what do i do with the outlet on this product?

Hi. This product is used to remove ground loop hum/buzz from audio equipment. You plug this device into the wall and then you plug in the audio equipment power cord from a PA system, Home Theater Audio System, or any other audio system or musical instrument amplifier that you can hear ground loop "buzzing" out of the speaker/s. It is intended to be inserted between the wall outlet and the device you are plugging into the wall outlet. It will only remove the hum or buzz from the device/s you plug into it. If you want to remove hum or buzz from multiple devices, you can plug a power strip or any other multiple outlet plug adaptor into the Btuty Buzz Eliminator. It does not remove hum or buzz from the entire building you are in. It is an in-line ground loop "filter". Hope this helps.

You need a ground cable or strap for that

I never tried it. But it sure works with a regular power strip
