Bosch SDMS44 44-Piece Assorted Impact Tough Screwdriving Custom Case System Set for Screwdriving Applications

Pros: customizable, can use one-handed Cons: none for me I like Bosch bits, but I specifically bought this for the case (SDMS40 40-Piece). You can customize it to your bit desires and you can use it one-handed. And even though it can be used one-handed, the bits still stay in place. Case/bit accessibility is frequently a point of frustration with other brands and often requires both hands. This is dreamy. Mine came with a bonus clip insert and I bought an extra clip insert to be able to have all 2” bits in the main load out. This provided enough room for my dual set of fractional/metric hex bits and Torx bits. I hate 1” bits with a minor passion and was glad to be almost all 2s (though I retain some 1” for necessary situations). As you can see in my pic, you can take the 1” clips and stand them up inside, as the open space on the opposite side of the case will accommodate them when closing the case. The 2” clips and 1” clips hold the bits in different ways, so they can’t really be used interchangeably very effectively. If you’re considering getting extra clip inserts for an all 2” load-out, you will find there are clips that look the same but have different starting prefixes on the model numbers, either CCS or ITD. They are all the same from what I can tell, regardless if they start with CCS or ITD. The bonus clip that came with my case was packaged in its own wrapper and was identified as an ITDxxxxxx model number. The extra clip I ordered separately was identified with a CCSxxxxxx. There was no discernible difference between them, other than one line being cheaper than the other. Good bits, but buy it for the case. This is a treat. (Note: mine is one of the solid cases, not one of the clear-top ones.)

These bits are way more durable than the random ones that come bundled with most drills and I noticed immediately they handle the torque from an impact driver without stripping or rounding out. The case is super well organized with a spot for every bit so I can actually find what I need without dumping everything out onto my workbench. Solid investment for anyone who does a decent amount of DIY work around the house or on cars.

Works well

These are great modular cases to create custom bit kits. The removable clips don't have pocket clips. Maybe Bosch with make a pocket clip that these clips can be attached to... I bought the 48 piece because it has 6 bit clips. I found another bit case at a local hardware store which had 3 clips in it with 24 bits and wanted it mostly for the extra clips and some of the bits since only one side of the case can hold bits as the face side is clear and has no clip retainers. I do wish it were easy to find Pozidriv and both metric and imperial hex bits made by Bosch. I usually get Wiha in bulk. I have several Milwaukee bit boxes that I use to put my own custom bit assortments in for installation kits. I like this bit container because the clips can be easily removed and I can leave the case in my tool box and decided to try this out to possibly replace my other bit cases. It does work well for assembling custom bit kits with my own screwdriving bits, nut setters, drill and countersink bits, extensions and bit holders. The insert bit clips are designed to hold bits with a torsion design but it is possible to smash a standard bit into the individual retainers by forcing a small tab over flat to the side and forcing the bit in to place. Or, by just forcing the bit into place and the small tab will move. I was hoping to see a way each clip could be clipped on to a pocket or belt or something. Once removed from the case the clip has to either be carried or put into a tool pouch or a pocket. I have some really cool Festool bit holders that do clip onto a pocket well and they're extremely useful. What if the bosch clips could be clipped to something that fastens to the belt clip area of drill and driver handles? I would use that. The case is abs, has a rubber over-mold and is easy to open, it won't pinch your hand at the back of the hinge when you open it and the latch is spring tensioned so that it latches itself when you close the lid and the lid closes with minimal pressure but with a solid feel. Sort of like closing the door on a benz. Very nice. The silver behind the bits in the image is a loose card stock paper that is easy to remove. The clips have two different designs, one design is for 1" (25mm) and one is for powerbits with a ball-groove. The bit's are among the best value I've found for high performance bits and hold up as well as my Wiha, Wera, Apex, Zephyr and Qualtool industrial bits. The bits also just look really cool. They perform extremely well and have become my favorite impact bits. I continue to be impressed with their durability and toughness. They can withstand metal to metal fastening which will shatter most bits when performed with a modern impact driver. The case is 6 ⅝" X 4 3//8" X 2 ⅛" (16.7 X 11 X 5.5cm) L x W x D. The case has 4 hexagonal recesses on the latch edge with 2 between each side of the latch and each corner. They will hold bits upright and not tightly. These are useful for a place to temporarily set bits for projects that require frequent bit changes. Bit's are easily placed and removed from the clips. the clips designed for longer bits have a recess that guides your bit when replacing it and helps locate it into the clip. It works best to first insert the base end of the bit perpendicularly into the clip where there is a hex shaped area which will help get the bit located properly and it can then be tilted over to lay flat and clipped in place. I like it. I hope this is helpful.

Good assorted bits. It helped in most of my projects. The quality of the bits and the case is excellent.

I own a Milwaukee impact driver, and as such I needed some quality impact bits. I've been using a standard bit set made for a drill, one wonders how I haven't broken them yet, as they are not made for impacts. After receiving these bits from Bosch, I have got to say, this is a really nice set! This set comes with several Phillips #1, #2, and #3 bits, as well as Robertson R1, R2, and R3. This set also includes Torx bits T15, T20, and T25 bits, as well as, double sided bits, and a magnetic bit holder. All the bits can be angled outward for easy removal, and the bit trays can be changed around in the case for convenience. Bosch makes excellent molded cases, I am very pleased with this one, as it has rubber around the edges to keep the case from easily moving around. These bits are quality and do not break, and the bits make for a solid connection on screw heads. These are not only good for a contractor, but also for a small engine mechanic who has to use some of these sizes. I highly recommend them, 5 out of 5 stars!

Really, really nice set for what I paid. The case is awesome, the red trays are removable and modular, you can rearange the box if say you wanted to fill it with long bits or something. Right now I have one tray with a single of each bit in my powerpint holster on my belt and I think it’s a great setup, much better, cheaper and lighter than my old Leatherman wave with the bit set I used to carry, which was just too heavy and too bulky. The bits grab great, aka no cam out, which is my number 1 gripe with cheap bits, it’s almost like they’re purposely designed to cam out, not these they feel very solid on screws. I don’t even own an impact drill, I just plan on using these like any other bit, but it’s nice to know if I ever run into a situation where I need impact bits I have these. Personally I would have really liked to see a single flathead in the collection, as well as a ph0 precision Phillips, then all bits I regularly use would have been covered, but there is spare bit slots inside the case so I plan on just scavenging some random ones so I have a complete bit set.

quite complete, worth the money

Bits seem good only complaint is how badly the packaging was damaged do to potentially careless handling. If you're going to give me a discount on my first purchase don't mishandle the product or better yet don't give me that discount and handle it properly. With this level of care I will not use amazon for important or any high value orders and I recommend others to do the same.
