does it take super wide turns or can I take tight turns as I am on a college campus and need maneuverability?

It's pretty sharp on it's turns. I'm also on a college campus every day and it suits my needs just fine. I get to all my classes on time. It's really a great board.

Is there any shock pads under the trucks?

There is a plastic plate between the board and truck mount. The board itself is very flexy.

If i buy this board, i'd like to put bigger wheels on it. in your experience what's the biggest size i can put on this board (w/o wheel bite) ?

If you check out the dimensions of the board, you'll see quite a bit of space for bigger wheels. Even with the bigger wheels, the board can't turn hard enough to have the board touch the wheels... The board will actually scrape the ground since it's so low if you turn hard enough.

Is this board good for boardwalking?

I haven't tried that yet, I probably won't unless I have the proper gloves and I'm prepared to fall and get hurt.
