I bought it mainly because of the appearance, but it ended up surprising me because of how well it heats. In a few minutes the room feels much more comfortable. The effect of the flames is very nice and gives a relaxing atmosphere, even when I don't use the heating.

We love our faux fireplace! We like the realistic flames, but the height of the “logs” are a tad too tall. It looks like a pile of ash rather than defined logs. However, with the fire screen closed and being distracted with reading or other activities, your mind thinks it’s a real fire! We purchased a crackling fire sound machine which has enhanced the experience! No more smelly fire stink or mess. Reasonable price, the heating element can be used or not…the blower isn’t too loud, either. It definitely takes the chill out of the room. We are really enjoying the ambiance this faux fireplace provides. I strongly suggest a crackling sound machine!

After getting the bad news from an inspection that our fireplace needed $5k+ worth of repairs to render it safe for burning wood, I decided to cut my losses and buy one of these heaters so I could still have some ambiance in our living room. This heater is not perfect, but I believe most of the similar heaters will suffer from the same issues. Pros: lightweight, gives off good heat, has two heat settings, remote control makes it easy to use, and I feel that the light is bright and about as realistic as you could ask for. Generally pretty quiet (see below). Minor cons: the fan in mine seems to be a little off-balance, or one of the screws holding it in is loose - if it's not sitting on a perfectly flat surface, it has a very loud rattling noise as a result. I have this sitting on some bricks in my fireplace and was able to fix it by stuffing some fiberglass insulation under the middle to put gentle pressure against the area where the rattling came from. This might be fixable by opening it up the unit and tightening some screws. The light on mine had also come loose during shipping, I was easily able to snap it back into place by removing the top cast resin piece, which is held in by four screws. The blower output is very low to the ground and blows at a slight upward angle away from the heater. There is nothing normally wrong with this, but if you have doors on your fireplace, you will likely have to elevate it a bit to get the airflow past the lower bezel of the door frame (hence the bricks). It's clearly listed in the description as a 5.9 foot cord, so this one is on me - unless you have a receptacle very close to your fireplace, you'll need an extension cord, which is not ideal at best and dangerous at worse when using a space heater. Make sure you use at minimum a 14/3 gauge cord (12/3 is best) if you need one and plug it directly into the receptacle, not a power strip. Basically all of these have too-short cords and IMO that's fairly irresponsible of the manufacturers. Measured with a watt meter and the light on the brightest setting, it uses about 720 watts on low and 1370 watts on high. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase. It's a handsome heater and I hope we will get many hours of ambiance and warm space out of it.

We decommissioned a wood burning stove but wanted to have the cozy look of a roaring fire, this was the perfect size. Just plug it in, turn it on, done!

Very good flame effect, even in a well lit room,I highly recommend it for that. It is large, more like a pile of three big logs. We have a smallish fireplace just 21” in the back. This would be super great in a big New England style fireplace place. The heater doesn’t do much in the large space of our open living/kitchen space but at least the heat isn’t just racing out the chimney. We use it instead of the wax logs which cost too much now and leave a mess just like wood. Never trusted this Florida chimney with a wood fire. Would be better if the logs and flame effects had separate brightness controls as the logs can be too bright and turning them down dims the flames as well. All in all a good product, we use it a lot.

I was looking for something to put in my wood-burning fireplace that would be a cleaner and more convenient option. I am SO happy with this purchase! It was the easiest installation, taking me 3 seconds to pull it out of the box and slide it into the fireplace. The lights really mimic a real fire, and it heats my 750 sq ft condo quickly. You can turn the heat setting off and just have the cozy vibe if you're warm enough. Noise level is little to none - a soft whirring noise only while the heat setting is on but completely quiet when the heat is off. The only thing I would wish for is that it made a little crackling fire sound, but besides that, it's the perfect insert!!

It started out so lovely, easy and putting out good heat, and then the beautiful dancing flames just stopped, with a single distinct click noise, after 2 hours of being plugged in and being turned on for the first time, the flame effect stopped. I bought this for my daughter as a Christmas present, a couple of months ago, and have had it safely in the original box, in a safe, undisturbed place until making the nice and easy 3 hour trip yesterday, and then she opened it last night 12/22, so we could enjoy it this whole Christmas week and New Years, and wow, so disappointing for all of us! The box was perfect, no damage at all. The snug styrofoam packing was perfect as well, and only two pieces; the fireplace and the remote! So couldn't be easier to set up, and it looked and worked beautifully for 1 kid movie, then the flames stopped with a snap noise. We tried unplugging it, and letting it rest, thinking perhaps it over-heated, even though the glow and heat were still working. We even left it off overnight and still no flames when turning it back on this morning. The heat and glow work, but no flames, which truly is what makes it look so real, when working. Upon turning the unit over, we can see the turning piece continues to turn, but the bar with the flickering detail has disconnected, and no visible sign of how it was connected originally. I read a lot of reviews before buying this one. The dancing flames is what sold me, as it truly made it look so authentic! I am hoping the company will reach out and replace! 🙏🏻 And send replacement quickly for Christmas!! 🙏🏻✨🎄 Or even New Years!
