It works well on 120-volt home current or 12-24 volts with the cigarette lighter vehicle socket. It also functions well on various retail available lithium battery power stations.
