Great case, great deal, pick this one up!
I need to preface this review by stating I love Spigen products. I buy all my cases from them. That being said I will be as honest as I can with this review. EDIT: Up to five stars. I've owned this case for almost 3 months now and the one dislike I had about it went away. The case is always snug and always protecting my phone. Perfection! Color/looks: I got the black one and I don't regret it! The tough armor is looking sharper than ever! I seriously am in love with the way this case looks. Features/feel : two piece design feels great, the materials don't contrast a whole lot in color or feel. The textured bixby button is going to help a lot. I LOVE the charger and headphone Cut outs. My test for a headphone jack cut out is one of those green, PC 3.5mm Jacks that seem pretty ubiquitous. It fits in the case (I use one often) so it gets a pass. The kickstand is back and its really the feature i get this case for. It works in 2 ways depending on how you set your phone and both angles are exactly what you need. There's a lip on the top and bottom of the case that should help keep the screen off flat surfaces. Another feature i look for in a case. Didn't like: now this is a really small complaint, but still the reason I give 4 stars. The case seems to settle in different places when you squeeze it. It's like the phone moves around a little in the case. You can push up and down the left and right sides of the case and it will snug up to the phone. It's like it's not 100% snug in the case. My note 4 tough armor didn't have this issue as it felt 100% secure. Now this could be because of the edge screen, but the problem is felt on the back when pushing it down too. Not good for someone with fidgety anxiety like me. Conclusion: I'd give this a 95% grade. I love Spigen, and they really knocked it out of the park. Even though I had a small knit to pick with this case, I'd still recommend it 10/10 times and even buy it again.

Slim Fit, Wide Ports!
I must have looked at hundreds of reviews before finally choosing this case. It was between this case and the Samsung OEM. The reasons I chose this case are: PROS - 1. It is Slim. I did not want a case that would bulk up my phone too much and based on user reviews, the Samsung OEM Case was a little on the bulkier side compared to this case. 2. The Headphone Jack port is Wide. Granted that most speakers and equipment come equipped with Bluetooth nowadays, there are times that I want to connect an auxiliary plug into my phone, and unlike headphone plugs, auxiliary cables usually have a wider plug. I have had phone cases that need to be removed in order to plug in an auxiliary cable because the ports on the case were not wide enough, thereby leaving my phone exposed and more likely to break if someone trips over the auxiliary cable or if my phone falls accidentally. Not to mention, that taking off the phone case every time I plug in an auxiliary cable is utterly annoying. This case solves that issue. The Samsung case seemed to have a smaller port but I am not sure if it an auxiliary plug fit just fine, I just couldn't risk it. Other features which i didn't expect. I love the feel of the case. The plastic is smooth but has a rubbery matte feel. I was afraid that the black rubber would look ugly because of the pictures, but in person, it looks smooth and has a matte finish. I love the the Deep Sea blue color. I thought that in the pictures, the blue looked too light and was afraid it might look tacky in person but i was wrong. The blue gives different shades like the ocean when light reflects on it. The blue also looks slightly darker in person which is perfect. It has raised lips at the top and bottom of the front of the case. The lips are not huge but lips don't matter if your phone falls face first on a raised surface like a rock. The lips do what they are supposed to do. The S Pen port is Accessible just fine. No need to worry about having a difficult time removing the S Pen. Cons: The Kickstand! I don't know why they claim it is reinforced. I was expecting for the kickstand to have a stiffer hinge being that it claims to be reinforced. Maybe I misinterpreted what they meant by reinforced. They should reinforce the Hinge. A stiffer Hinge would improve the kickstand. I read Samsung's case had a good hinge. I didn't expect this hinge to be better so I wasn't surprised and it really isn't that huge of a deal. If you slide open the kickstand completely, it works. It does what it is supposed to do. Another thing I don't like is the vertical direction of the kickstand. When you place the phone down horizontally, the kickstand is then at a horizontal angle. No matter how stiff a horizontal kickstand is, you can only watch the phone at one angle when the kickstand is fully open. This should be the other way around. Spigen has another case (Spigen Ultra Hybrid S) which the kickstand is horizontal rather than vertical and becomes vertical when the phone is placed horizontally. If this case had a horizontal kickstand with a stiff hinge, you can then be able to sit your phone down horizontally with a then, vertical kickstand and watch the phone at different angles based on the height at which your phone is placed, be it a desk, counter top, high table, or the edge of a Jacuzzi which is where i mostly use a kickstand! Just a thought Spigen! All in all, this case meets my expectations in what is most important in a case for slim phone with a curved screen. I would buy again, just change the direction and hinge of the kickstand.

No Option for 3.5 Stars
let me start by saying Spigen is a great company. I have bought maybe a dozen cases from them since the note 4 was first released. I have clothed my Google Pixel XL, Samsung Galaxy S8+, and the Galaxy Note 4, 5, 7, and now 8 each with at least one Spigen product, varying models. This was my first time going for the "Tough Armor," and I found it to be a little underwhelming. Its a decent case, though I wouldn't go as far as calling it "aesthetically appealing." the kickstand is pretty flimsy, but as long as you aren't rough with it, it'll work. the buttons are my favorite part about the case, they are firm and solid, and the cutouts are nice for all holes and ports. the tough armor doesn't have any special design to enhance grip. the back is pretty smooth, and if you don't have a decent grip on it, you can easily let it slip. in terms of protection, I trust Spigen a lot. they have yet to let me down. I have dropped all of my phones quite a few times, and they are pretty good at eating blows. the only downside is that their looks are sensitive to those drops. even very small drops could ding up the case and make it looked banged up, and that goes for just about any Spigen case. Caseology suffers from this as well. Overall, it is a mediocre case, and I already ordered another from tech21 to replace it - marvelous cases, but double what you pay for Spigen, if not more. the only time I see myself using this case in the future is if I need a stand to watch movies on a flight or on break at work. if that is all you're looking for, with good protection, then this is a good case for you. otherwise, I suggest going for one of Spigen's more attractive cases - like the neo hybrid. a personal favorite of mine that I have purchased for most of my devices. I was between a 3 and a 4 for this case, but given my experiences with Spigen, I went with 4. great brand, great protection, okay case.

Spigen Tough Armor Case: It's really good.
This product is a phone case for the Galaxy Note 8. It is used to protect the phone from drops and keep the face of the phone from touching surfaces when laid screen facing down due to its raised edges on the front end, as well as the backsides cutout to protect the camera lense from being scratched. The Spigen Tough Armor case is awesome, and does its job. I'm fairly new to Spigens products but I have to say I have not been disappointed in the case of protection and style. I have had experience with this case saving my phone from cracks or worse! It did a great job held up and kept my phone in tact! Pros: Great grip! Looks good! Has a kickstand! Protects from damaging drops! Easy access to all ports and easy to remove S Pen. Easy to differentiate buttons due to textured bixby button! Nice camera lens cutout for easy access to Heart rate monitor and finger print scanner. Cons: Kick stand is a little flimsy but holds the phone just fine. I've had some pretty bad drops with my phone multiple times of falling out of my pocket when getting out of the car, and one horribly scary incident on the treadmill where my tripod phone mount adapter lost grip of the phone and the phone slammed onto the high speed moving treadmill to then get flung against the wall. After being slammed into the treadmill I had thought for sure my phone was done for with cracks galore but this case saved the day, as I then panicked to turn off the treadmill before my phone gets flung which I failed at because of the panic when it went into the wall I was just thinking man this is a bummer because the phone was hardly a month old at the time and I thought forsure it would have had some damage but the case did its job and kept my phone in great condition with no scratches, cracks or any damage what so ever. I HIGHLY recommend this case for anyone looking to keep their phone protected.

A great case for the best phone on the market
For the last three years, I've had a Galaxy Note 4 with a Spigen case and never had a broken phone after a drop. So when I finally upgraded my phone to the Galaxy Note 8, I went right back to a Spigen case. This case fits snuggly on the Note 8 but isn't difficult to put on. The cut outs are perfect and you can easily access any ports or the stylus. It feels solid and I have no doubt it can absorb a hit or fall. I was concerned with the curved shape of the Note 8 screen than a fall straight on the face could present a problem. While the sides curve with the screen, the top and bottom stick out just enough to take the hit instead of the screen directly. While the case is solid, it's not too big. My problem with a lot of cases out there (especially on phablets) is they're huge and make a large phone even bulkier. This case is strong but keeps things slim enough not to over-crowd your pockets. My only problem with my Note 4 case was the kickstand was a little flimsy and eventually broke. Spigen has addressed that and the new Note 8 case has a sturdier kickstand. By the way, I think the kickstand is a great feature. While I don't use it regularly, it's handy when I want to sit back and a desk or table and watch something at a good angle. If you've spent all that money on a Note 8 but want a solid, affordable case, I highly suggest this product.

Perfect fit, function & looks too
So much better than otterbox! Works with my Note 8 and whitestone glass screen protector. It's slim yet surprisingly durable and tough! I'm clutzy, drop my phone WAY too much (so much so my otterbox defender wore out and got all loose!) and this case has protected it at every drop. Obviously it won't save your phone from a direct hit to the screen (duh!) so I recommend a screen protector to go with it (again whitestone is worth the extra money, in screen sensitivity, fit and warranty). I've dropped phone in parking lots, down stairs and takes a beating in the monster purse that contains everything and the kitchen sink. The few times I've taken it out of the case, the dirt build up is very minimal if non existent (OB was always full of fuzz and dust and dirt and required regular cleaning). All the holes line up great, s-pen access is spot on, my charger and headphone jack access is just right, not to large or small, no speaker or microphone interference, the kickstand has held up (although I only use it occasionally) and is just the right size and placement, and finally the opening for the camera and fingerprint scanner is perfectly placed and sized (the bevel is just the right size for those with larger hands, other, thicker cases without the bevel make it a little ackward, need to push your finger in making heart rate monitor hard to use) Spigen really got it right.

The quality is beyond my expectations!
Update! Exactly why I got a case when I bought my phone! I dropped my phone from about waist height and it hit a gravel surface on the back side corner and landed screen face up. The Tough Armour took the damage (as seen in the pix) No damage to the phone! I love the protection of the Tough Armour and how it still feels minimal in the hands. The color is awesome! I love it, I was almost going to buy the Gunmetal but I am very happy I choose the Deep Sean Blue. The color looks way better that the photos online. The TPU layer is durable and has a strong rugged feel. The kickstand is perfect! The cut outs for the Jack, USB , Mic , Speaker and S-Pen are exact. The cut out around the Camera and Fingerprint sensor has a raised lip for protections (if dropped flat) & allows easy access to the scanner. Yes I get understand there are some ppl who don't feel the S-Pen corner is not as protected, but its a trade off. Not every1 has tiny fingers, access to the Pen is just right and the space is fine. I have done a 3 ft. drop test on each corner and flat back. Every drop was a great result, only minor scratches to the corner and no damages to the Note 8.

A good case but ample room for improvement, and trade-offs compared to others.
This case is an okay case but there are some things in my specifications when buying a case for thousand dollar phone that I needed to have and this just isn't as described or meeting my needs. It's a little bit smaller and lighter than other heavy-duty cases such as the Zizo Bolt, and I love the blue color. However I don't believe the kickstand is as big as it needs to be, the sides of the case fall below screen level, the bevels at the top and bottom are just not extended enough that I feel that sitting down the phone on the face it would be protected, and there's no screen protector while others at the same price include it. As I said it's lighter and thinner than other hefty duty cases, while it feels great in the hand, I just cannot feel as confident as I do with other heavy-duty cases. The kickstand seems to work well enough as long as it's not bumped. there has been some reviews where the kickstand has come off by dropping the phone with the case on. The buttons are a dream to push. as far as protection I did not like how the right corner of your phone is basically exposed allowing damage to the S pen area where they could have at least extended it a little bit and still allowed the S pen to be extracted easily. It did have protection between the speaker and the microphone which was a nice touch. I just don't understand why they cut off the corner. With a few adjustments this case could've been a true winner and I think that's why most people are choosing it. The cut out on the back is a proper size, although it could be just a little bit deeper, and I think most screen protectors will work with it, but you must buy them separately. I do wish I can find a case with this lightness and ease of button pressing, with proper cut outs, a bit more protection, and a multi layered system so that the phone is sandwiched in between the front and the back of the case, providing much better protection (and also included a good screen protector and belt clip). Some would say I just described the overpriced OtterBox. However apparently this year it does not come with a screen protector, and easily falls off its belt clip. It also doesn't have a kickstand. There is no perfection in any case this year for the Note 8 so far this year. One of the best cases I found that truly protects the phone and sandwiches it in between the front and back, is $9.99, though it also lacks a kickstand and a screen protector, not to mention style. Regardless of what you purchased there will be trade-offs. I can only get this case three stars as they were far from perfect, and had several areas where they could definitely improve upon in their next design.

Robusta
