Works as Advertised. Will Shrink an Oversized Hat to Fit Your Head.
Initially, I admit I was skeptical about why there were 30 pieces. That seems to be too many pieces. I figure I only need a few and did not want to pay the extra money for pieces I may never use. Then I realized that this was necessary because I used 8 pads alone in one hat to shrink it down to my head size. The extra pieces are nice in case you have multiple hats that need to be sized down. I volunteer for the Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach. As part of our uniform, they gave us these really handsome and classy fedoras made of light-colored straw. When the volunteer coordinator said that the hats were extra-large, which meant "they were just perfect for your head", making the "ok" sign with his hand (he was being humorous), he was not kidding. My fedora was XL. I wore this hat for the entire day at the car show with the top of the hat resting on the top of my head. Remember how I said the hat was made of tightly-weaved straw? This means it's stiff. You can imagine just how uncomfortable this is, pressing on the top of your head for the entire day. Not to mention the hat moved around your head with each step that you took, rubbing into your scalp even more. Upon completion of my gig, I looked for ways to reduce the hat size so that it would fit me better. I plan to volunteer again next year. Besides, I want to wear this spiffy hat anytime I want. I found these pads in my search. I had to use about 8 of them to reduce the extra-large size down to medium for my head. I placed these pads, which consisted of one sticky side, under the sweat band inside the hat. You cannot even see that they are there. Recall that the straw is tightly weaved and provides a SPF of 50+. I have worn this hat a number of times with the padding. Let me tell you: It is now snug and comfortable. The top of the fedora no longer presses against my scalp. I still have a bunch of pads left over. I'm sure they will come in handy for any other volunteer gigs I may participate where they give us hats. They typically do a "one-size-fits-all" for ease-of-ordering. Overall, I recommend these pads for your hat. Your head will thank you, too.

Hat Size Tape
These hat size reducer inserts turned out to be a simple but super effective fix for hats that run a little too big. The foam is soft, flexible, and easy to trim, so getting the right fit doesn’t feel like a project. Once in place, they stay put without shifting around, and they don’t create any weird bumps or pressure points. What I really appreciate is how they make a loose hat feel secure without changing the look or shape. They add just enough padding to tighten the fit while still being comfortable for long wear. If you have a favorite hat that’s just slightly too roomy, these inserts are an inexpensive, no‑fuss solution that actually works.

Adequate fix for SLIGHTLY large caps only
Not as comfortable as hoped, but helps with a couple of Boston Scally caps that felt too large (stretched? Head shrinking or hair shorter/thinner with age?!) after I wore them a while. No substitute for getting good fitting hat in first place. But adequate, reasonably priced “fix” for slightly too-large caps. Not thick enough if really too large a cap. But not sure there is adequate solution for that.

Hat Inserts
These inserts work great! They have a strong adhesive and are comfortable to wear. I had to put 5 of them in my straw hat, but it no longer comes down over my ears.

They work, but...
These hat size reducers work good, maybe a little too good. I think the sticky backside is way too strong though. If you place the reducer in the wrong position, it's very difficult to remove it once it's in. If you are not careful, it can and will pull your hat liner apart or pull chunks of felt out with it. There is no reason for the stickiness to be so strong. There are lots of size reducers out there that have no stickiness at all. I have discovered the best way to apply these reducers is to place them on the backside of the sweatband instead of against the inside crown. Just flip the entire sweatband out and upward and then apply the reducers as close to what is now the top of the sweatband as possible, some overhang is okay. After that, flip the sweatband back down to its original position. This will prevent any waviness or rippling in the sweatband. Also, placing the sizer too close to the sewn part (where the sweatband is sewn to the crown) will also create rippling so don't place it too deep into the groove of the sweatband. In other words, when you place the sweatband back to its normal position, you should be able to see the top of reducer in your sweatband. Anyway, hope this helps someone.

Happy. It come’s with both white and black spacers.
Great product. I always buy hats a little bit larger than my size. These spacer’s are great if you buy hats online.

Practicidad
