An absolutely brilliant novel!! (Yes, A Novel with pics!)
So if you have not read this graphic novel before I highly suggest you do so as fast as possible! This book is written by the goat of the comic book industry! This is Alan Moore’s Swan song, and probably his greatest masterpiece! On the cover of this book, it says New York Times bestseller, and one of Time magazines, best novels of all time, and I could not agree with this comment more than I do already This is not just a graphic novel. This is a masterpiece of storytelling and I can see why this Novel has been studied, dissected and taught at the college level in writing classes, all across the planet for decades I have read Countless works of fiction and this Is the crème de la crème I would say this is easily in the top 10 of all published fictional writing in the last 100 years if not the last 200 years The storytelling in this novel is so layered you can read this thing two dozen times and still not get everything out of it that the author and artist wanted you to get and that’s what has made this thing such an endearing novel for over 40 years This is a Masterpiece of Fictional writing/storytelling And it should not be missed because it is in the category of a graphic novel and has pretty pictures inside of it. (which are also absolutely stunning and amazing) The writer, Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons were working on a total different level when they created this masterpiece years and years ago! I cannot recommend this book more than I already am and if you pick it up, I hope you enjoy the ride and once you are finished reading it once or twice then I recommend going online and browsing the Internet for all of the secret hidden things you have missed that are buried so deep inside of this novel!

Alan Moore's Best Work and One of the Best Ever Graphic Novels Now In Deluxe Edition Format!
It's rare that a graphic novel lives up to its hype and Alan Moore's best ever work certainly fits the bill fully deserving of its spot among Time magazine's best novels of all time. For me this and Frank Miller's "Dark Knight Returns" are the best graphic novels ever written with Spiegelman's "Maus", Moore's own "V For Vendetta" and Gaiman's "Sandman" series following one tier below. The movie doesn't come even close to being as good as its source material and I strongly recommend reading this to get the full story that the movie just doesn't do justice to. There have been some nice follow ups to this story such as the very good Darwyn Cooke "Before Watchmen: Minutemen & Silk Spectre" and the promising Geoff Johns' "Doomsday Clock" series that's currently unwinding but this here is the one any self-respecting adult comic fan has got to have in their collection. The Deluxe Edition has been very well done with the larger pages and the surprisingly very well done binding for a DC book. The dust cover is beautiful and so is the actual hardcover design and the binding is sewn making it easy to stay open from the very first page on a flat surface with no gutter loss at all. The story is a true classic that rewards repeated reading and I find something new at each read. Moore's story is fabulous and so is Dave Gibbons' artwork making this possibly the best ever writer/artist pairing in graphic novel history and this Deluxe Edition is the best version of this iconic story this is currently out there. Very, very highly recommended!

Alan Moore's best ever! Dave Gibbon's art is the best of the mid '80s!
Many of us know the history-story of this groundbreaking book;. if not, one has to read it and recall the old school superhero books from the old days. I call it "superheroes upside down"; it's not the usual comic by any means.. It arrived in a largish box, no padding/packing and is 99.9% Perfect. The three Gaiman Sandman and three Morrison Batman omnibi in said box had the usual very small dings; at least they are basically "undamaged"; meaning they're keepers. Just a few years ago I'd collected quite a few of the Marvel Omnibus releases; FF4, Hulk, The Avengers, Captain America, Doom Patrol by Morrison/Case (BIG book-my favorite btw.), Spidey..all arrived in great condition. Amazon, please charge me extra for packing and shipping for these affordable classics! Mule

Watchmen is a Classic, and this Gives you the Full Story of it Plus Pretty Neat Bonus Contents. The Print Quality is Great, and the Hard Back really Makes this Feel like a Premium Product. This is at a Great Price, and is 100% Worth it. Though, if you Don't Care for the Extra Content and just Want the Story on it's Own get the 2019 Edition, as it's the Same thing Minus the Bonus Content and Hardback. Also, if you Don't wanna Pay, or Cant Pay, you can Find PDF's Online!

worth it
If you want to know about many watershed literary and comic book themes within the last part of the 20th century and the start of the 21st century, then look no further than the watchmen. Despite its title the graphic novel has much to say about heroic women as well!! Don’t delay; act fast; because you won’t be disappointed. And hopefully you will get swept away in all the doomsday fun, the whodunnit story structure, the end of the world angst, a reversal of the deus ex machina, the multi-layered character development, and a whole lot more. Buy it and read it!!

Got Me Into Comics/Graphic Novels!
One of the best books you could ever read and appreciate the illustrations that will make you want to enter into the world that is comics. Completely worth reading if you are interested in a unique take on superhero/vigilante stories. I find it even more interesting it takes real world events and twists them to fit the narrative of the characters better.

5 stars not just for content, but also new binding
Unlike the original glue binding, this 14th printing from 3/2024 is perfect for lay flat reading with a small "eye". Currently a fantastic price on Amazon for this hardcover deluxe edition. My wife is gonna give me a brow beating and tongue lashing for all the Absolutes, Deluxe, and Omnibus I've been ordering this holiday season. Damn large format/graphic novel hoarding problems.

Cannot reccomend this comic futher . Too good 👌
This is a magnificent piece of fiction written by one of the greatest comic book writers , alan moore . Questions the reality of what would man with the power of superheroes produce towards the world . Its a critically aclaimed deconstruction of loss of humanity and briliiant display of the "god complex " .

Call me a Watchman now for more Dave Gibbons and Alan Moore. Genius and not optional.
Firstly I want to apologise to the great Alan Moore and especially to Dave Gibbons. Why? Well my first exposure to "WATCHMEN" was in the form of the 2009 movie. My reaction to it was total and utterly appalled disbelief and so I wrote everything to do with the movie off. It seemed so pointless and utterly devoid of any re-watchability. Firstly to Dave Gibbons I must profusely apologies because Rogue Trooper is one of my all time favourite comic book creations and his artwork has always blown me away. His Green Lantern work was also stunning so how dare I not even consider the WATCHMEN comic series. All I can do is apologize, my excuse is the movie turned me off. The same equally heart felt and very strong apology must be made to the great Mr Moore, who I will be seeking every scrap of his writing now(Swamp Thing here I come for starters.) WATCHMEN the comic series is totally, seriously mind blowingly stunning. The epic magnitude of the story is utterly superb and what makes it so incredible is that it is so far removed from your typical super hero black and white done to death good versus evil, hero sorts out the bad guys tale. Oh No, here we have a story which takes so much of the aspects to being human we all know exist, yet never seem to want to confront. Well what was most incredible here is how well it took the scary concept of atomic annihilation which is real even today, let alone the cold war period(did it ever really end when you think of todays wars for example?) and mixes it with human realities. The way the story takes the lives of the characters and wraps conspiracy, intrigue, human needs, greed and arrogance and finding the deeper meaning in actions taken is stunning. Alan Moore was 100% correct. WATCHMEN was created in a way that really shows what Comics can do with a mix of comic story, written passages(the background at the end of each chapter blew me away and adds to the story in unique special ways. They become the stories within the story.) and the artwork!!!!! I mean it wasn't just quick slap dash thrown together ideas, it was carefully planned right down to the angles of the characters and showcased in connected pictures in a way no movie could ever hope to achieve. The main reason is that the story is not just a single linear story, it's multiple stories, the background stories of the characters, the attitudes of the media, the commercial seedy undertow all at once and it works amazingly well. You couldn't achieve this in a movie, it's just not possible. Now I may actually return to all the media just to watch fragments of the characters in a motion picture form, but the real story or should I say stories is what will be spinning in my head. The movie/s and series will be simply icing on the already stunning cake so to speak. Alan actually declared he never wanted to watch a single media creation from the Watchmen and the reason is that he wrote the story specifically and in a special way to work with the comic form mixed with the novel form. If that's not enough a side story is mixed into the blend which forms a purpose for a character. In fact the way each character no matter how big or small plays an essential role to the overall work is what really wowed me with this stunning work. Look you simply have to read WATCHMEN to appreciate the gravity and awe of the incredible story which has one of the most satisfying endings to a story I've ever read and I'll be returning to this volume again and again as I think you can get something out of it with each read but best of all, this is true comic appreciation at it's finest. Now I understand why it's been declared one of the greatest graphic novels ever made. The reason is, BECAUSE IT IS!!!! READ IT!!!!
