Wireless CarPlay Success.
This worked to provide CarPlay in my 2016 Ford F150. The bezel on this unit is narrow compared to my stock usb hub. I was able to easily swap the bezel out from my existing hub and then the new unit clicked right in to place. I did have to restart my radio (power button + fwd seek button x5 sec) for the truck to recognize the plugged in phone. After that, I then bought an inexpensive wireless CarPlay adapter for around $20. I went from no CarPlay to wireless for around $100 total. Awesome upgrade.

Avoid this Dealership
Ordered the USB HUB module to enable Carplay. After installing the HUB, charging no longer worked on any type of device. Reinstalled the original hub - and charging returned (Carplay still did not work - as expected). Returned the item tp Rob Baker Ford and was charged a 100% restocking fee (no details as to why) for a defective product. The Part was an OEM product in OEM packaging and returned in the same packaging. If you receive a working part - then probably no issues, but if you have any issues with the part - expect to pay for a non working part. I hope that they rectify this situation. Here is the excerpt from the return from Rob Baker Ford Instructions from RodBakerFord Buyer to pay for return shipping if ordered wrong or by mistake. Seller to pay return shipping if wrong item is sent. Returns Buyers may be charged a restocking fee that depends on the type of item and condition in which it is returned. You may charge a restocking fee as follows: Up to 20% of the item's price for unopened items in their original condition returned Up to 50% of the item's price for items with obvious signs of use and that have been opened Up to 100% of the item's price for items that are not in their original condition, or are damaged

Fixes Fordโs Factory Flop
Letโs call it what it isโthis wasnโt an upgrade, it was damage control. The original factory module? Total embarrassment. Dropped connection, wouldnโt recognize CarPlay half the time, and made me question whether Ford actually tests their tech before shipping it out. Enter its replacementโSwapped it in, fired it up, and finally got the functionality I was supposed to have from day one. Clean install, factory fit, and CarPlay now connects instantly like it has a clue. Ford shouldโve nailed this the first time, but at least this part puts the fire out. If your original hub took a dump like mine did, save the troubleshooting headache and just get this one. Itโs not an upgrade. Itโs Ford doing a do-overโand this time, it actually works.

Works with a 2016 F-150 Lariat, but the housing is too small
My 2016 Ford F-150 Lariat originally had SYNC 3.0, which I recently updated to SYNC 3.4. I purchased this USB hub to add Apple CarPlay, and it works as intended. To remove the original hub, I used a Titan 11108 Trim Pad Tool with the forked end. I recommend watching a YouTube installation video beforehand. The electrical connectors were somewhat difficult to unplug, but manageable with patience. The only issue is that the new housing is slightly shorter than the factory module, so it does not fit the original opening securely. I had to transfer the new USB internals into the original factory housing for a proper fit. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because the hub works, but the required housing swap makes the installation more complicated than it should be.

Works but not foolproof.
Definitely upgraded my system, but it is very sensitive to which cord is used to connect to the phone.

add apple carplay to 2016 lincoln mkc
needs an extra trim piece called a "usb adaptor cover" to fit 2016 Lincoln MKC, but otherwise works. need to upgrade to sync 3, and now apple carplay wired works.

Easy install - you may need a new plug as well
Wifey spilled coffee in the middle console and fried the connector. Ended up having to order part KT1Z-14D202-D along with this unit in order to have carplay again. Bolts really easily. Plug and play. Took all of 10 min.

Garbage, DO NOT BUY
Absolute garbage for both product and service, one of the ports didn't even charge my phone and the other did charge but no CarPlay. Tried to return the product and the seller hackled and argued with me, wanting me to pay for return shipping.

Works as it should
Depending on what vehicle youโre putting this into, the plastic backing may not cover the factory opening/slot that it installs into. The unit works as it should.
