Excellent Smart Timer with Outstanding Customer Service!
The RAINPOINT WiFi Sprinkler Timer 2 has been a total game-changer for my lawn and garden. Setup was straightforward, and the app is very intuitive—scheduling and adjusting watering times from my phone is incredibly convenient. I love the flexibility it offers with multiple zones and smart watering features that help conserve water based on weather conditions. After about 6 months of regular use, one of the components started to malfunction. I reached out to RAINPOINT’s customer service and was genuinely impressed. They responded promptly, diagnosed the issue, and quickly sent a replacement part at no cost. Their professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction really stood out. If you’re looking for a reliable, easy-to-use smart sprinkler system backed by exceptional support, this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend

Awesome time-saver
This is an easy to set up and reasonably long-lasting timer. I bought the “2 zone timer” initially - it comes with both a timer to hook to your hoses, and a hub to place indoors. Mine had a plastic fitting on top but I see they’ve upgraded to a brass fitting now, which is very helpful. It was easy to set up, from connecting to wifi to adding the device in the Alexa app, and it’s so helpful to just say “Alexa, turn on the gnome garden water for 10 minutes.” The original set lasted 3 years, stored indoors during winter to prevent freezing. This year though when I put fresh batteries in, the yellow timer was dead. I was very pleased to see they now sell just the timer - the hub was still working fine. So Amazon twisted my arm with a 15% discount and I pounced. Setting up the new timer was even easier; I just deleted the old one in the app, pressed the buttons per the directions to pair, and the timer was immediately ready to use. The two big physical buttons on the timer are very helpful - your spouse doesn’t have to unhook the timer to get a quick fill of water, you can just push the button. It blinks to show when it’s on. I also love how they include plumbing tape and rubber washers, so you get a good seal without drips. I did add a pressure regulator right above the timer to help the new one last even longer. There’s also a 5-year warranty now so I’m extremely pleased with the company’s support.

Great units and app, take inside over winter, great support / warranty!
The controllers work amazing. Easy to set up with the hub. Once the hub is set up, pairing is simple. The app is very easy to set up schedules and work flawlessly. However... I left them connected for the winter (thinking I could) and something inside seems to have broken as the units are both leaking from the casing and top of the water connection line. I reached out to support (within warranty period) and they are replacing BOTH units with a simple piciture / video. Really no hassle at all. I did order 2 new ones on amazon as well with Brass fittings (they did not have them when I bought the original plastic units) but the plastic ones worked fine for the season. I hope that taking them in in the winter prevents cracking in the future, I imagine water was still inside them or something even though I drained the hoses / turned off water line for winter. I also purchased 6 quick connect pieces that work for my setup to make taking them out for the season / putting them back in easier but those were from another company. TLDR Great support but bring them in over winter if you get cold temps.

Great product with even better customer support!
Over the last 3 years I have purchased 6 of the single timer versions of this product plus 2 hubs. We do not have an in-ground sprinkler system and these have worked wonderfully for our drip watering systems at various location in our yard, as well as multiple daily watering for new grass seed where patching bare spots or repairing damage. Each timer can be set up on the phone app with 3 daily schedules (when to start and how long to run), each of which can be on any day or days of the week. Since all of this is wifi instead of bluetooth, you can adjust this from anywhere you have internet access. There are also 3 rain delay choices of 24, 48 and 72 hours so that you can pause the schedules for each timer. Which leads to one of my minor but real disappointments in the app: you have to set the rain delays for each timer. So, in my case, I have to go into the settings for each of the now-eight timers one at a time and hit the rain delay. OMG, if it's raining in the front yard then it's also raining in the side and back yards, just give my the option of a universal switch that affects all the timers as a group! It would also eliminate the air-headed moments where I miss changing one of them as I go thru the whole group. My other minor complaint is that the battery holder is extremely hard to remove. Since it is obviously super-important that the compartment be waterproof, I get it, but I've actually broken a flange on a couple of them while trying to pull it out. I have now learned that it is a a bit easier to put your hands around the unit and push the holder out from the body rather than try to pull it out. And speaking of batteries, it is specified that you should not use rechargeable ones but I have done so from the start without any problems. They last throughout the entire season. I do wish the app would show battery strength tho. I've had one significant issue with the timers, repeated a couple times. and each time their tech support has promptly and thoroughly corrected it. That issue is that the coupling at the top (the part that screws onto the hose bib), can break from the weight and pull of a hose, so you have to be careful to minimize that tension as much as possible. However, each time one of them broke they promptly sent me a replacement timer. BTW, this 2-zone timer has addressed that issue by replacing the plastic coupler with metal one that I assume will hold up much better. So, I cannot recommend these timers strongly enough, especially if you go for the 2-zone model with the metal coupling.

GARBAGE - 12 MONTH SHELF LIFE
This thing is garbage. The battery drain is excessive, the shelf life appears to only be 12 months. I've had 5 of these, each one has failed. I don't leave them out year round. I store them when the summer / gardening season is over. Every year I tend to be replace one or both of these because the internal seals fail, causing water to flood throughout the entire unit. That's $150 per year for a hose timer... :( I love the app, the connectivity, and the ease of these units, but I am going to be replacing these with something else, as they are a garbage product and the build quality is poor.
