This monitor is great for field work when installing CCTV systems, excellent size and weight when up on a ladder, and cheap enough to drop from a ladder. (I was using a 1k$ test monitor before this) I have a unit with faulty battery also (probably due to long storage , but at this price I can't complain. Last nite I opened the battery pack with a hot air gun and replaced one of the lithium battery with a working unit which I happen to have a lot kicking around the house. Inside the pack is a 3s configuration and a balancer. The last battery in the 3s configuration is completely shorted out, snipped the battery tab and soldered on a replacement unit, all working now with the built-in battery. I use the monitor with a pair of HDMI wireless transmitter/receiver that I connect to the NVR and I can adjust my camera 150 feet away with the camera mounted, good enough for any residential installation. Just picked up another pair of HDMI transceiver and hopefully with 2 pair working together I can extend the working range up tp 300 feet, which allows me to adjust cameras in a large warehouse building. In conclusion, the monitor is cheap enough for field work, you drop it from a ladder, you buy another one, can't go wrong. BTW, display is not 1080, so kind of hard to read the text if you are using it to set up a NVR.

First time connected the unit - charged for 3-4 hours, battery said full, and it turned on and worked with battery only. now it doesn't hold the charge, all switches are off, and in order for it to work, it needs to be plugged in for power. I charged it all night a good 12 hours minimum, and it still doesn't turn on after it is disconnected. not happy with product. -> not very useful if it has to be connected to power for it to work.

Battery would not charge or hold a charge. Plugged in for a few hours after I got it. Soon as the charger was disconnected it went dead. NO good for a CCTV tech on a ladder. And the menu is horrible. Makes no sense. Do not recommend.
