My PIP middle finger is quite swollen. This allows you to bend the springs outward to accommodate the swelling. Also my hands are about 8" long and the size D fits perfectly. I think it'd work for a 7" hand for the middle finger as well. It also fits my pointer and ring fingers.

I think the product is fine its just too loose on my finger. I needed a smaller size but it's hard to order the size if you don't know what you wear. So I would order again just a smaller size.
