RDEXP Black Flexible Spare Strap Handle Grip Replacement for Suitcase Luggage Case 22.5cm (B19)

A great replacement handlebar for my luggage. Comes with 2 sets of screws with washers, a rubber/silicon padded grip/handle, two metal base for the handle, a plastic mounting plate, and a flathead/philips screwdriver. It has everything you need to repair that handle. A big surprise is the handle appears to be common and that many luggages use the same exact design with the same dimensions. (See photo.) As as the handle length and the hole distances are identical, the replacement handle installs easily and quickly in under ten minutes. Now I appreciate and understand why most luggages have a linen lining inside with zippers. That allows for easy access to the parts that require repair. A big improvement over the original luggage is that this handle has a metal base (instead of the plastic in the original) with the additional washer for the screws. Combined, these should allow the luggage to withstand a lot more abuse over time. (The original base is plastic, which suggests the base may break more easily.) For the money, you get better and more thoughtful components to help you travel that extra mile. Get it.

Easy to install, good design as it handles the weight of the luggage piece without pulling apart. I installed two of these handles on two of our luggage pieces that were damaged by baggage handlers at airports. I looked for and through many handle kits and settled on this item, because I liked the design and functionality, and was not disappointed in the purchases. We have had a number of trips after installing these handles without an problems, so I highly recommend this item.

Perfect replacement for the handles on my navy blue Ricardo Beverly Hills (RBH) suitcase set, purchased from Costco in 2014. They are exactly the same size and fit. (You can find the style of your RBH suitcase on a t-shirt-style tag which is sewn into the suitcase liner.) The only difference is the original RBH style was a brushed nickel look, and these are chrome. It's not a huge visual difference. The only problem I expect is because the design and durability are the same, I fully expect these handles to fail in 2-3 years. The metal they use for the retaining pieces is this cheap, brittle and thin cast pot metal that is not resilient to the kinds of impact that a suitcase experiences as part of air travel. Replacement was super easy: unscrew old ones from inside the suitcase using Phillips head screwdriver (old screws were covered with foam tape, which was easily and carefully unpeeled), install the new metal retainers. I was even able to use the same screws & brackets & handles, which aren't particularly worn. My guess is that the metal brackets will fail again before any part of the handles. For around $8/handle, and 5 minutes to replace each handle, this totally beats going to a luggage store to get them replaced.

The spare suitcase strap came as a standard size and fit the screw holes in the case. The only problem encountered was that the screws supplied were a few mm too long. I had to go and buy some spacing washers from a hardware store. In the end it worked OK, and it cost a lot less than buying another “made in China” suitcase!

Easy replacement Just like new!

So my Samsonite set of 3 suitcases have the worst possible handles (sorry Samsonite) that all broke in the same spot and it had became a joke at the airport - which handle was going to break this time? After four out of the six handles broke I ordered a couple of these online to test them out on our latest trip overseas. These things were going to see some abuse. Besides the normal airport baggage shot-put event, we were going to drag them all over a small country onto buses, trains, cars, and up rocky hills. These things were fantastic! Not only did they stand up to the abuse without issue, they have a soft rubbery grip on the underside so they were very comfortable to use. The handles were a little hard to get on because it turns out each set of holes on my suitcases were slightly different spacings (+/- 1/4"), so I did use a power drill to widen some of the holes in order to get some of the handles on. I'll also say that I read some of the other reviews and you do need to make your own judgement call on which set of screws - the new ones vs your old ones, work best for your suitcase. I ended up using the old ones because they were slightly longer. My suitcase also had a plastic reinforcing plate that was roughly a 1/4" on the backside of the handle that I reused. If I hadn't the new screws would have been fine. I think now between the two the suitcase will probably fail before the handle. Great buy - I'm getting more of these for the rest of the handles.

Short and sweet, I used this on a Kirkland spinner that was great except for a separating handle. I decided to go all in and use the new hardware, but one of the screws wouldn't tighten fully and when I tried to unscrew it the screw snapped. So I threw out the new mounting hardware, and used the original metal hardware with the suitcase, drilled new holes and it's fine. You don't get a screwdriver pictured (no great loss), and the plastic piece I finally decided is used inside, not on the outside. It's a bit expensive given that the hardware is so cheesy, but if you're patient and measure properly, you can use the original hardware and make a repair that looks pretty close to original.

Very happy with this handle. The brackets holding the handle to the suitcase are metal and seem plenty strong. Much stronger than the original plastic brackets which broke on 1st trip. This handle is padded on the bottom. I to measured the holes for the bracket and found this handle. I was able to use the original holes. The handle part is about 1/4 inch longer than the original handle so it does not go completely down, but this is no problem at all. Most important is the pair of holes, the spacing (between the holes 32mm) needs to be the same so you don't have to make new holes to mount to your suit case. I used bigger washers than what came with this handle. The washers I used are 7/8" wide with 3/16 " holes (bought at Lowes). wider washers spread out the load a little better and covers the cuts I made to the suitcase liner , had get the old screws out so cut the liner about a 3/8" slits. The suitcase is a 28" case and it weighed 52 lbs when the cheap original handle broke . I like the suitcase a lot , IT Corona 28" Luggage, but the handles are not up to the job. I will be replacing the 2nd handle on the suit case with this handle so I don't have a broken handle during next trip.

Would have given 5 stars if came with 15mm screws as is advertised. 10mm screw not enough to grab properly. Be aware will also need to buy 15mm screws if repairing a suitcase.

I like this generic luggage handler. It's better than the original I had for the Costco Air Canada luggage set. Since the suitcase is made of fiber glass I had to make new holes, (you can do this easily by heating any nail . make sure you don't burn what's inside the suitcase. The product looks good. I'll write a second review after my trip.
