I’ve purchased this joystick replacement kit three separate times, and that alone says how well it works. It has consistently fixed joystick drift issues quickly and reliably every time. The kit is very easy to install, even if you’re not super tech-savvy. The included tools make the process straightforward, and there are plenty of tutorials online if you want extra guidance. Each replacement has worked perfectly right out of the box. I’ve successfully used this kit on both Oculus Quest 2 and Quest 3 controllers, and it’s been fully compatible with both. Once installed, the controllers feel brand new again and the drift is completely gone. If you’re dealing with joystick issues and don’t want to replace an entire controller, this kit is 100% worth it. Reliable, affordable, and effective — I’ll continue to buy it whenever I need a fix.

At first, the lack of any instructions in the package was a bit daunting until I saw that they have a video on youtube, which serves as instructions. Of course, things look deceptively simple in that video and pieces that just popped out or back in on the video did not fit so easily for me. That said, I eventually forced pieces to fit and successfully got everything back together, only to find that the controller didn't work. Pro tip: before reassembling everything, put the battery in to be sure it works. On my second round of disassembly, I found that a ribbon cable was loose, so I fixed that, tried the battery & it worked! It's all back together and looks and works good as new!

The instructional video on the product page wasn't hard to follow, and this kind of work is much easier if you have steady hands. If you're not careful with the controller while taking it apart, you can definitely break parts of the controller. This comes with two joysticks, so you can replace both left and right controllers if need be. It also comes with all of the tools you need, but if you have your own favorite screwdriver, that works too. After about a half hour of taking apart the controller and putting it back together again, the drift was gone, and the quality of the joystick already feels better than the ones that the Quest Touch controllers ship with. I got these about a month ago at the time of writing this, and I have no issues with them yet. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that's okay with saving some money by tinkering with the controllers to fix the drifting issues instead of buying another set of controllers.

So the Philips screwdriver isn't small enough to remove some of the screws. (Luckily, I had my own tool set). Other than that, everything is working perfectly. No stick drift, no nothing. Some people are arguing about how it doesn't have the sensor, so they can't continue. The way to have the sensors work is by transferring the ones from the original controller to the new joysticks. And even if you don't have them, the controller is still usually, you just won't have sensors on the thumb sticks. Other people have been saying that once they finished, the controller was just fried. That is something that does happen if you do this thing to your controller. It's a risk that you have to take if you want to fix your controller. So make sure you don't have any static electricity on yourself and wear rubber gloves and be careful when you do it. Other than the complaints the people have been having about that, it's a good product. Takes some time to put it together but it's worth the outcome. I had stick drift for 1 and a half years and now I'm clear without any of it, feels amazing.

We've tried various ways of fixing of drifting. Finally...the controllers were unusable. Now my kids did get the the new oculus but I wanted to fix the old one. Got these today. Watched a video. Took the controllers apart and swapped out the thumb switches. Put them back together and recalibrate them. Works perfect. All the needed tools are included. Just take a picture of all the screws and lay them out on a drawing. I draw on paper and just push them into the paper based on location. There are 2 longer screws in the top along with two shorter than rest screws that hold the circle wrap around the controllers. Just need to be a bit mechanically inclined to do this just because of disassembly and reassembly.

Item works well in replacing faulty joysticks. However, I have to knock down 2 stars mainly because there seems to be quality control issues with the product. I had to purchase 2 kits because the first one had a faulty replacement. The 2nd kit arrived and I happened to install another faulty joystick. I started to think I might have needed a different model of joystick, but the 2nd joystick in the 2nd kit was flawless when I installed it. In summary, the two kits I had ordered had one faulty module each. It is a good option for the money with all the included tools and no soldering required. Just a bit of a hassle having to install multiple with no easy way to test the sticks before installing them into the device.

The joystick on my controller had horrible drift, when I wasn't even touching it and set it down the joystick registered as it was constantly at the up position. After replacing it using this kit I have 0 drift. Looking at the calibration it stayed directly in the middle without shaking even. As a heads up, this is not as easy to install as the 4 steps in the description lead it to seem. If you are uncomfortable working with tiny objects this would be a real struggle. It does not come with instructions, but you can easily find some if you search 'quest 2 joystick replacement'; I personally used Ima_Rainbow's tutorial. Do note if you use that one, it doesn't explain that you will also need to transfer spring that comes on your quest's original thumbstick so don't throw it out. The flat edge of the joystick's metal piece should be away from the ribbon, VR Review's tutorial shows this at 6:22. Note: If you think you would struggle with it I recommend reaching out to Meta through email. I did and I received an out-of-warranty deal of a refurbished one for $50, despite mine being used and without a box. I just decided to go with the $20 and experience, especially as it came with another piece which would be useful if my other controller gets drift, and I'm sure any future times would be considerably less time.

Kits solid, tools could be stiffer but aren't too floppy im just not good at finessing them, particularly the tweezers Can't say how well they work i gave up halfway through due to the ribbon cable nonsense and opted to buy new controllers instead, 4 star reflects low quality metal tools, not my giving up.

These came in a thin cardboard amazon package so I taught they could be damaged as not much protection, but when I opened it the joysticks were in a little plastic zip lock bag in a little plastic box so they were fine it took about an hour each to fix the controllers from watching a YouTube video i would recommend if you didnt want to spend money on new controllers

Great value and quality

I had my reservations at first about buying this but turned out to be a great product. You definitely need to find a video online to help you with the replacement as there are some tricky aspects to it. The tools included with this kit worked but I had other tools that came in handy too. But once I replaced the joysticks on my sons Oculus they worked great haven't had an issue yet, he was very impressed his mom could fix them. lol. Really good product at a great price.

Das Joystick Ersatz-Set für die Oculus Quest 2 ist ein wirklich hochwertiges Reparaturkit. Es enthält alles, was man für die Reparatur und den Ausbau des Controllers benötigt, inklusive passendem Werkzeug. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Die Anleitung im Lieferumfang hätte deutlich besser sein können. Ich musste mir ein YouTube-Video suchen, um die Reparatur erfolgreich durchzuführen. Ein Link zu einem Tutorial oder einer besseren Anleitung wäre hier hilfreich gewesen. Abgesehen davon bin ich sehr zufrieden und würde das Set definitiv weiterempfehlen.
