Awesome, climbed a tree no problem, hangs up aanywhere, havent done any heavy testing, lightweight enough to clip on belt loop and use this one as a kepchain if you really want, or throw in back pocket, 3.0 supposed to have pin storage but can always drill a hole out on the side for thee locking pin, great tool and useful to have, takes up no space and not heavy,

I have several grappling hooks. This one is by far the best quality one that I own. This product is much sturdier than others that I own.

I use it a lot for pulling widow maker branches out of trees. Haven’t used the gravity hook for anything yet. Little bit of a learning curve needed for this one, and some caution, but it works nice and sometimes saves getting a bigger tool or a climb. I’m by no means saying to use it for this purpose, without a hard hat, or that it’s even meant to do what I put it through, just that it works for me for how I apply it. Definitely not any sort of life support thing, and not a replacement, in my opinion, off DMM’s captain. Useful. But be careful.

Great toy to have, I just bought it because I thought it was cool. I keep it in my backpack just in case I ever do need it. One thing I didn't like was when it was in my pack, it was in two peices, simple fix, I just drilled a new hole to keep them together when not in use. The picture shows where I drilled the new hole in yellow. Red was the original hole just to keep the pin. Now it stays together and lays flat in my pack.

I specifically purchased this because according to the seller this is the original, made in America. As a machinist/fabricator I really appreciate its design, material, fit, finish and provided clevis eye. In my opinion it’s way underpriced for what you get. Stainless isn’t cheap or easy to work with.

It’s a little smaller then I expected it fits in the palm of my hand but still takes up my entire hand!.....very well made and still very cool and it picked up everything I tried that it could pending the size of the object..haven’t tried the hook part for climbing or anything else yet my only question is how much weight can it hold before that back pin snaps?...or what is the best rope to use with this? The back u bolt is kinda small! My main goal is to feel like Luke Skywalker in Star Wars when the bridge is out and I can use this to swing across!
