Denon AVR-X1700H 7.2ch 8K Home Theater Receiver with 3D Audio, Voice Control, and HEOS Built-in (Renewed)

Recently bought this to put in my new theater room. The hookup was extremely easy I was able to plug my fire stick right in the back and start steaming through it immediately. The quality of the audio and video is impeccable. Real movie theater experience. I'm able to control the fire stick volume with the surround sound controller so it makes it really easy to use. Definitely worth the money if you enjoy quality.

This is a perfect receiver for a smaller theater set up. I built my first home theater setup in a 5.1 configuration using this receiver. It works great and I really appreciated how easy it was to set everything up. Good quality sound and easy to use remote as well. There are better, more expensive receivers out there but this is perfect for the beginner level setup.

Great sound and such an improvement over my old AVR. Very easy to program and the audio tuning process was straight forward. I occasionally stream music through the AVR, but mainly use it for TV and Movie viewing. It sounds great for the budget price tag it has.

This referb unit looks brand new but had issues from the beginning. After much research the issue is that it requires a certified 48gbps cable and a clean power supply. My setup has the receiver connected to a 4K projector about 25ft away. Once you give it the cables it requires you have one of the best sounding receivers on the market which can do 7.1 Atmos, has inputs for a turntable and has the ability to connect older devices such as a Laserdisc player or VCR. When working it's Awesome but when the picture cuts out at random because of something like a space heater connected to the same outlet as the projector, it's very irritating. Also makes your professional turntable sound even more awesome.

Using this Denon AVR-1700H as my home theatre centerpiece. As inputs, I have a 4K gaming source, a 1080P blu-ray source, and have a cobbled together 5.1 speaker set. The output is a 4K TV that supports 120Hz and eARC. The pass-through quality is amazing. No perceivable lag during gaming. The setup was fast and very intuitive. The Denon quality is astounding. This unit replaced a previous X1700 that was destroyed by a young male foxhound. The customer support for the previous unit was amazing, but unfortunately "water" damage is not covered by the warranty. I have not set up the secondary audio zone, but with the home theatre setup I have, I do wish there had been a way to output video to multiple displays. I'm considering a 4K 120Hz HDMI splitter to alleviate this issue. This AVR puts out plenty of wattage - I can barely go above 50% before it starts rattling the house. It really makes movies come alive. Plugging in a new HDMI source such as a portable gaming system works great. The source autodetect feature makes this simple to use and breeze when powering up the gaming source. I also enjoy using the eARC audio feature since the TV is connected to multiple streaming providers.

I ordered the factory refurbished editions of this item and neither functioned properly. The first unit had a remote control that did not work. After setting up the unit and operating it using the knobs and buttons, it died within about 10 minutes of operation. Amazon sent me a replacement unit and the new unit had no functional front panel and the system would not recognize the presence of any speakers. After speaking to Denon tech support, I reached back out to Amazon and I am currently waiting for a refund.

I have owned Sony and three pioneer receivers the past 15 years. This AVR-X1700H Denon is the cleanest sound I have owned. The hook up directions are very well shown. Audyessy set up also very simple and has worked very well.

I'm only 2 days in on using this but it's a beast! The fact that it's a refurb unit is irrelevant. It looks brand new. Setup was very easy but does take a while. It holds your hand and walks you through everything. So far I love it!!
