Will I be able to put this jar in a pot and boil water around it?

It's not something I've ever tried but I suppose it's possible.

Would this jar hold 1kg of chia seeds?

I really wouldn’t know about chia seeds as I have no idea what they are but as the jar will hold a kilo of most things That’s why it is a kilo jar I don’t see why not.

Are these ok for pickling beetroot

A litre jar is fairly small so depends if you have a lot of beetroot. Check out how big it actually is as the pics can be deceiving. I would say that they are great for pickling! rubber seal helps to keep any air out.

Can a mans large hand fit in jar

This jar is ideal for a largish man's hand. Although tread with cautions as I am certain it would only fit one largish man's hand. You would need another similar sized jar for the other hand. As for the remainder of the body, it would depend very much on how well you have carved it up. Although I do believe Kilner offer a large range of receptacles suitable for most body parts. I would recommend Formaldehyde if you are looking to preserve the hand. Although as this is a Category 1B Carcinogen, Amazon do not supply it, you would need to find a registered supplier.
