Being the next and final chapter of TOP GUN, the well-awaited MAVERICK, I'm sure, doesn't need any beefing up. Action, charm and the hallmark Maverick humor has made this film one Tom Cruises best pieces of work since Mission Impossible, which also an absolutely amazing conclusion to the M:I Franchise. Here, we see MAVERICK returning to TOP GUN to train the Best of the Best and the 1% of Advance Trained Pilots for a deadly mission, if not a great save for the world in destroying a Uranium Enrichment Plant in Russia. Of course, there are 5th Generation Enemy Fighter jets and pilots to contend with, while we also see the favored Lockheed & Martin DARKSTAR, the Hypersonic Jet Fighter of the future. To be honest, this is a must for anyone who is a great fan of Tom Cruise, Top Gun, or just the lover of watching those breathtaking and awesome aerial sequences that make your stomach rise and fall. Amazing. The £14.52 tag price was easy on the finances, to say that home entertainment wise, you have a perfect low value item that you can get for yourself or as a gift. Recommended. Highway to the amazing picture and sound quality zone.
This films gets top marks from me. Tom Cruise has once again proven himself to be one of, if not the greatest entertainer of our time. The film is a perfect balance of nostalgia, special effects, amazing real life aerial stunts and a good narrative that furthers Maverick's story. Films 5/5. Picture quality playing the 4k disc on a Panasonic UB820 into a 65 inch LG CX is frankly amazing. Picture is crystal clear and the dolby vision really makes the image pop. Blacks are deep but clear. Sun glare is bright and adds to the dogfights terrifically. Picture quality 5/5. Sound quality is once again amazing. Dolby Atmos sound through an Atmos LG soundbar is cinematic to say the least. Planes, missiles and cannon fire zip all over the room. The soundtrack booms but voices are never list in the mix. Sound 5/5. Oh and the steelbook looks really nice too 😄. Overall 5/5. One of the best action movies ever made and a 4k presentation to really show off your system.
