Great watch depending on your needs. Don't buy for sleep tracking, IMO.
I've owned this watch for almost a year now. Do I regret it? Absolutely not! This watch has literally changed my life. I'll just start out with the bad. IMO, don't buy this watch for sleep tracking. I think its sleep sensing capability is complete BS. My watch will regularly state that I'm sleeping when I am wide eyed awake at 3 a.m. in the morning. It's so unreliable, that it makes me doubt the entire smart watch industry for sleep tracking. It's a good thing I didn't buy this watch for sleep tracking because I would have been terribly unhappy. So why did I give the watch 5 stars? It's because everything else about the watch has been terrific. And considering it's affordable price, continued free application and watch updates/improvements throughout the year, downloadable apps, GPS tracking, heart rate recording, incredible battery life, etc., I consider it to be the best smartwatch on the market in this price range. The heart rate recording could be more reliable. I have been on the treadmill at times when I know for sure the heart rate sensor on the watch is not recording correctly. It's usually related to dirty (or sweaty) sensor on the back of the watch. But it can also be that I didn't have the watch tight enough or that it was in a strange position on my wrist. Cleaning underneath the watch, moving the watch location on my wrist, or tightening up the band all seem to help get the sensor back on track. It's an annoyance. But I imagine this is going to be the case with most every smartwatch brand and is unrelated to the actual watch itself. The GPS tracking is top notch! Love it. I also love the visualization on my hiking history on the included app. It will color code the trail based on the speed I was traveling when I hiked. It will also record and show my heart rate on a chart all throughout the hiking. The feature that's changed my life is the PAI capability. PAI (Physiological Activity Indicator) is an intuitive algorithm that evaluates multi-dimensional personal physiological data measured by the watch. It converts this data into a easy to understand PAI value or score. The score is based on the HUNT Fitness Study. According to the study, keeping your PAI above 100 will help reduce the death risk of cardiovascular disease, and increase your life expectancy. I have changed my workout to maximize my PAI score. And in doing so have lost 35 lbs of fat in the last year. I've learned a lot about my health, what was causing my lack of results before, and am thankful to the makers of this watch for opening my eyes to it all. Plus, I feel a whole lot better. In summary, for the health conscious, this is a great watch to consider. It's very tough (for outdoor sports and adventures) and long lasting (battery). If you are looking for a watch to help you track your sleep, ehh, better look elsewhere--not sure if sleep tracking is accurate for any watch.

Great value quality & overall functionality for a heavy duty fitness smart watch.
I chose this watch (TRex2) after looking through all the different options with Garmin and apple watch then finding the Amazfit product line and comparing the models. Not only does it make my lil T Rex mama heart happy that its a TRex product but it also boasts overall military grade durability, extreme cold/hot resistance, water resistance up to 100m and 10ATM (big issue for me as a active swimmer and being out in the elements daily with my life/job) & dirt resistance. The display is vibrant & it has the touch screen as well as button access which was important to me as I had a versa fitbit3 that would sometimes not respond to touch if I was sweaty or it was wet from swimming etc. on top of all of that it also has military specs and durability - important to me (will update on this in future) the watch band it came with Stock is actually surprisingly flexible but strong and itsnt too bulky at all - it nests comfortably against my wrist and has two band holders built in to hold the excess strap. I have great expectations for this band lasting as its not too rigid but feels strong. The screen itself is smooth and slightly dropped down to protect it from getting banged up on. ( I did however purchase a silicone face cover and glass screen protector’s to allow for extra protection - I am very active daily and didnt want to have to worry Id smash the face on something ) the fitness functions are intuitive and recognize your movement fluidly. As for the sleep analysis it seems to be accurate and tracks shorter periods of time with a easy to grasp breakdown of sleep quality. It’s important to me that the TRex2 also tracks stress and heartbeat/BloodO2 & breathing patterns. The Zepp app is relatively easy to navigate and with a little exploring - I was able to go through most of the functions within minutes of set up - which was extremely easy to pair with my iPhone. The watch came with a 54% charge and the instructions reco that you fully charge it before use. It was at 100% within a half hour. I also like there is a security function that allows you to set a 6 digit passcode for when you remove your watch - this activates immediately upon removal from your wrist - but I really appreciate this function as there have been times I have taken off my fitbit and it was lost/stolen and I worried about my data safety. I have already slept with the watch and enjoyed the sleep report. The auto dimming functions and overall screen brightness is impressive- I can also appreciate the lift to wake as it’s intuitive to your movement and doesn’t turn on/off everytime you move your arm. There are countless faces available - free selections are very nice as well as offering some paid faces - I spent over an hour looking through them all. There is even a “flashlight mode” - the screen goes ery bright cool white and would be good to spot something dropped or to move through close quarters in the dark. The app store is pretty decent for my needs- I didn’t see a true wallet app - but thats ok I can use my phone. As for GPS I haven’t tried it out in filed but it seems accurate. Unboxing was satisfying and well packaged with a upscale feel. I am overall very pleased with the value, appearance and functionality of this TRex2. I will update as time passes, and or issues occur. :)

A great watch for an average user
I’ve been using this watch for about 4 months and so far I really love this watch! Its not perfect and I’ll point out the flaws but it definitely has a lot of pros that has made me love the watch. Lets start with the cons: - sometimes it looses connection to my iPhone 13 and ill have to either restart the watch or restart my phone to reestablish the connection - The watch face store isn’t the best, I can’t find what I favorite and one of the purchases I made can’t upload the face to my watch - Very important: some watch faces consume too much battery due to animation they play or all of the information they display. This isn’t disclosed when you purchase The watch face which i wish it was because the battery life is important To me. - Cant answer emails, can only read. - Does not make any noise, only vibrates - Can’t answer calls, you only get the option to decline the calls The pros: - battery life!!! Pay attention to the watch face you choose because some of them say that they are battery intensive. Longest I’ve had the battery last on a normal watch face is 24 days! Vs 17 days on a battery intensive watch face. - Its very sturdy and solid. Ive banged it against hard places a few times and have not damaged the watch at all. - Waterproof. I’ve showered with it, and gone swimming both in a pool and in the ocean and it works perfectly. - The functionality. I work in the IT world and the functionalities work fine for me. I use the vibration to wake me up, (very strong), I use the notifications to read emails and receive calls, I use it to check the weather, I use the steps, and i check my heart rate. For the average user, it gets the job done perfectly. Over all as an average user, I’m extremely happy with my purchase. I never used an apple watch so i cant really compare it. I’ve had some hybrid watches and i would say this watch is far superior in comparison to those.

3-month UPDATE: Extended Review
SECOND UPDATE: Increased stars from 2 to 4. Heart rate works acceptably well IF the watch is very snug against your wrist. I was wearing it a little loose (not floppy but not snuggly either) when I was getting low HR readings. However, by tightening the strap to a snug fit it now appears to be measuring consistent with my other two pulse oximeters. I'm happy with the watch again. UPDATED REVIEW: PASS: • Battery Life – I get six days on a charge. I know this is a long way from their claimed battery life but a) I have everything running (always-on display, heart rate) and b) even at 6 days this is WAY better than most of the competition. • GPS – I walk several different 4 and 5 mile road courses. The GPS tracking is accurate enough for my purposes. This only issue could be that the watch only shows a line for your track/location. You need the Zepp app on your phone for a map overlay. I’ve never used it (the GPS) in an area out of cell phone coverage but would not want to risk getting lost in the deep woods depending on it. • Step Counter – I haven’t actually counted my steps for verification but over my four and five mile walks the counts are reasonably consistent and what I expect. • Watch Faces – Several hundred watch faces from simple to bizarre. Many are free and the prices range from $0.99 to $2.99 so no big deal. FAILS: • Heart Rate Monitor – Like I said I walk and need to keep track of my heart rate and my O2. In addition to the watch I also wear a recording pulse oximeter (supposedly FDA certified for clinical use) and take a $35 finger clip-on oximeter. Whereas the other two pulse oximeters are in reasonable agreement, many times (very often) the watch heart rate monitor is 20 to 40 BPM low over the course of my entire walk. This is more than just a momentary reading that is off due to timing. • Blood Oxygen Sensor – Compared to my two other pulse oximeters which indicate pretty much the same readings, the watch sensor is usually three to four percentage points higher. Also, you MUST remain perfectly still when taking an O2 reading. Not at all useful when exercising. • Barometer – I have had three of these watches (two were exchanged) and all three gave a pressure of 45 hPa lower than the actual. Where I live (Phoenix, AZ) the normal pressure is around 1010 hPa. However, the watch shows 45 hPa lower, or a normal of 965 hPa. You should note that a pressure of 960 hPa is indicative of being in the eye of a category 4 or 5 hurricane! Research has not shown me there is a way to calibrate the watch. • Altimeter – The altimeter is based on the barometric pressure. The altimeter can be calibrated to the correct elevation. However, because it works off pressure and the pressure does fluctuate over the day, my house apparently jumps 30 to 40 feet during the day. • PAI – a) The algorithm for PAI is mostly based on your heart rate. If the watch is not correctly reading your heart rate (see above comment) then your PAI will be way off. 2) According to many web resources your weekly PAI is the sum of your most recent seven daily PAI scores. However, the weekly PAI score indicated by the watch is always significantly higher than the sum of the immediately preceding seven day’s PAI. The are several other Amazon reviews that point this out with pictures. • Weather – There is no choice in the weather service utilized. The service ZEPP uses has limited reporting sites so it is likely your town will not be covered and you will need to reference the nearest city available. Also, there appears to be a significant delay in reporting changes in weather. This is probably more a function of the weather service than the watch but it still provides you with old data. • Calendar – The main issue with the calendar is that “all-day” events entered into my calendar via my phone are always indicated on the watch a day early. A programming glitch for sure that needs to be addressed. • Compass – I don’t use the compass but every time I have “played” with it I have to first go through an aggravating calibration routine. Not something I would trust in the woods. Who Knows: • Sleep monitor – Sleep monitors on any watch are extremely subjective and questionable. • Calories burned – Again, subjective based on an algorithm. CONCLUSION: An expensive piece of hardware to tell you the time (which it gets from your phone) and to count your steps. Not worth it in my opinion. ORIGINAL REVIEWL Great battery life (7 days) even with features (heart rate, O2, always-on feature) activated. However, barometer is WAY off and that and the related altimeter are a waste of time. GPS tracking is fine for tracking my 4-mile residential area walks. Love the PAI workout feature but although the daily PAI makes sense, the math for rolling 7-day total is off. There are new watch faces available daily. I'll keep it.

Great Watch
This watch is awesome. Battery Life --> Medium Use I get two weeks easy. (I have adjustable Brightness turned on works very well) When battery is at 50% the watch charges in about 45 minutes. AI feature --> Detects if turned on when my heart rates gets up over warmup in the 105-110 and suggests an exercise session recording. Love how you can do quick replies on messenger and If you can't take your call it allows you to send a message as to why you can't. Messages are customizable in the app. Note: You can not answer calls or SMS text messages on this watch, but who cares I do not care for those features. Customize Exercise templates to track and work up to your goals. Love that the most. Loads of information PAI EPOC Sleep monitoring Heart rate monitoring while exercising at different Levels Accurate Step count Close to accurate heart rate tracking....I am talking off by 1/2 a beat or less which is great compared to some of the other watches. App is the Zepp app --> Very good app stable and very smooth to use There are many features you can add to the watch via app. Watch faces are basic (Freeones) Many different watch faces all from 99 cents to 1.99 Worth it on some of the faces as they can display very clear information and make use of the surface of the watch very optimally. 100% Recommend.

It's early... but WOW. [NEW UPDATE, 8 days later]
For some perspective, I have been wearing Apple Watches since the day they came out. I also recently decided to try a $700 Garmin smart watch. I can't even say "for the price" (because I don't want people to think that this product is cheaply made, because it is NOT)... my first impressions of the #AmazFit T-Rex 2 are outstanding! I have had it about 18 hours so I will know a lot more in the coming days, but I am so impressed with some of the things they got right that I had to jump on and write a review immediately. So... the strap is incredibly comfortable and has MANY slots with small increments so you can find just the right fit for you. I had struggled with this with so many Apple Watch bands over the years. Also, the watch it incredibly light weight but has enough "bulk" to make it feel like a man's watch and it feels durable. Time will tell on the durability. The screen is incredibly responsive and bright enough to see in bright sunlight. I've only had a limited about of time to check into the different watch faces and have found a few that I personally like. I am hoping you can create your own as I am pretty picky about the info I would like on the watch face. Some of the things AmazFit got right that even a $700 Garmin appeared to be missing: - FIND MY PHONE; the ability to ping your phone when you have misplaced it. Can't tell you how many times I have used this on my Apple Watch. - a quick and easy access to timers; could not figure out how to do this on the Garmin. On the T-Rex 2 it is a simple swipe down and touch the timer icon - SOFTWARE UPDATE (v9.48.1.1) arrived this morning and has some great enhancements. Control center icons are larger, apps menu icons appear larger and cleaner, weather widget has HUGE improvement, and much more. So for my first day with the product, and paying over 70% LESS, the AmazFit T-Rex 2 is an EXCEPTIONAL buy. I'll try to come back after a week or so and product a more detailed review one I have used it more. [NEW UPDATE, 8 days later] So it's been a whole week and I will start with... I WISH I HAD DITCHED MY APPLE WATCH SOONER! I have had the T-Rex 2 on for almost 9 full days and my battery is still at 52%. #AMAZEBALLS!!! I have also begun to learn more about the workout tracking. I added a couple more photos of just part of the workout reports. I selected a Strength Training workout and did both bench press and bicep curls. The T-Rex automatically recognized which exercise I did. I touch one button to stop a set, then in counts the recovery time and then I touch the arrow on the screen to start the next set. When done, I can add the weight or I can modify this later in the app. I don't think Apple is here yet (if they are I never knew that). I am still very much AMAZED with my AmazFit T-Rex 2. Bravo AmazFit.

Amazing Watch!!!!
First of all, I love the ranger green color, it is definitely a favorite color of mine. This watch has performed so so well. I enjoy being able to track my steps and sleep. I am surprised how accurate it was with my sleep time and when I had to get up during the night for when my son or puppy woke up. This watch is surprisingly durable. I have smacked it on the corners of countertops, door frames, etc. and there is no scratch on it!!! I am thoroughly impressed with it. I did take it into the shower which had no issues, but the problem is moisture gets stuck in the crevices of the band so it's hard to thoroughly dry. I would just take it off before you get in. Now the battery life, it is amazing!!!! I love having a watch that I don't need to worry about the battery life. I typically get 20 days (5% a day) so when the low battery notification comes on at 10% I have 2 days to charge it. The watch also charges up to full in like 2 hours. This watch is perfect for me. It looks awesome. Works great absolutely no issues. Battery life is phenomenal. Great features on the watch. I would highly highly recommend purchasing this watch if you are looking for something like this.

I wanted to love it... But I don't.
I bought two watches from these guys. This one, and the GTR4 . I really wanted to love the T-Rex because of its more aggressive design. It suits me much better particularly because I'm going to be using it strictly for sporting activities . I was disappointed when it came because I was surprised how light it felt. Perhaps it's ridiculous consumer mannerisms built in over the years, but a light watch to me always feels cheap. I was further disappointed when I noticed that the surrounding bezel is plastic and not metal. I know that this isn't an expensive watch in this space, but I feel like a metal bezel should be a requirement at this price point. If I can order garbage watches off of aliexpress that have metal bezels for $9, they can certainly do it here. And I realized that that is one of the product differentiators between this watch and the ultra, but that just bothers me even more due to the significant price difference. The watch performed well, but I question the accuracy of the heart rate monitor. When I tested what the heart rate monitor was saying versus using my fingers on my pulse, there was always a slight discrepancy. now whether the error was me or the watch, that's up for debate I suppose . The personalization options for the watch are also very disappointing. I'm annoyed that almost every watch face is a paid option. There are very few free options, and even more annoying when you're looking through the watch faces on the app, there's no way of filtering out the free ones versus the paid ones. It's also disappointing that you cannot customize the colors of the watch face that you choose. This should be a mandatory feature for any digital watch face. I can do it with almost all my Android watch faces on my 3-year-old diesel watch so why can't I do it here? It's just one extra thing preventing me from building affection towards this product . The watch strap was super cheap feeling. It has a plastic buckle. I ordered aftermarket watch straps for $2 that come with metal buckles so I don't know why there isn't one here. Again perhaps a product differentiator between this model and the ultra, but it's frustrating . Otherwise the watch is fine but does have some quirks. I enabled music control, but the watch buzzes every time the song changes. There's supposedly an option to turn that off but I'll be damned if I can find it . There is also a constant notification on the top of my phone about the watches battery life and a reminder to charge it. I don't need this, and I can't turn that off either. And if I turn off notifications all together the watch freaks out and tells me that I have to enable them for some functions to work properly. This is pretty amateur level UI stuff so I don't know why these things exist . At the end of the day I've decided to return the T-Rex because it's just not polished enough at this price point. I got the GTR for $140, and at that price point I'll deal with the few weird elements . It's disappointing because I thought this company would do a really good job of bringing a quality product to market at a solid price point. But there's just too many weird little things that prevent me from loving it. I wish that wasn't so because dealing with the company so far has been great.

All you need, without the cost, and more!! Love it
Honestly, what do you want from a Sporty Smart watch? This looks very decent, gives me the right data about my workouts, sleep patterns, heart rate, stress levels & even has a built in GPS. Full Touchscreen interface, nice vibration notifications, Loads of watch faces to customize, and most importantly for me, a amazingly LONG LONG standby time (seriously, I've used it for a week and it still tells me I got 50% or more battery life) love it... An amazing interface via the ZEPP app and finally, the Price... C'mon for all you're getting, and you think it's expensive, you obviously didn't do your research on the competition at all...Its a solid buy and for all you're getting worth every penny (even if you've already saved by getting this watch)! Just go for it!

Rugged Stylish and good Performance
I bought this watch last year around Oct and wasn't too sure as to how it would perform. But after using it for 8 months I can confidently say that for the money you pay , this watch performs pretty well and it would definitely be on par with the more reputable watch brands out there and perform as well penny for penny if not better. I use for my road and trail running once or twice in a week. The GPS is spot on, thought I should mention it does take a wee bit of time to search for the GPS, sometimes it's faster. But that's a small issue. Once it's on , it's good to go. Whether you are hiking or running, the watch will give you pretty accurate metrics. Honestly I have not fact checked for every sec or heartbeat but whatever I read at the end of the activity or workout, I feel it's pretty accurate. Like they say, you cannot substitute it for a medical device. For a lay person like me I feel this watch is fantastic. It's got all the features which one would find in today's best smart watches. I took to Bharat this year in Mar / April and May and worked like a charm. Finding the GPS was no issues. Used it for running and walking, no issues. Also used it for my river rafting trip at rishikesh for 17kms down the Ganges, dived into the river while rafting, no issues. I don't even remember, like cleaning the watch afterwards. I took it for the Tungnath trek upto 12000 ft, no issues. Next year I'm planning everest base camp trek and I'm sure this watch will pass with flying colors. What I also like, since I do high altitude trekking, is blood oxygen that it shows. Again, I know it's not supposed to be used as a medical device, but atleast you get an idea, so yeah overall very happy with the purchase and the watch. Did I forget to mention that I wear it to work everyday ? The battery life is also pretty amazing. Depends on what features you use but if you keep it simple and basic then the battery really lasts long.
