Exceptional value - worth buying
After my expensive, popular brand-name electric glass kettle stopped working, I wondered whether I could find a replacement that was reasonably priced but also equally effective. As customer reviews play an important part in my purchasing decision, I was excited by the positive feedback on the Amazon Basics Electric Glass Kettle, so I decided to buy it. This 1.7 litre kettle is exactly as shown on Amazon. Though its standard glass may not have the same thermal shock resistance as kettles with borosilicate glass, I find it to be sturdy and of good quality. Furthermore, as this kettle does not produce โrapid boilโ (2200W to 3000W), there is no risk of it cracking under rapid temperature fluctuations. However, I found that a full kettle could boil in less than 5 minutes, and that I am able to regulate the water temperature much more accurately than with my previous rapid boil kettle! With total visibility, I am both able to monitor water levels and notice any mineral build-up (or scale). I should also mention that the kettle has a removable limescale filter which is important to me as I live in a very hard-water rural area. I clean the kettle at least once a week and have never had issues with negative tastes. When I consider the noise level, I find it interesting that this kettle has a moderate rattle compared to the violent roar of my last one! When this kettle is in operation, there is a blue LED illumination which is a particularly attractive visual feature. It has a reasonable weight even when filled and would not be a struggle for those with mild arthritic hands. Furthermore, it has a โstay-coolโ handle which I find to be comfortable and non-slip. For a standard glass kettle, this product is exceptional value and I highly recommend it.

Great value, stylish kettle
Only had this kettle for a day so, as yet canโt comment on its longevity, but so far so good. Itโs a nice looking kettle, seems pretty good quality. Flip top lid works well, blue light surround makes a very pleasing visual as the bubbles start forming and rising. Not a fast boiler but switches off at the appropriate point. Overall pretty impressed with this kettle I have to say. Especially at the price. Definitely one of the best kettles Iโve owned so far. So long as it doesnโt blow up in 3 months itโs Great value for money

Solid, reliable, fast boiling.
This Amazon Basics electric kettle hits the sweet spot between affordability and functionality. Cranks out a full kettle (1.7 L, mind you) in what feels like no timeโthanks to the hefty 3000 W heating element, so mornings donโt have to involve arm-flapping impatience. The matte black finish gives it some minimal flair, and surprisingly the only plastic you touch is the inside (BPA-free), so nothing nasty gets into your tea. The design is sensibly thought-out: cordless pour-off from a 360ยฐ base, neat cord storage, auto shut-off, boil-dry protection, and a Strix thermostatโbasically built like a tank for daily use. The removable scale filter is a small win if youโre not into mineral gunk. User feedback echoes what youโd expectโmostly โgood valueโ and โquiet enoughโโbut with a couple of gripes about boil speed or lid quirks. Still, most folks genuinely love it. Bottom line: Youโre getting a workhorse kettle that doesnโt pretend to be fancy, looks decent enough on your countertop, and wonโt destroy your budget. A solid buy.

Temperature control kettle on a budget...
This is our first kettle with a temperature control function, and after just a few months of owning this, it's hard to imagine going back to a "normal" kettle. As an Amazon Basics Kettle, the design and build are okay, and seem about right given the price. It feels like a cheap kettle. But it is a cheap kettle, so that's okay. The temperature control works in 5 degree increments, and you simply set the temperature you want, and start it going. The keep warm function has its own button, so that's simple too. The little display shows the temperature settings as you adjust, or the temperature of the water when the kettle is on. The lid is easy to open, and although it doesn't open back as far as some kettles (barely 90 degrees), it is easy enough to fill. The spout is well designed and pours perfectly with no drips. The kettle is not super quiet, but an advantage of the temperature control (especially for making hot drinks) is that the temperature is usually going to be 75-90 degrees, so never reaches boiling point, so avoids that loud boiling instance. Another advantage of staying below boiling point is you get hardly any steam from the kettle. As for the drinks, I personally drink black coffee, so being able to set it to 85 degrees, and have a cup of coffee that is the perfect temperature right out of the kettle is great. No need to wait, or add some cold water. And no waisted energy heating the water beyond the necessary temperature. The keep warm function doesn't work indefinitely. But it is useful for having the water ready for top ups or second cups. Since the kettle is not a double wall, it would be inefficient to use the keep warm function beyond that use case anyway. The temperature control is so convenient, and probably worth the price difference when compared to budget kettles lacking this feature. And two months later, so far so good. Recommended.

Simply put: A very nice kettle.
As far as kettles go this one is good; really good.... ...and it's pretty fast and not very noisy at all. Pours easily; easy to fill, see and vary the water level. All-in-all a very pleasing purchase.

Basic price, not basic kettle
Surprisingly good. Doesn't look cheap and works better than my old temperature controlled kettle. This one has a neat feature where when you set the temperature for heating or 'keep warm', it remembers the setting after you turn off. All my previous ones, you had to set the temperature each time and it always defaulted to 100C. It's not a fast boil type as it only has a 2kW element. The one thing I miss from my previous kettle is that it would beep when it was done, which was useful when it was set to stop before boiling, so you wouldn't hear it gurgling and with no mechanical switch, there's no 'click' noise either. Be careful with the outside jug temperature though, as this kettle does not have a double skin so the outside stainless steel jug will be as hot as the water inside.

Super kettle, lights up every kitchen.
Love these kettles, especially the lovely blue light when you switch them on. Great quality and even better price.

worth the money
Perfect for the price. It's easy to clean and operates very quietly with almost no noise. My first impression is very positive, and it seems to be good quality. The only concern I have is about the glass, as I'm not sure how durable it will be over time. Other than that, I'm very happy with the purchase so far.
