A Perfect Introduction to Ticket to Ride for Kids
Ticket to Ride: First Journey is an excellent family board game that introduces younger players to the classic Ticket to Ride experience in a simple, fun, and engaging way. My kids picked up the rules in just a few minutes, and we were able to start playing right away. The game is easy enough for younger children to understand, but still strategic enough to keep parents involved and entertained. The colorful train cards, vibrant board, and easy-to-follow routes make it exciting without being overwhelming. Games typically finish in about 20 minutes, which is the perfect length to keep everyone's attention. Pros: -Simple rules that kids can learn quickly -Great introduction to strategy and planning -High-quality game components -Fast-paced games with minimal downtime -Fun for both kids and adults Cons: -Experienced gamers may find it too simple -Limited complexity compared to the original Ticket to Ride Overall, this is a fantastic family game that encourages critical thinking, turn-taking, and problem-solving while remaining fun and accessible. If you're looking for a board game that bridges the gap between children's games and family strategy games, Ticket to Ride: First Journey is a wonderful choice. Highly recommended for families with young kids!

Fun game for the whole family
This game is SOO much fun, for kids and adults. We’ve always enjoyed the adult version, bit since having kids haven’t played much. My 7yo picked this right up, and even my 5 yr old is starting to figure it out. She plays with an adult still but she’s starting to play on her own. What I like is kids that can’t read yet don’t have to be able to read the names of the cities, because they also have symbols the kids can match to see where their train routes are. It is challenging, and has the kids use critical thinking skills at an age appropriate level. The size of the board is perfect. The quality is top notch. I will say if you’ve never played before, it takes some time to read the rules and understand how to play (even as an adult) but I would say, just watch a YouTube video. Once you get it, it’s easy. Highly recommend!

A great Introduction to the franchise for all ages.
The Ticket to Ride First Journey Board Game is a fantastic introduction to the beloved Ticket to Ride series, designed specifically for younger players. The rules are simple and easy to learn, making it perfect for kids while still offering enough strategy to keep adults engaged. The quality is excellent, with a sturdy game board and durable train pieces that hold up well to repeated play. The cards are well designed, featuring bright, engaging artwork that makes gameplay even more enjoyable. For the price, it’s a great value, providing a fun, educational experience that teaches kids about geography and planning routes. The gameplay is perfectly paced, ensuring players stay engaged without long wait times. If you’re looking for a quality, easy to learn board game that’s perfect for family game nights, Ticket to Ride First Journey is a fantastic choice! Highly recommended for young gamers and families alike!

Go to YouTube for directions
Fun game! The board, cards and packaging are all great, the pieces are very cheap, and the written directions are terrible- skip them and watch one of several 2 minute YouTube videos for rules and game play.

Quality All Across the Board
This game is excellent. Where to begin. Just picking up the box you can tell the quality. It is HEAVY! The components in this game are great. The construction of the board is one of the best I have ever seen. It is thick, has sturdy folds, large (easy for people to crowd around), and has some nice visuals which are important for children to use if they cannot read yet so trying to complete a ticket is able to be done by a younger child. The plastic train pieces are detailed, and the game comes with extras just in case (with kids you are bound to lose some.....possibly even to them playing with the nice pieces outside of using them for the game because they are that nice) and each color comes with its own zip-lock baggie. The card are thick, appealing, and high quality with a nice sheen, and the organizer in the box fits everything perfectly. The game play is simple yet competitive, where you need to strategize and possibly try to block your opponents ability to create a route to complete tickets (the objective of the game) if you can figure out their goals. This game can be played on so many levels, even as a quick game with adults (if you want to have more competition, you can play with a modified rule set which is awesome. You can basically use the "express" version rules to increase difficulty so the game can grow with the children's ability to provide years of entertainment!) Younger children can even play it and be competitive against adults as well because the game has an intuitive rule set. This game is a win on so many different levels that I wish other games were made and designed as well as this.

Our whole family enjoys this game!
This is one of the only games that all family members enjoy playing in our house. We suffer through Candy Land, and Go Fish, etc., but this one is actually fun for everybody. I like that it familiarizes my kids with lots of different cities – – even some cities in Canada.

Simplemente genial!

Easy to learn and super fun!
I ended up getting this as a duplicate gift, but my 10 year old daughter just loves it. She asks me to play it with her every night. She seems to never get bored of it.
