This Old School Mop Revolutionized My Cleaning!!!
As a child I remember my mother using a mop with multicolored yarn that she would take outside to shake off so I decided to look for one. At first, I was a bit put off by the price but I have to tell you it’s so so worth it! It has a great quality full mop head. Don’t be discouraged when it’s first out of the box, the yarns loosen with use. The mop comes with a sturdy wooden mop handle. As soon as I used it I was amazed at how effortlessly it picked up dust and debris. Just mop it into a pile for easy vacuuming. The mop head also angles all the way down making dusting under furniture a breeze. With hardwood floors and two cats this mop makes it so easy to clean and keep clean! Throw on top that it’s made in the USA. Definitely worth it!

Adios Swiffer!
I wanted a dry mop like the one my mom has been using for decades and I found this. I love this mop. Works so much better than the Swiffer dry cloths. Using it in a 4 cat house with hardwood floors throughout. Picks up cat hair like a dream. Love the swivel head and it fits easily under all the furniture. Our couch is pretty low to the floor and I have no issues sliding it underneath to get the fur wads and dust cleaned up. After the first use I shook it out and was amazed/grossed out by all the dust and hair that came off. I had just vacuumed a few days before! Awesome product and worth every penny. Seems like a lot to spend on a mop but if you add up what you're paying for the dry cloths, it pays for itself in no time. Love the fact that it's made in the USA, washable and comes off and goes back on easily with Velcro.

Just How I Remembered my Grandmother's Duster!
I've been buying those flat floor dusters for several years including getting what I thought were upgrades when offered. They are difficult in getting into all corners and don't necessarily pick up hairs, grass etc. but move them about instead. By chance I just happened to see this floor duster and immediately recalled the duster my grandmother used. I ordered the one with a wood handle that arrived yesterday. Oh my word, this duster is amazing! I finished dusting my kitchen wood floors and granite entryway in no time. The dust just disappeared into the mop without anything being left behind. This mop doesn't just push dust or other debris like grass or flakes from packing material about, it lifts it off the floor. I did my baseboards and the dust just disappeared. I've now just ordered the hand duster for my tables, ceiling fans, window sills etc. I'm so delighted to have found these products. Sometimes the old style meaning all wool mop as in this case is so much better than the advertised "better and upgraded" products. This product makes my cleaning so much easier and fulfilling!

Absolutely wonderful mop!
Who would sing praises to a dust mop, of all things? I would. This is a fabulous mop. Connector to handle is plastic but very very sturdy. "String" part is secured to the base of the mop like a limpet. No need for a dusting product; lanolin in the wool. Perfect for dust bunnies! It will not pick up stuff like sand, etc. For this you need a broom and dustpan or a vacuum cleaner. I mop up all the stuff, gently lift the mop to release the little bits, and vacuum them up with my Bissell vacuum made for hardwood (http://smile.amazon.com/BISSELL-PowerEdge-Corded-Vacuum-81L2A/dp/B00450U7V8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416463423&sr=8-1&keywords=bissel+hardwood+floor+vacuum). Then I shake the mop outside to remove the dust. This mop and that vacuum are a killer combination! Just put in hardwood thruout the house, and my "new hobby" (ahem) is keeping my floors clean. This mop and the Bissell vacuum almost make it a pleasure! At the very least, they make it easy and quick. What's not to like? mb Update: I found something even better than the Bissell vac. It's this hand-vac: BLACK + DECKER CHV1410L. https://www.amazon.com/BLACK-DECKER-CHV1410L-Cordless-Lithium/dp/B006LXOJC0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489130728&sr=8-1&keywords=BLACK+%2B+DECKER+CHV1410L With that and this mop, I hardly ever bring out the Bissell vac.

IT WORKS. END OF DISCUSSION
I've spent untold $$ on all manner of dusters, dust mops, swiffers, and the like and all were worthless. This simple tool slays them all. It does not push dust and cat hair around, it attracts and holds onto it until shaken out. Follow the instruction supplied. Lightly spritz the mop with a bit of plain water to make the yarn fibers expand and set it aside for a day. It will be dry and relaxed. I purposely bought the wood pole version because I had all of the magic poles I can stand. I am well pleased and I am an old hard so-and-so who is tough to please. Thrilled to find American made quality. Yes, it is pricey when compared to the imported junk, but this one works well beyond any expectation. I am ordering a second head today.

Saying this has an 18" dusting area is "stretching it"
[Based on feedback from the maker I've added an update at the end of my review] For the most part I like this mop a lot. I try to buy and support small American business whenever it’s possible, which isn’t that often these days. I like things made out of local, renewable, natural materials that don’t feel they have to be trendy. In this case I’m not buying a mop to be trendy; I’m buying it to dust my floors. I already have a closet full of mops and vacuum cleaners too. They are all fine for what they are meant to do. But for my home, which has all hardwood floors and is in the middle of the dusty desert, every one of them is a chore to use, even the rechargeable vacs, because they either need to be dampened, or plugged in or have the receptacle emptied. I was after something I could simply grab each and every morning and give all of the floors a quick dust mopping, then shake the mop out and go on with my day. Even the dry mops that janitors use didn’t quite fit the bill because of their shape they have to be “aimed”. The Sta-Dust is something I can literally just push/pull/swirl in any direction … push it under cabinets and furniture, rub it along the baseboards, etc. and I’m done with it. So those are the positives. But I do have a few disappointments. I won’t include that it’s not cheap because I don’t mind paying for quality and I am the one who made the choice to pop for it. No, the little idiosyncrasies are just small things that I would think that a company who has been making the same product since 1909 could have figured out. WHAT ARE THE NEGATIVES? Things like the hanging hole in the handle. I should mention I purposely chose the natural wood handle over the newer metal style because I find it easier to hold and (as some people have mentioned) it won’t bend or break if I rap the mop against the side of the house to shake it off. But when the handle is screwed in properly the hanging hole doesn’t line up with a screw, nail or hook in the wall. See the photo I attached. It is about 45 degrees off-center and because the head of the mop doesn’t twist if I do hang it using the hole the mop doesn’t lie flat against the wall. Gee, after 107 years you would think they would have figured that out. [See update below] And on the subject of hanging the mop, logic says that when you hang it the mop would lie flat against the wall or swivel to a vertical position. But no, the mop hangs with the head at a 90 degree angle to the wall so it sticks out about a foot … easy to trip on and if you hang it in a closet as I do it takes up a lot of valuable space. One minor quibble is that almost 100% of the mop is natural materials … wood, metal, wool EXCEPT the connector between the handle and the mop head which is made of plastic. Time will tell how long that piece lasts before it cracks but why cut corners on that one tiny part when you make everything else so well? [See update below] The last thing, and unfortunately for Sta-Dust company lost them a full rating point, is that the actual usable cloth dusting area is no more than 14-15” wide over a 12" metal frame. Everything the manufacturer claims says it is 18” and that’s a big difference. I was really looking forward to a full 18” width and not only was I disappointed when I got it but I feel I was misled. They've been making this product for 107 years, why do they feel the need to play games with reality? That extra few inches translates to just that much more work for me, the user, when I do my daily dusting. If I had known how small this is I would have bought their Wooly Mammoth version which claims to be 24” wide. [See update below] [UPDATE] the manufacturer has commented that the plastic piece that connects the handle to the mop will be replaced by them if it ever breaks. Based on that I no longer consider the construction of the piece a negative. They also have a fix for the hanging hole which is to tie a piece of string through the hole to help make the mop hang straight. I tried it and it works. Finally, they say that over time the mop will get fluffier and eventually stretch out to the claimed 18". That's a long way to stretch but I'll give it some time and report back later if it really expands that much. After seeing the mop I still think it is smaller than I expected and wish I had opted for the Wooly Mammoth. That's something you also may want to consider if you have a large area to mop on a regular basis.

This Mop is Fantastic!
I don't leave a lot of reviews but I really like this product - so much so that I just ordered the small hand duster. It is lightweight, very easy to use and picks up dust and fluff like a magnet! Then I just shake it out and it's good to go! While I have a swiffer I actually hate using it - it feels so wasteful and it only picks up some stuff and then I have to o back over it against with a dustbuster, which is annoying for quick touch ups. Not only does this sladust pick up a lot more "stuff" it also is a greener option. And it reminds me of my Grandma, in the best possible way! IFinally, I like the fact that it is American-made, particularly now. I didn't receive this product for free, nor was I asked to review it - I just want the company to do well!

Great Product!
The constant challenge as an owner of multiple pets is dealing with shedding and little messes the fur babies leave behind. Milk bone crumbs, food particles, pet hair, remnant fibers from play toys and the like are easy to contend with now. In less than 5 minutes I can clean all the vinyl planking and hardwood surfaces of 90% (by weight) of debris compared to 20 minutes of vacuuming. Now I only have to vacuum one day a week and am no longer embarrassed when guests drop by. I know many consumers have reported to plastic part that attaches the dust mop head to the handle as appearing flimsy. My initial impression was the same sentiment, but after several months of rigorous use, my concerns have been laid to rest about it being the weak link in an otherwise superbly constructed product! I have violently shaken this mop to release dust and debris from its wool fibers without and hint of failure or compromised performance. I have even scanned the connector with the intention of 3D printing a replacement made from carbon fiber. My carbon fiber filament is still in the airtight foil package! Highly recommend this product for rapid cleanup on smooth surfaces.
