These decoders works great! They have really nice features and are super easy to use. I appreciate the LCD screen for addressing and changing the settings of the decoder. In addition, having a multitude of different testing modes built in is a huge plus. It’s great having 8bit and 16bit options as well as 2ch, 3ch and 4ch modes to boot. They don’t flicker, have 3pin dmx (which almost no decoders have) and when you realize you’re only paying about $10 per channel, you can’t go wrong really. Now.. the not so great part. The QC on this item is not so great. Out of the last 20 or so of these I’ve bought about 5-6 have been faulty. Some, would just stop working after a few hours of use, others refused to pass DMX, and some would just flat out not work. This can be fairly frustrating when your project deadline is right around the corner. But, you get what you pay for. When they work... they’re incredible. When you get a bad one.... well, it’s hard not to chuck it arose the room while swearing. So, here’s the bottom line... In my honest professional opinion these are great. They’re realitively cheap so buy extra knowing that a few in your batch are bound to be duds. Then, just send em back to amazon and get a refund. All in all, I’ll keep buying these; the price for what you get is just too good.

I'm generally pretty never about using electronic in a professional setting that don't have a brand name. These however work great. We've been using them with our stage designs for several years now. Couldn't be more pleased.

I love what this product does, BUT.... I ordered a couple weeks ago, hooked it up to a high wattage power supply, my DMX signal, and 4 various RGBW LED strips. Whenever the Decoders LCD display was lit up, it would send all kinds of random signals to the LED strips, whether DMX was connected or not. This happened regardless if I properly terminated the DMX cable, or not. The first unit would NOT recognize my DMX signal and thanks to Amazons speedy exchange process, I has another in my hands a day later. Meh... The replacement has the same issue whenever the LCD display is on, but once it turns off after 30 seconds, the unit performs flawlessly with my DMX. So yeah.... is it still defective? I think so? But then it works as well.

This decoder is amazing. I bought two of these to run a series of LED Strip Lights for a backdrop. I wanted control of each strip independently and this decoder gives you control of 8 separate strips. Every other decoder out there only lets you control 1 strip which is not cost or time effective. Wiring the strips takes time as you have to clamp each wire but that is expected. Powering the lights is also very easy with this device as you can plug the transformers straight into it. I used two ALITOVE DC 12V 20A 240W Power Supply Transformer Switch AC 110V/220V to DC 12V 20amp Switching Adapter Converter Drivers to power the lights. I would definitely recommend this Decoder! So, I had high hopes for this dimmer. When I did my research, this particular model (32ch 8/16bit) offered the most bang for your buck. I needed 16 bit, and I needed as many channels as I could get for its price point. Right off the bat CH1 (or 0) was dead. Not really a problem, because I had 31 others I could work with. Besides that one hikkup, everything was fine for about a month and a week. Then two days ago, the unit stopped receiving DMX. I swapped the device sending the signal out for another, and got the same results. I then tested the dimmer with a DMX tester, same thing. After tax, I paid over $90 for this thing, and its dead in less than two months. It's past the 30 day return policy, so I contacted the seller for support. Hopefully they get back to me. If I hear back and we can resolve this, I will graciously change my review. But as it stands right now, I really can't recommend this dimmer. The price is too great of a risk for the lack of QA and warranty. Do yourself a favor and purchase a name brand dimmer backed by a reputable company, like Elation. It'll cost more upfront, but it carries the name and support should something go wrong. Look at it this way, as of right now, of the five reviews here, two of them are one star. That gives you a 40% chance you will waste $100. Update: Amazon was gracious enough to refund me the money despite being past the 30 day return deadline. I went ahead and purchased some Elation dimmers. The dimming curve on these Elation units are WAY smoother than this hunk of junk. Better to go with a reputable name for the all around quality.

After some battling, the following was needed to run multiple RGBW LED strips 1. Set the unit in 4Ch mode. This allows you to address each output so that you can control the Red, Green, Blue and White channel of each output individually. 2. Set a start address other than Zero. The unit default is Zero and with this set, nothing worked. Setting the address to 001 was necessary for the unit to start responding to DMX packets The unit is solidly built and exceeds my expectations. The manual is sparse to say the least but I guess it assumes prior knowledge of DMX controllers.

This review would be at 5 stars, as I have been using these theatrically for 3 years and had 0 issues and great results. Recently the quality seems to have shifted, and I have received 2 drivers that have flickering issues. The problem is worse the lower addresses we use, so we have worked around this by using this driver at ADR 401 through 501 with no issues, but from 1-128 was rough and not feasible for theatrical use. I own another 12 of these units from the past few years and have never run into this issue on any of them, but this one was a big problem, I returned it, and received a new on with the same flicker problem again.

Not the best Decoder. Slow fading shows steps. Had to disconnect, Unit started smoking after a week. No internal fusing .

This DMX decoder does exactly what it says on the tin (literally as its screen printed case is labelled well and built very sturdily)! I've had it a little while now so have had a good chance to put it through its paces. It accepts any DMX signal I can throw at it (USB to DMX dongle, Zero 88 Console and E1.31/sACN to DMX interface, along with a few testers for good measure)! Configuring the decoder is very simple, using the three buttons that are under the LED display. As it's possible to drive high current loads through the decoder, four supply inputs are provided. These can be driven from a single high-current power supply or separate ones as necessary. Each input powers two groups of four outputs however it should be noted that the ground (zero volt) inputs are commoned inside the decoder. Different voltage supplies could even be used if you need to power a 5V, 12V and 24V LED strips simultaneously, for example. The decoder is powered from the power supply inputs and seems to require around 90mA at 12V and 40mA at 24V. The outputs (on very good removeable connector blocks) are arranged for easy connection of RGBW LED strips although can easily be used for any other purpose (within reason)! The outputs can be configured in one, two, three or four channel modes with the decoder requiring 8, 16, 24 or 32 DMX channels. This is one of the few devices that I've found which is switchable between 8 and 16-bit modes. 16-bit mode uses two DMX channels per output (16, 32, 48 or 64 depending upon the mode). Although seemingly wasteful of DMX addresses, this gives much, much smoother dimming of each output. Very slow fades are therefore possible with no noticeable stepping between levels, naturally the software or console will need to support 16-bit dimming. The PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) of the outputs is around 490Hz so there's no flickering evident as can happen with slower PWM. The built-in programs are good for testing that everything is connected and working correctly but a bit too limited for anything other than testing. All in all this is a very well built device and performs exactly as the instructions say it should. Highly recommended if you need high-powered dimming with options to control different voltage LED strips and a 16-bit mode.

Das ist der beste DMX Controller den man für so wenig Geld bekommen kann. Ich steuere mein ganzes Haus mit 2 Controllern. Das sind ca. 100 CCT Panel und Spots. Dazu noch einige RGBW Strips.
